Reviews for Osprey Marina
Outstanding Marina, 2016-09-20
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (310)

We loved our short stay here. The staff could not have been nicer - best goodie bag on the ICW. Very well protected.

Sweet Little Marina!, 2016-09-12
Captain: , Fort Myers Beach, FL (100)

Like everyone else has said, great friendly people. Nice, secure cove right off the ICW. The best goody bag and they even had an awesome little snack treat for our pooch! We will be back! Oh yeah, and the diesel price was the lowest we've seen in a while.

All about Miles, 2016-08-26
Captain: , Nicholasville, Ky (30)

Planned to stop here, but not with a bad A/C water pump and 100+ heat index too. Miles the dockmaster had a name and number. The tech was on our boat the afternoon we arrived. That was just the beginning

Ended up staying here while we left the boat for a couple of weeks and then returned with a 10 yearold grandson.

My consensus is that Miles is the heart and soul of the marina. He is a local, but has been everywhere. Australia,Hawaii, California, and places between. He is where he wants to be. Has respect for the owner of the marina, and I sense it is reciprocated.

If you have a need, Miles will do his best to accommodate whatever you need.

Sherry, the office manager, takes a little longer to get to know, but pleasant and Osprey Marina is a great stop. Low fuel prices and dock rates, but the wifi is almost unusable. ATT signal is also not great. One or two bars max. Still a great little marina!

Laughter on 08/17/16, 2016-08-17
Captain: , Burns Harbor Indiana (881)

We stayed two nights. Really cute Marina. Pretty full, would recommend calling ahead for reservation. So excited to see a Marina at $1.00 a foot and cheap fuel! The staff are really friendly. Even found us a ride to get a rental car. Bagels, oatmeal, jam that they sell there and good coffee available in the mornings.
Immaculate inside and out. Only suggestion is an inside spot for wifi after office/lounge close at 6:00.

great stop clean and quiet, 2016-08-11
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, FL (70)

the dock hands are right on top of every thing. fuel is reasonable . at least one restaurant will pick you up. always a great stop for us

Great little well protected marina, 2016-06-29
Captain: , Havre De Grace MD (130)

Made a quick stop here for fuel because the fuel dock at marina we wanted to stop at for the night was going to be closed by the time we got there. Very helpful deckhand. Clear water on the fuel dock all the way back to the sign that marks the rocks.

Good bad weather stop too, 2016-06-03
Captain: , Wilmington DE (782)

We make it a point to stop here every trip. Always a pleasant experience and the best fuel prices in the area. We are staying longer this trip to wait out TS Beryl. Osprey is very well protected!

Stayed five days to wait out SS Sandy this year. Once again a really fine facility and staff. BUT, the pumpout is wimpy and if the tide is low, it has taken an hour to empty our tank. Management needs to put the pump on the floating dock. This is the third or fourth time I've made the suggestion.

6/1/2016 Pleasantly surprised to learn that they have a new, powerful pumpout. As always, great staff.

Great Stop, 2016-05-22
Captain: , Southport, NC (120)

Great fuel price, best transient rate, and best welcome bag of any stop, not to mention the friendliest people to greet you. I just cannot say enough.

bananas needed, 2016-05-21
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (40)

Captain Ian has been looking for his morning banana for the last three stops to no avail. Believe it or not, Sherry had sent someone to the local market 2 miles away.
We checked in and was greeted with a bunch of beautiful bananas. I now have a happy captain.
This place is a hidden gem!
Aside from the economics, which goes without saying, this is a "must stop" on the ICW.

Can't say enough GOOD about this INEXPENSIVE Marina., 2016-05-13
Captain: , Senaca Lake Geneva, N.Y. (220)

Call before you enter their channel!!! Miles dock master does it all. Dock kids are very helpful. Enterprize Rental cheap on wk ends. A BUCK A FT. GREAT!!

Osprey Marina, wonderful !, 2016-04-29
Captain: , Blanco, TX (420)

Agree with all the excellent reviews. Another one of these places plan was a night or two, stayed more than a week. The folks here are wonderful, knowledgable and accommodating. Great fuel prices, dock prices and a wonderful goodie bag included.
Will make this a stop always when coming this way.

