From the G15 at Lloyd's Point, follow the buoys to the G1 then the G3 and into Oyster Bay Harbor. Continue south following the eastern main channel, (south of Moses Point) which provides skippers with thirteen (13) feet at mean low tide, then head west. The dock at OBMC is easily identified by the large ValvTect fuel sign, where the marina supply both gas and diesel fuel. There is twenty-two (22) feet of water dockside at mean low tide, and the marina can accommodate boats up to 160 feet in length. Upon entering the harbor, contact us on VHF 71 for further directions, or to request a mooring. OBMC has guest moorings for those who would prefer to be on a mooring. The marina has a launch service available for going ashore.

Reviews for Oyster Bay Marine Center
Very nice anchorage, 2016-08-02
Captain: , Herrington Harbour, MD (230)

Very well run and maintained mooring. We scheduled a mooring for our large boat in advance with no difficulties. Launch staff guided us to our mooring ball as this was our first visit. They also helped with a fouled line on the mooring.

Launch shuttle to and from the dock was fast, efficient and very politely run.

Easy walk to town. Taxis quick to arrive at the marina for longer drives. A great place to visit. Be sure to visit President T. Roosevelt home at Sagamore Hill

Great place, 2015-08-14
Captain: , Mt. Sinai, NY (232)

We stayed on a mooring for one night (Aug 8, 2015). Price was reasonable. Launch operators were great - quick service, friendly, and very helpful). The showers are clean, the store is well stocked. We needed a plumbing fitting after one broke and caused a fresh water leak. Two crew went ashore to shower and find the the part. The launch operator came back 5 minutes later and delivered the part to me!

Very short walk to town, lots of restaurants, etc.

The area (except for the large tanks) is beautiful.

Very Pricey but goes with the territory, 2015-08-10
Captain: , Ocala FL (515)

The service was excellent with the manager loaning us his personal car to go for medical care.
Dock hands, however, nearly knocked me into the water. Kids in need of training. I let the management know and they were going to take care of it.
The dock space is limited and most people moor. The shuttle boats from the neighboring yacht club do not follow a "no wake" in close to the docks, but neither do the OBYC shuttles.
Walking down the docks is treacherous as the dock lines are not flemished let alone moved off to the side and hose are everywhere. A real trip hazard.
At $5 per foot, I'd expect a more professional staff and dock operations.

Very efficient, well run operation, 2015-08-02
Captain: , Centerport NY (30)

Be sure to cut through the fence to go through the park and across the tracks into town. If you go to the end of the long drive, you'll add mileage. Unless you're going to the grocery, which is down that way. Beautiful place.

Reliable and peaceful, 2015-07-20
Captain: , Liberty landing marina (60)

The mooring fileld is spreadout and the launch service runs regularly. No waiiting onboard for 30 minutes for a pick-up. Showers are resaonably clean and well kept though the town is a wee bit depressed. Train to points west to NYC city is five minute walk from dock.

Great location and operation, 2014-10-28
Captain: , Mount Sinai (140)

Spent several days on one of their moorings for the Oyster Festival on October 2014. Launch service very good and fast. Though in the off season it shutsdown at 6 PM. Showers are basic but, clean and have plenty of hooks in the right places including in the shower. Handy for hanging things. Great location for visits to the town and the Oyster Festival. Fun watching the Oyster dredges digging up Oysters from the harbor bottom while having my coffee in the morning.

Good spot., 2014-09-30
Captain: , New York (264)

Professionally run, reasonable price. Showers are great! Closes early, so get your ice before they close. If you don't, there's a liquor store 6 blocks away.

Beautiful Harbor Decent Marina, 2014-09-01
Captain: , Rochester, NY (200)

We really enjoyed our stay. Were happy to get a dock with shore power. Easy walk to nice town with a couple of good restaurants and shopping. Harbor is pretty with nice boats and beautiful estates to look at. Bathrooms and showers not the greatest but otherwise we enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.

Very busy people and very efficient, 2013-10-23
Captain: , Vancouver (510)

When I arrived I was permitted to tie up at the fuel dock for at least an hour to let off my crew and shower. Peter (shuttle operator) is a great guy and knows a lot about the area-let him help you, he is punctual and prompt to take you out to the mooring and returns promptly to get you when you want to go into town or just go ashore and jog. This marina seems to be undergoing an upgrade so I did not expect the facilities to be like a 5-star hotel.

Generally friendly staff, 2013-08-01
Captain: , Byram, CT (708)

You can tie to the dinghy dock even if you don't get a mooring from them and nobody will hassle you. You can also pay $5 to use the showers, or take a mooring and get launch service and showers included. The showers are a bit primitive but adequate, I'd rate them "average" for cleanliness.

Great launch service, nice town, 2013-06-07
Captain: , New York, NY (470)

Pretty harbor. We stayed on a mooring (at $1.50 per foot.) Nice group of kids running the launches--prompt, friendly, competent. Showers/bathroom old and run down, one of the showers had poor water pressure. Short walk to town, plenty of food options, cute park. On the launch ride we met some friendly locals who showed us around town.

Terrific harbor and friendly staff, 2013-06-06
Captain: , Key Largo (152)

Lovely harbor .. Lots of sail activity .. More akin to New England than Long Island .. Add good launch service and walk to nice town .. What more could you want !

