Reviews for Palmetto Bay Marina
The Marina has been destroyed by Hurricane Matthew., 2016-10-31
Captain: , marblehead (30)

Hurricane Matthew split the marina in two, bent over all the pilings, and all the boats tied to the docks were laiunched onto the shore. As of Oct 31, 2016 there are still many hazzards in the area from semi submerged pilings. Stay clear of the area.

Tough current but beautiful setting, 2015-03-28
Captain: , Southport, NC (916)

Most docks are parallel to the very dangerous current. Ample help on the docks, fuel, etc. Great shops and boat ramp right on-site. This creek is one of the prettiest in the area with easy access to Shelter Cove by boat.

Palmetto Bay Marina, 2014-05-16
Captain: , St. Petersburg, Fl (70)

The price here has gone up to $1.90 per foot. The docks are in pretty bad shape but serviceable. The showers are up in the restaurant area. There is only one shower per sex and it is in the restrooms patronized by restaurant guests.
Current can run strong, but it is parallel with the docks and not that big a problem. Wi-fi is good. Not many boats here.

Good Stop to Get Out of Weather, 2013-12-16
Captain: , Crockett (610)

We stopped in here trying to make our way north with the wind against us. Great help on the docks and very friendly staff. Resturants and bars onsite were good enough that we didn't feel like going else where after a two day stay. Next time maybe we'll stay and explore Hilton Head Island.

Good Service Makes Up For Older Facility, 2013-06-11
Captain: , Dayton, MT (82)

Stayed here for a week while we made a repair. Cindy and staff were friendly and helpful. Visit Chris for awesome snow cones and Lego display.

Good service but fuel is expensive, 2013-04-29
Captain: , Buffalo (832)

Cindy goes out of her way to make sure that she or Chad ensure you are safe and comfortable. We spent two nights (try to come in or leave at slack tide), so we thought we would top off our tanks without checking other prices. Four miles north we found another marina with $1.00 cheaper per gallon fuel. We could have saved $120.

Great Stop, 2013-03-20
Captain: , Neversink NY (210)

Easy run up broad Creek. Marina staff very helpful and friendly. Pleanty of choices for food and grog. Overall a very pleasant experience.

So grateful to find a slip here., 2012-12-11
Captain: , Roseville, MN (362)

Deep water at docks. Handy access. No cable tv. No internet. No courtesy car. A walk to the restrooms and shower and laundry. Little on the older side. But superb people and superb food at Black Marlin. Very interesting inside and outside spaces to eat in and relax. Two other restaurants on site. Here to wait out the rain.

Broad Creek Cut, 2012-11-26
Captain: , Dover DE (145)

We followed the Harbormasters directions to navigate the cut and it worked out great, dropped an hour off transit around Buck Island. Coming southbound, stay away from Marker 29A and go to marker 31 and pass close aboard. Take the 'No Wake" sign to S/B and then head straight through. Great place to stay and everyone is very friendly.

Great place to dock your boat, 2012-06-06
Captain: , Woodstock, Georgia (359)

What a joy it is to stay at a marina that puts customer service first. While we have stayed here in years past, this year was a real joy because of the Marina Staff.

Nice Outdoor eating and drinking, 2012-04-30
Captain: , Savannah,GA (376)

Stayed here 2012-Jan-01, the docks are a bit rugged so watch your step. Dock master is very nice and helpful. We made a mistake and docked on the face dock in the last slip near the bridge. The ferries use a dock just past the bridge so we were rocking hard from the constant ferry traffic. Next time we will ask for an inside slip. Cool Key West style eating and drinking places. 3 or 4 small resturants and 2 outdoor bars. This is where the locals hang out, very friendly place. I would rate it a 3.5 since the food places are fun but you can not give the half point on this rating.

Spent another night here on 28-April-2012 and enjoyed the marina much more. The dock is still rough but the "funky" nature of the marina is starting to grow on us. Stayed on an inside slip which was much nicer than last stay. Upgraded my rating to 4 stars.

Great Service, 2011-12-15
Captain: , Fair Haven, NJ (10)

Hauled my boat late November 2011. Extremely professional and efficient. Reasonably priced. Did minor repairs and componded and buffed hull. Excellent job.

Good stop off the ICW, 2011-04-01
Captain: , Marblehead, MA (926)

Nothiing fancy, but moderate price and good wake protection and on-site restaurants make this an attractive short-term stop going north or south.
