Reviews for Osprey Point Marina, Inn and Restaurant
A Nice Place for a Stop, 2016-10-16
Captain: , West River (95)

Another great stay at Osprey Point Marina. Our first was with a rendezvous in June 2016 (we also took delivery of our boat here in December 2014).The dockhand was very help with securing the boat and hooking-up power. The docks and facilities are maintained in good shape. The only down side, was the bird poop on the docks (a pain when jumping on and off the boat during docking, and attaching power and water), which we cleaned-off once secured and got our hose connected. The marina offers a BoatUS discount for transients and the welcome packet provides adequate details on the facility and Rock Hall, which is a very %u2018walkable%u2019 town (or a tram is available for $1 per person until November). Onspot provides the wifi for the marina. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights of our stay. Thursday night was local night and several dishes were offered at a reduced price, which we took advantage of. Friday night was Prime Rib night and the small restaurant was busy, but we were able to sit at the small bar to eat. Amy, the bar tender provided great service. We highly recommend the scallops!!We look forward to another stay in the future.

Nice all around, 2016-08-03
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (28)

Nice floating docks with helpful staff during arrival. Plenty of cleats and easy access to water & electric. Didn't check for pump out. Reasonable walk to bath house and pool (both in great shape, very clean). Dumpsters not too far away, but the staff golf carts will haul for you. Nearly no bugs (last weekend in July). Marina provided charcoal for grills too. County has $1/person shuttle to town.

We'll be back!

Nice Place, 2016-07-17
Captain: , Arnold, Md (50)

Quick over night with the crew. Nice floating docks and good power. Squeezed a 16'9" beam in a 17" slip no problem. A little shallow getting in and kicked a lot of mud up. Lots's of grassy areas to run the dog around and the restaurant was very good.

Great Restaurant, 2015-10-12
Captain: , Berwyn (250)

Celebrated a special occasion here had a great dinner

Great stop again, 2015-09-20
Captain: , Somers Point, NJ (170)

This was our second time in as many as years and we liked it as much as the first. There are some new people running the marina but they are very eager to help and good at what they do. Just one quick call to let them know the wireless wasn't working and they had someone on the dock to fix it. The restaurant in the Inn is fantastic.

Peaceful Stay on the Bay, 2015-08-15
Captain: , Woodbridge, VA (60)

Wonderful, relaxing stay. Friendly and effecient staff, exceptional dock hands. Floating docks. Convenient facilities. Pool w/ snack bar, resturant and Inn. Well manicured grounds. The Rock Hall tram service to town was an added convenience. Be advised many shops and resturants are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

VERY NICE !!, 2015-08-11
Captain: , Frog Mortar Creek, MD (180)

Wife and I spent the night of 8/1/15 in this very nice marina/resort type facility. We also stayed here last year. And we have reservations for Labor Day weekend. This marina is maintained very well. It is clean, landscaped, and provides for most of your needs. Although, I do not believe it has a working yard. The owners asso own Gratitude Marina a short walking distance. Last year we tried the restaurant/bar. Very good. Wife likes the pool which offers food/drinks. Facility also has a rental "farm house" and additional rooms in the Inn. Bikes are available to use in this samll town. We plan to bring our extended family to this marina for a small vacation next year. Town has a responsive trolly service. Marina is located a very short walking distance from the adjacent marina, Haven Harbor, which has an outdoor bar and a marine store. Our favorite breakfast place is Muskrat Alley, a hidden gem, located a short walk/bike ride away. Favortie pancakes, The Lester. While there on Sat nights check out the entertainment at The Mainstay, a short trolly ride to town. Wife and I caught a bluegrass group on our last stay and during Labor Day plan to attend a performance by Modern Man, a cross between Crosby, Stills & Nash and the Marx Brothers.

1st Time, but not last!, 2014-09-02
Captain: , Browns Cove, MD (402)

We had a fantastic 2 night, 3 day stay for 4 boat group over Labor Day Weekend. Staff greeted us and provided excellent directions to slip. We also received great instructions from office staff with leaflet and info about property and a Rock Hall. Restaurant accommodated our party of 10 and gave us amazing service. Pool staff and facility were terrific. Bath house was kept clean and was more than adequate. Next night we opted to reserve a grill with picnic table. Marina provided charcoal and made sure we had everything we needed. Floating piers are in fantastic shape. Overall outstanding. My only comment, And not an issue for me, but from a service stand point I might only suggest pier staff offer to assist with power and water hookup to be sure all are working. We did our own and I don't mind, but at $3.25 a foot (holiday weekend), that would be a nice touch, however, I'm nitpicking. This is a top notch facility and I will be back!

Not so much, 2014-08-20
Captain: , Onancock, Va (60)

Arrived on August 4th for 2 nights. Not helpful in finding our slip. the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday....... It was ok just not my cup of tea........ AWOL III

Weekend visit 12-13 Jul 14, 2014-07-22
Captain: , Annapolis (30)

A very well kept marina with immaculate grounds and pool area. Dog friendly. Restaurant has a great reputation; recently changed chefs, but we found the dinner entrees to be excellent. A bit pricy at $2.75 per foot, but it was a weekend. Floating docks, rental keyaks and bikes.