Pretty marina close to town, 2012-09-27
Captain: , Mamaroneck, NY (50)

This very busy, yet pretty and easily accessible marina makes a nice place to stop. We were there for the afternoon, walked into town (short walk) and relaxed on the boat for a while before sailing home. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely setting and everything you need for a nice day or overnight on a morring or at the dock, Would gladly return again.

Desperately in need of updating, 2012-09-06
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (3132)

Showers are nearly primitive, woman who answers the phone is surly. Dock/launch staff were nice enough. If anchored, you CAN use their showers for $5. If I come back here, I'll try Sagamore YC instead.

The town is pretty run down, and not cheap.

Not So Great, 2012-09-01
Captain: , Stuart, FL (1019)

We were not very impressed with OBMC. Mooring was far east from the marina. Filthiest, bug-infested, barnacled mooring lines I have ever picked up. Had to use gloves so as not to cut my hands on the barnacles as they crushed against the gelcoat. Told this to the staff and was assured someone would come out and clean it (after the fact!). They never did. Tried to pay for mooring twice but the attendants were all busy pumping fuel (to be fair, it was Friday of Labor Day weekend and they were very busy).

Not impressed with the town. Decent provisioning. For the money ($1.50/ foot for a mooring!), I'd rather be in Northport at Seymour's for $55 a night.

friendly dock staff and good store, 2012-08-29
Captain: , Hampton, VA (2573)

We anchored out and came here with our dinghy. Launch crews very accomodating. Well stocked store!

Very close to Taby's Burger House, 2012-08-24
Captain: , Rye Boat Basin (407)

Make sure you call before arriving -- (516) 624-2400 or VHF Channel 71. They have very convenient moorings available for a reasonable price ($25/day as of August 2012); free launch service available. Once on land, you can take a stroll to the center and have lunch or dinner at Taby's Burger House (28 Audrey Avenue - (516) 624-7781).

PUMP OUT SERVICE, 2012-08-15
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (552)

Free pump out is operated by the town, not OBMC. They respond to Ch 9 or 516 322 1391 after 10:00AM. Once I found that out all was smooth.

Great staff, efficient launch servcie, 2012-08-03
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (7374)

Spent night on the dock, rest of the week on a mooring ball. Easy in/out to the docks, staff there to help with the lines. Floating docks getting new decks summer 2012, work in progress and should be finished 100% by spring 2013. Pump out boat will come your slip or mooring ball. Very efficient free launch service that ran late into the night.

A nice place to stay, 2012-07-30
Captain: , Midland Ontario (660)

Dock staff are helpful and people are friendly. In addition to moorings, the long outside of the massive floating dock provides room for any size vessel. We would stay again.

Captain: , Bartlett, NH (150)

We anchored out but OBMC allowed us to use their dinghy dock. Nice folks.

Full Service marina, 2011-08-04
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

Very nice place to enjoy Oyster Bay. Launch service, ship store and good mechanics. Dinghy around and explore or walk to town or the the large town park facility.

A Port in a Storm, 2011-06-13
Captain: , Boston (60)

Ducked in here to escape an incoming thunderstorm. Beautiful area, good restaurants, good service. A very protected harbor.

Great Launch Service, 2010-07-20
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (465)

We always take a mooring. Launch is quick and couteous. There is a pump out raft in the harbor - self serve - manual pump. No pump out facility at the marina. Occasional wakes. Train station is adjacent to marina.

Good service, 2009-09-20
Captain: , Bristol, Rhode Island (2741)

They actually had a Person answer the phone when I called! Friendly, professional, and courteous service for a weekend overnight in late summer.

And what's not to Love about Oyster Bay, where downtown is a five-minute walk from OBMC's parking lot?

Great for parts, 2009-08-14
Captain: , West Point, NY (34)

Anchored in Oyster Bay and the head failed. Called OBMC on cell phone and they ordered parts that were delivered overnight. Charge for parts was better than well known stores' sale prices. Short walk to town with many eating choices and a market that had a decent variety for provisions.

Nice stop, 2009-08-11
Captain: , Stuart FL Middletown RI (240)

Spent one night on a mooring. Good launch service, excellent restroom/shower facilities. An easy walk into Oyster Bay, which has several good restaurants and a decent hardware store. Overall a very satisfactory place to stop.

Our local fuel Dock, 2009-07-22

one of my favorite marinas, 2009-01-29
Captain: , Stamford CT (12)

Great friendly service. Short walk to town, restaurants and shops. Attractive setting.

A great stop on the way north., 2007-07-09
Captain: , Great Island, Maine (323)

Spent 2 nights here. One at the docks and one on a mooring. The rates were very reasonable ($25 for the mooring). Sagamore Hill is a good attraction that is an easy bike ride away. Wild Honey Restaurant, an easy walk, was a high point on our return from the south. The marina people were friendly, helpful and seemed knowledgeable. Free launch service is a real plus.

Oyster Bay moorings, 2007-07-01
Captain: , Clearwater, FL (551)

We spent one night on a mooring. The town of Oyster Bay is a short walk away. There are an abundence of shops, a hardware store, restaurants and at least two ice cream shops right in town. This is a very popular weekend destination. Long Island RR station is close by.
