Complex policy around resturaunt. If you have a normal reservation with the resturaunt and are appropriatly dressed casual or better (shirt, long pants, shoes) then your all set to enjoy the full menu. Your option to sit inside main dining area, sushi bar, outside main area, or outside bar area. As the sushi area has only a sushu menu, the outside grill and bar area has a menu focused on grill and bar.

If you drop in without a reservation or your reservation is only with the dock master and not the main resturaunt, then your seated at the bar and grill area unless the main resturaunt isn't full.

Reviews for PRIME Restaurant - Private Dock
Resturant, Active Night Life, Live Entertainment, 2016-04-01
Captain: , Huntington, NY (2311)

This is one of those rare resturants that scores high in all three of food, service, and decor. Frequently has live entertainment and has many patrons that come dressed to the nines.

Bar and Grill: Expect to spend $25/pp + drinks
Full Resturaunt: Expect to spend $100/pp + drinks

Approaching from the water, there is a dock master monitoring channel 9 and available to assist.

(change for 2008) The dock is $3/foot, half of which you get a credit to spend on food. If you come in without reservation (for the main dinning area), docking without reservation just gets you access to the outside bar & grill.

The approach to the dock is especially easy as the dock is parallel to the shore and there is no current

decent food, great setting, day vs night, 2015-08-03

great setting with an excellent new dock and solid dock master. like many restaurants on the water, the food takes a back seat to the view but it's good enough. only note of caution is that while weekend lunch is pretty civilized all things considered, Friday and Saturday nights are full-on, Strong Island Cougar central.

easy approach and dockage fees are deductible from the meal tab.

A Scene worth the Trip, 2012-05-28

The trip in to the restaurant takes you past some homes worthy of those on the Gold Coast of Long Island. The slow ride in is most pleasurable. It is best to make reservations. The dockmaster is an experienced hand and will make your arrival as easy as possible. The dockage is about $3 per foot, but they give you a "gift card" which can then be applied to the cost of the meal. If you bring your appetite or a guest you will have no trouble using the credit. The food at the restaurant is good and the people watching even better. It is definitely a place to remember for those special occasions.

The only reason the rating is not higher is because no services are offered.

Good food and great people watching, 2011-07-27

Its a nice restaurant with lots of different seating and drinking alternatives. Food is good drinks pricey. The crowd is diverse and entertaining.

Upscale waterfront dining, 2011-05-11
Captain: , Glen Cove, NY (108)

One of the better waterfront restaurants on Long Island, especially for steak and sushi, although very pricey. They charged me $75 for dockage (27 ft. boat), but they give you a debit card worth $75 to be applied to your meal. Staff at the dock and inside was courteous and friendly and the food was excellent.

As if the TV show Jersey Shore moved to NY. Way too many LOUD power boats.

Nice location but expensive and mediocre food, 2010-07-21
Captain: , Huntington, NY (20)

I've been to Prime twice, once in the main dinning room and once on the deck. They only serve fast food on the deck, got a salad in a plastic container and a drink. There are better resturants nearby and not as expensive. I believe they charge for the dockage even if you eat there. Check before you book.