Still good, despite Greta's departure, 2014-07-20
Captain: , Cherry Hill (237)

I reviewed Osprey Point several times in the past. Up and down the bay and even in our home port in NJ and probably much further, Greta Sommers is well known and highly respected and all have heard she is no longer dock master here, and all are concerned about the future of Osprey Point. And we all know she was a lot more than just dock master. She did it all. Maybe the owners knew how far and widespread Greta's reputation is, but my guess is they didn't know they had one in a million while they had her. I think the slip holders there would have glady kicked in higher rents if they knew the money was going to the cause of making Greta an offer she couldn't refuse! Anyway, enter Will as the new dockmaster. Our stay was 2 nights last weekend, so it's hard to tell but so far I think Will is doing a great job and he has tough shoes to fill of course. After helping tie us up, he was kind enough to inform us the pool grill was closing soon, so we should get our "last call" order in if we're hungry. It's those little acts of thoughfulness that make a special place. Our experience overall was still very pleasant despite our favorite dockmaster not being there.

We "live" here!, 2014-06-12
Captain: , St Petersburg FL (65)

This is our 3rd year keeping our boat here and living on it for the Summer months (we live in Florida otherwise). This location has consistently won Cheseapeake Bay awards for best marina, dock master, etc. It is a class act. Wifi even with recent improvements can be spotty on the outlying slips (where we have our boat). We have gone to a Horizon hotspot full time to handle our internet needs as repeated attempts by Osprey have not fuilly corrected the shortcomings. Our concern currently is that the driving force behind this outstanding location is leaving for an opportunity elsewhere. Time will tell whether ownership selects someone to replace the uncomparable Greta Sommers, General Manager until June 16, 2014.

Osprey Point Marina, 2013-08-28
Captain: , Pennsville, NJ (195)

Very well kept marina. Floating docks are in great shape and spacious. WiFi, bikes, nice clean pool and bath house, kayaks, picnic area. We were assigned a slip in A dock. Be careful on approach, keep R4 to starboard and slide in between the docks and the private shoal cans. If you try to cut the corner at R4 with anything over 3 feet of draft you will not get far.

Pirates' Weekend, 2013-08-26
Captain: , Annapolis (795)

We stayed here for Pirates' and Wenches Weekend, August 10-11, 2013. Marina is very well kept. Greta was excellent. We made reservations a year in advance and the staff did not forget. The place is nice, but pricey. It is close enough to walk to town.

Great staff, 2013-08-21
Captain: , Sunset Harbor Marina (85)

Spent the Pirates & Wenches Weekend there with five other boats from our Yacht Club. Greta was outstanding in getting everyone a slip and working magic with ever-changing plans! Facility was great, staff was great. I think the "holiday" rate of $3.35 per foot was too much but that seems to be the going rate for that weekend. All of the Rock Hall marinas need to re-thinkl that.

Very Nice Facility, 2013-08-06
Captain: , Midland, Texas (50)

The floating dock is in very good shape, the showers were clean and the pool looked very nice, however I did not have the opportunity to use it. The only negative is that the restaurant is expensive and even though the food quality was good, it is better in other nearby restaurants.

Nice Friendly Marina with a Very Good Resteraunt, 2013-07-15
Captain: , Annapolis Md (280)

Have stayed here twice. The staff in helpful and the floating docks are great. Heads and showeres are good and the resteraunt is a very nice touch with good food. The location is close to the town of Rockhall Md. All in all a very nice place to stay in Swan Creek.

Nice Marina/Will Come back, 2013-07-14
Captain: , Georgetown, MD (30)

If you come to relax this is a nice spot - pool is nice and has a small snack bar - shopping is convenient provided the tram is running - we were here saturday and sunday - saturday was great - sunday we got stuck but the marina staff picked up the slack and drove us into town - walking really is not an option - I thought the marina was clean and well kept - I enjoyed my stay plan to come back

Osprey marine, Overrated, 2013-07-07
Captain: , Virginia (60)

I'm not sure why everyone rates this place so high. We stayed here this past weekend, (July 4th) and we were not impressed. We were charged the "Holiday Rate" of $3.35 a foot, so far our boat that equated to $110.00 for the night. You would figure that by paying the holiday rate that would allow them to bring on additional staff to ensure good service and clean facilities, but that's not what we received. The bathroom/showers are decent, but not kept very clean, the pool is OK, as is the rest of the marina, but it in no way equates to the priemiumper foot they are charging. We've stayed all over the bay and for the level of facilities they are giving I would say $1.75 to $2.00 per foot would be about right. Also, the town of Rockhall is no St Michaels, Annapolis, or even Cambridge as far as shops, resturants or history goes. We might give Rockhall another chance, but at a different marina.

Tremendous, 2013-05-29
Captain: , Sue Creek-Harrington Creek (337)

We stayed here 3 nights due to a major storm and wind conditions. Gretta is tremendous. Cannot say enough about their service, grounds, and facilities. 6 stars.

Nice place to stay, 2013-04-09
Captain: , Worton Creek, MD (290)

Convenient to Rock Hall, and a very nice facility. I would stay there again, easily.

