Reviews for Palm Beach Town Docks
Great Location and Dirty Secret, 2016-03-13
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (1011)

This is an excellent location to tie up while visiting Palm Beach which can easily be explored by bike or on foot. Solid fixed docks and friendly dockmaster.

However, Palm Beach's dirty little secret is that burning sugar cane fields and approaching aircraft to the west often deposit ash over the area. This can often produce a sooty mess aboard your yacht!

public dock at its finest, 2016-03-03
Captain: , Kiawah Island, SC (20)

excellent staff. location is a challenge due to two draw bridges (fixed schedules) and surprising tidal flow but worth the hassle once you're in for night. powerboats rule but friendly to sail as long as you can have an outer slip for depth purposes.

Shame on Palm Beach., 2015-10-08
Captain: , Yorktown, VA (972)

Shame on you Palm Beach. You have a %u201Ccity dock%u201D but are exclusive and rude as if you are a private, exclusive yacht club. There is no one around to ask permission and no good number to call. We talked to a nice man who keeps his boat there and he suggested we tie up to the wall. He also gave us permission to tie up to his swim platform and even gave us the code to return to the marina. We did not feel comfortable with that so we decided to tie up at the cement wall.
The cement wall is part of the city park with benches along the waterway. To enter the marina, there are locked gates. So, we thought since it was a park area and we would not have to enter the locked area, it would be a great place to leave the dinghy. There were even cleats on the wall.
As we were leaving the dinghy, someone appeared in a golf cart and said we could not stay. We inquired as to the use of a city facility and he said absolutely not. We indicated we wanted to shop and get something to eat. It was about 3 pm and he said it was past lunch so that wouldn%u2019t work. I guess you can only eat at noon?
We inquired as to a location where we could tie up to visit Palm Beach and were told there are none. He said the only option is across the ICW to the north to the West Palm Beach Municipal Dock. We would have then had to walk back to the bridge, across the bridge and to downtown Palm Beach.
It is sad that only the rich and famous can visit Palm Beach.

Walking distance to Worth Street, 2015-04-07
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

I'm a fan of a number of authors with characters based in Palm Beach. So I wanted to stop and of course go shopping on Worth St.

Docks are solid wood piers, quad 50 amp service, water, pumpout at your slip. Dockhand was super nice and helped us in. Very good wireless service. Tide swing is ~2'

At 45' we were one of the smallest boats in the marina, our dockmates were both 55'. We were on the North "Brazilian" dock, two slips from the wall. Boat traffic during the day was able to rock us. At night there was no problem.

It's a 3 block walk to the end of Worth St, and another block or so to the shopping area. Sadly, we were there on Easter Sunday, but had fun window shopping. Even though the stores were closed, I could feel my credit cards vibrating in my pocket.

Lots of places to eat nearby, but "in season" (Nov->April) most places jackets are required. But you did bring a jacket, right?

There are a ton of great houses in the area with amazing landscaping to look at. We passed two real estate places, you can get something nice for about $3.2 million.

lunch anyone?, 2014-03-12
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (1421)

For years I've docked my clients yachts at the west palm public docks and clients have walked or taxied to palm beach for lunch or dinner. Now, with the help of the great dockmaster at these docks, I can tie up, let my clients go to lunch or dinner, spend a god amount of money and come back to the boat.

Ideal Location, 2013-04-27
Captain: , Daytona Beach (30)

Super location to see and do Palm Beach. The dock names correspond to the streets that lead to them. Easy walking to the sights. The Publix is upscale but stealthy. No sign and you'll need a car and local knowledge to find.

Watch the South Dock, 2013-04-04
Captain: , Friday Harbor, WA (490)

We stayed a week at the South dock on the sea wall side inside. was VERY rolly and swelly. Not confortable at all. Dock master said this was a bad slip as the sea wall reflections of the wakes

This is a faviour place do to the close walikng didtance to Palm Beach restruants.

Just ask for a sslip on the North dock

Decent docks strong current, 2013-03-16
Captain: , lighthouse point (289)

Docks are well kept and staff is friendly, the currrent is strong as the tide shifts, better to get a dock close to seawall.

Year long rental Captain, 2012-11-06
Captain: , Palm Beach (10)

We stay the year but travel allot. But rental here is by the year for best price
clean - great docks - great parking - great staff - it is true they are are hard to reach on the phone but can usually be reached on ch 16
very quite - only thing is we have to cart our own garbage to dumpster in corner of lot. - clean marina they have dirty oil depository etc.. Annoying element is having to cart your garbage to dumpster in corner of parking lot. No dock side cans.
security is very good here because it is palm beach w major successful police department and there is nothing close by to attract shifty people - there is armed night guards but When they make thier appionted rounds that's ok but any shifty person can see them coming. not really effective

Poor communication, 2012-08-06
Captain: , St. Thomas, USVI (624)

We came in after 6 pm and could not get a hold of anyone at this marina but had a last minute reservation through Unable to speak to anyone, we tied up at the end of a T-dock for the night. A night guard came to say hello and we supplied him with our reservation number. We were leaving early in the morning trying to make time up the waterway so we left before city-worker-start-time. Instead of listening to the two messages we left on the answering machine or reading the e-mails we sent asking for a slip or noting the night guard's report, the staff called the bridge we were trying to get through and was prepared to have us stopped like common criminals. In this case a privately run marina with entrepreneurial types running it would provide better service and not on 9-5 hours, which almost never fit boating lifestyles.

Love It...., 2012-01-19
Captain: , Newport Beach, CA (100)

Stopped on our way to Ft Lauderdale in November and never left. Very friendly staff and great location. Wonderful resturants and provisioning at the new Publix Grocery. Easy access to Bahamas.

A huge place., 2011-05-18
Captain: , Milwaukee, WI (91)

This is a huge marina with huge boats. Nice big slips. Friendly people. Watch the current running through!

If you want to stay just a few steps from one of the most expensive shopping districts in the country - this is it. The facility is very well maintained, the staff is very helpful and the price reflects all of the above. Just two short blocks from the West end of Worth Street a day of shopping could cost you more than you paid for your boat.

Don't forget to schedule your departure to coordinate with the bridge openings - no matter what direction you're traveling.

Great spot, 2008-03-21
Captain: , Vancouver BC (500)
