Reviews for Palm Beach Sailing Club
Welcoming!, 2016-12-20
Captain: , Deltaville (20)

Anchored among mega yachts, we wondered how we humble sailors would be received here in Palm Beach: the folks here could not have been nicer: $16 a day for a safe dinghy tie-up, a chance to cool off in the comfy club, and showers for the two of us. Great spot for a long walk, 20 blocks south to some nice restaurants and a cool vintage shop on 25th Street. Free Manatee Center a short walk north.

Good facility and great folks running it. Clean nice showers, good shore access reasonable price. With a SSCA discount you can come ashore, shower, dump trash and recycle and grab a drink or a bite to eat when the bar is open for $12. Not bad. Only problem we had is there is little in the way of Pump out in the Lake Worth area, certainly no municipal sponsered or run boat. However, the inlet and the 3 mile limit are only an hour off!
As of Jan 2016 they have laundry facilities. Even more perfect!

convenient dinghy location, 2015-12-07

Easy anchorage at lake worth. easy dinghy location at sailing club. lock it well. nice staff.

Good break spot, 2015-01-20

Stopped here for one day, two nights at anchor Took advantage of their daily rate of $15 for visiting boats. Discounts available for SSCA members. Club has food on Wednesday and Fridays.

Walked 3 miles to downtown West Palm Beach, ate a very nice French restaurtant,Penache.

This is a great place to connect with shore while waiting for a weather window to cross to the Bahamas. The staff, Susan and Elise, are super friendly and accommodating.

For a small fee you can use the dinghy docks, showers, access strong wifi that will reach far out into the anchorage if you've got a booster, fill water jugs and they even have a happy hour on Wednesdays and Fridays with food service as well.

You can catch the city bus just a short walk up the street to get to the grocery store. $2 each way or you can get a day pass for $5 if you're making connections or multiple trips. Seniors ride at reduced prices.

They will also accept mail and faxes for you and call you when they arrive.

The office is open from 9 to 5. Dock your dinghy on the outside of the floating dock, walk through the boathouse (pale yellow building) and across the lawn to enter through the door on the north side.

Don't use the black hoses, they are non potable water. We found that beaching the dinghy on the sand to the south of the dock and running our water hose to the faucet on the west side of the boathouse was the most efficient way to fill jerry jugs. (Use the faucet on the outside wall that uses the same water as the drinking fountain in the boat house). They also have filtered water inside but we didn't want to lug the jugs. Ice is also available.

This place makes waiting for days for weather so much more pleasant.

Friendly place, 2015-01-09

Have to agree with the other reviews. The people here are friendly and go out of their way to help.
wifi is spuratic unless your in the club house.
For the price this place can't be beat.
pick your time to walk through the neighborhood we didn't experience any problems in the week we enjoyed the club's hospitality.

Very welcoming, 2014-04-29
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (72)

Club personnel are incredibly friendly and helpful. For a very reasonable cost ($11 for a day with the SSCA discount, additional discounts for longer terms), we got dinghy dock access, trash disposal, hot showers, facility access, and greetings from everyone we met. Wifi signal is strong and fast well out into the Lake Worth anchorage. Showers are neat and clean. We'll definitely make use of their hospitality the next time we're in the area.

Some nice members, 2013-09-28

No security, dodgy neighborhood, poorly maintained.

Very friendly club, 2012-12-11
Captain: , West Palm Beach (90)

A great place to dinghy ashore if you are anchored in Lake Worth. Member owned, new comers welcome.

warm friendly laid back club, 2012-12-08
Captain: , Hampton, VA (2573)

If your anchored out in Lake Worth, this is one of the few places to land. Reciprocal privileges allow access to all facilities and dinghy dock....for $50 per week / $150 per month. Cruisers invited to participate in club functions including happy hour, BBQ, etc.

Although this part of West Palm Beach rapidly becomes a bit seedy away from the waterfront, its safe enough during the day to walk a few blocks to Rt. 1 to catch a bus for shopping.

They will receive packages and mail.

The friendliness is a welcome respite in S. Florida.

Update: reciprocity with yacht clubs and discount for SSCA members. Otherwise dinghy dock rate is now $13/day

Cruisers Oasis, 2012-04-14
Captain: , Nyack, NY (646)

This member owned club is very cruiser friendly. They have a dingy dock, showers, rest room, wi-fi, parking and limited bar and food service. Staff and members are very outgoing and helpful and rates are reasonable even though the Palm Beach area is generally expensive.