Great marina, 2012-11-04
Captain: , Baltimore (90)

Outstanding restaurant, great facilities, beautiful setting

Excellent place to relax, 2012-10-11
Captain: , Londontowne, MD (470)

Great floating docks, very helpful dockmaster and staff, great pool, and excellent (although not inexpensive) onsite restaurant. If you don't need service or fuel (see Haven Harbor, next door, also excellent), Osprey Point is the place we've found to most relaxing to visit.

Beautiful Marina, 2012-10-04
Captain: , Stuart, FL (909)

Follow the navigation marks and advice. Dockhand was there to help us. She had us assigned to a 17-foot wide slip that we barely fit into with our 15-foot beam. It was more like 16 feet wide. However, we were against an inside face dock and were able to drop back a bit to avoid pushing against a pole.

The grounds are very beautiful and the Marina staff were very helpful. Laundry and showers/heads were very clean. It is a very peaceful, quiet setting.

We walked into Rock Hall. Everything was closed, either because it was Monday or because the season had ended. Found a big waterfront bar over in Rock Hall Harbor that was open with four people at the bar. Looked like a happening place in the summer!

Everywhere we walked, it was very quiet with almost no one around. Although the marina was quite nice, the town didn't seem to have much to offer.

Greta, the Dockmaster, is awesome!, 2012-09-14
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (250)

Osprey Point is a beautifully-maintained, quiet, serene marina and Inn. The grounds and the floating docks are impeccibly-maintained. Greta is so consciencious and helpful! Other slipholders are OP are mature and responsible, making the whole scene just calm and good. Pool is always clean and there's a dock-side grill on weekends where the guys cook excellent burgers, hot dogs and other good stuff, to order. There are bikes to rent to explore Rock Hall. There's a playground for the kids, a beautiful, rustic farmhouse... Osprey Point is simply my favorite place. Sincerely. I'm a slipholder now (and intend to be one for many years to come).

Great Marina, 2012-09-03
Captain: , Sue Island, Maryland (131)

Very nice setting with floating docks.
No cable TV, but solid WiFi included.
Clean pool and a nice healthy walk to the town of Rock Hall.
Did not try the restaurant this trip.
Returned toward the end of summer, and the restaurant was fantastic. I would strongly recommend it.

Single Night at Osprey Point (5/26/12), 2012-05-29
Captain: , Deale, MD (347)

Very nice marina. Clean and well serviced amenities. Staff is very helpful and friendly...even provieded transportation to/from dinner in town. Trolley service not yet up and running as of Memorial Day weedend. Recommend "The Kitchen" fonr dinner. Small but great food. Good ice cream right across the street. Live music at "The Mainstay" was worth the time.

Osprey Point Marina - Home port, 2012-03-13
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (45)

We keep our 38' Catalina Morgan here. Floating docks, skilled marina manager, meticulous grounds and an outstanding resturant. Swimming pool and bikes are available.

First class marina!, 2011-09-17
Captain: , Rumsey Island (330)

Excellent marina, very clean and well-kept. Great floating docks, extra clean bathrooms and wonderful pool. Restaurant very good.

Great Marina, 2011-08-02
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (130)

Beautiful Marina with excellent management. Facilities are excellent, including the floating docks, pretty grounds, bath house facilities, bicycles, kayaks, and etc. Restaurant is very good, and they have a very fun wine tasting event each Thursday. We have also stayed in the Inn and the rooms are very nice

Clean, with a very good restaurant, 2010-08-10
Captain: , Cornwall PA (421)

This marina is meticulously clean. Nice grounds, bicycles available for a trip into town, nice pool. We had brunch there and really enjoyed it. Definitely not a "cheap" place, but well managed.

Osprey Point Marina, 2009-09-02
Captain: , Monches,wi (330)

Heed cruising guides advice when entering Swan Creek...do NOT attempt to short-cut across Swan Creek bar if you draw over 4'. The approach into the basin is thin; wait until high(er) tide if in doubt. Don't suggest entering at low in the dark with 20+ kts winds blowing. Personal experience.

Once in this is a terrific place. Greta, marina manager, is great. Inn is a first class dining experience.

Osprey Point, 2009-08-20
Captain: , Treasure Island, FL (330)

Our 56 LOW boat stuck out quite a bit - they're a marina which caters more to smaller boats. The approach was shallow but we never went below 5 feet. The marina was, as one review already said, quite pretty and meticulously well kept. The pool was absolutely perfect and filled with lots of people with a poolside cafe for light fare. Bathhouse was beautiful. The only problem we had was the price which seemed very high especially that electric charge! We didn't eat at the restaurant but understand from friends that it is very pricey but very good.

Inn's Restaurant is Superb, 2007-07-23
Captain: , Baltimore (51)

Wife and I visited July 07. Cannot comment on Marina except to observe it is immaculate, meticulously maintained and calm. We dinghy'd in to the Inn, had such a fabulous meal that we returned the next morning for brunch. Food is as good as any in the region, service is efficient and friendly, and prices fair. Diners are surrounded by world-class watercolors of Chesapeake water scenes, executed by a popular Eastern Shore artist.
