Reviews for Palm Beach Yacht Center
Convienent overnight stop, 2017-04-20
Captain: , Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4666)

We needed a break on our way north after grounding at Haulover and passing through all the bridges, and it was getting late. So we called PBYC and got a very reasonalble rate for overnight on their north T-head. The docks are in great shape, but the pilings and rub rails need work. Despite what they say, there is nothing within walking distance - we were told by the dock hand to use Uber [we stayed on the boat]. Also, the wi-fi is non-functioning - we were told to use our "minutes." But for the price, and our needs, it was just right.

Reservations, 2016-02-26
Captain: , Hilton Head Island (55)

Tried to make reservations a week in advance - was rudely advised that I have to call the same day of arrival since they do not accept advance reservations. Tough to plan trips when confronted with that attitude.

Great Stay, 2014-12-23

We recently stayed at the Yacht Center and they were amazingly accomodating. We had a great experience with the dockmaster Jena, and Brett the yard manager was also excellent.

I would recommend this facility for both dockage, and service to anyone in the area. 5 stars.

Be sure to get one of the two slips with side cleats., 2014-03-17
Captain: , Poughkeepsie, NY (6077)

Happiness here is being assigned one of the two slips with side cleats. We had slip 42 on the center row of docks and it was fine. Other slips only have two forward cleats and two aft pilings and come with a very short, fixed finger. Even with slip 42 it may be a big step up depending on the state of the tides. Also, slip 42 doesn't have the early morning fishing boat traffic.

The marina was well kept. You may or may not get help in docking or leaving depending on how busy they are. Be sure to follow the channel in, I found 7 feet at low tide between the two pilings visible off the ICW, after passing south of the marina sign.

They now offer free WiFi.

One of the best around, 2014-03-02

This is a full service yard. Gas. Diesel. Ice. Bait. Storage. Haul out. Pump out. Bottom paint. Repairs. etc...

Brett, the yard manager is super friendly and knowledgeable.

Very Disappointing, 2013-06-02
Captain: , Sarasota FL (60)

Justin promised on the phone that he would help us tie up but never did. Windy day on which help would have been appreciated. Justin later said he was too busy. Short, nearly useless finger piers. Navigation instructions from Justin were to turn off the ICW at marker 42. There is no marker 42. We were told to pick a slip in the 90's but there are no or very small numbers on the slips. We never did figure out which slip we were in. Very narrow slips. Nails in pilings. Rub rail on finger piers coming loose. 50 amp AC didn't work. Big drift boat roars through marina kicking up unnecessary wake. Not for transients.

Disappointing, 2013-01-02
Captain: , Annapolis (125)

We spent 2 nights here New Years Eve and day, and to be fair with them most of my heartache was most likely because it was a holiday and they were short-handed. To start no one helped us get in or tied up, we were trying to read the slip numbers and had to ask another person on the dock where it was as the east winds pushed us past the slip. After getting tied up, we went in to take hot showers, they handed us keys to the bathrooms attached to a huge bumper as if we were going to steal their key. The bathrooms were small with only one shower, but fairly clean. I asked for the Wi-Fi key and they informed us they didn%u2019t know the number, he would call the dockmaster and get it for us. The dockmaster said they had recently changed it and he didn%u2019t remember the passcode. No Internet. The water hose bib was missing I had to ask a neighbor if I could use his water outlet.

Upgrades and Maintence, 2012-10-02
Captain: , Colorodo (327)

I went there to get a lot of maintence and upgrades done to my boat. I kept my boat there for a month and honestly they did an incredible job with the upgrades. Extremely nice people and they really did know what they were doing.

Outstanding Dock Master, 2012-07-05
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

These folks were great and the price is good compared to surrounding marinas with BoatUS. Wakes from boats during the day can be aggravating, but the marina staff was very honest about it, so it is not a big deal. Facilities are nice too.

Improving all the time, 2010-06-29
Captain: , Lake Worth, Florida (20)

Full service marina and working boat yard. Very helpful and attentive staff. Jena, the dockmaster is very nice. They recently built a large Tiki hut for gatherings and BBQ as well as recently upgraded both bathroom facilities. Winn Dixie and KMart less than 1 mile away.

Captain: , Foley, AL (985)

Staff were very helpfull in getting tied up in strong wind. Only 1.25 miles from a Publix (South) or Winn Dixie (North) on Federal.