Great Overnight, 2016-04-28
Captain: , Sandwich (692)

Easy access off ICW. Sheltered cove. BoatUS members fuel, power, and dockage very reasonable. Friendly helpful staff. Clean docks, laundry, bath and shower facilities. Evening brought a hooty owl. Dining is a 2 mile hike or call a taxi or get food delivered. A pleasant overnight stay.

Osprey Marina, 2016-04-25
Captain: , Southport, ME, USA (1158)

Still a great spot for the reasons originally mentioned. The restaurant now charges $10. Enterprise will pick you up for a rental car. Don't miss Brookgreen Gardens. It's about a 30 min car ride and well worth the trip.

This is one of our top picks. Everything here is great: people, prices, facilities. Local Italian restaurant will pick you up, take you to dinner and you can get groceries before they drive you back to the marina.

Dockmaster Miles Worrell excellent, 2016-04-25
Captain: , Phoenix (100)

We limped into Osprey single engine. Miles and staff knew about this ahead of time and had an easy in-out slip for us. There were 5 people standing by to help ease us into the slip. When it was time to leave, he again had lots of help standing by who basically lined us back until we could throw a stern line to others waiting on another dock to pull us back into position for a direct exit. Also a nice goody bag of useful items upon our arrival. Clean shower, nice laundry room.

Good Value, Quiet, Protected & Clean, 2016-04-20
Captain: , Hobe Sound, Florida (450)

If you need to catch up on some sleep with no rock and roll or slap-slap of wind-driven chop, pull into Osprey Marina and settle in for a night or two. Very friendly and sincerely helpful staff, a decent store stocking the basics, an unparalled greeting package and exceptional value for fuel and dockage.

Wonderful marina, 2016-04-18
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (1900)

11 4 2015 Stopped for Diesel (good price), free pump out, stayed night. Clean showers and nice laundry room. Wonderful staff. Coffee and donuts free in the morning. Fantastic goody bag they give you with lots of yummy and good stuff for you and the boat. Had pizza delivered to marina. This will be a regular stop for us when we travel up and down the ICW. Reasonable dockage rates :)
4 17 2016 stopped again ..... Excellent diesel price for fuel filled up again. Staff very nice and friendly. Morgan was very helpful and friendly. Bought ICW way of life shirt and hat :) & got another nice goody bag.

Great fuel stop, 2016-04-17
Captain: , Boyd, Texas (390)

Best price around for fuel & free donuts! Good dockhands. Fuel dock is a bit tight but at the time they were full with transients.

Great Diesel Price, 2016-04-14
Captain: , Fort Monroe, VA (722)

Stopped on 4-14-2016 for diesel at $1.89/gal. Boat US discount reduced price by $.10/gal. Dock hands were on the spot, catching our lines and very helpful. Suggest calling Osprey before entering their channel as the fairway is narrow and if a boat is at the fueling dock it may be difficult to maneuver to wait. I did not stay beyond fueling but the facilities took top notch, well organized and clean. That is why I provided a five star rating. This appears to be a great storm location if space is available.

Great prices great service, 2016-04-06
Captain: , Kingston, Ontario (90)

Stopped here again on way north 5 April 2016. Diesel price $1.77 (10 cents less with BoatUS). Great service. Easy in / out.

Ditto everything that was written before...., 2016-04-03
Captain: , Oxford, MD (610)

We always stop here for fuel because you cannot beat the price and it is an easy in and out, help at the dock, etc. We have stayed overnight twice. Usually we like to anchor out in Cowhouse Creek because it is quiet and surrounded by nature. This is a close second and comes with amenities and friendly, competent staff, and you cannot beat the price of dockage and electric! Miles oversaw our docking for fuel and then guided us expertly to our overnight slip. It was a dead low tide but because of the sheltered, calm conditions in the marina, it was fairly easy in a confined space. We are a 37' power vessel with single screw, bow but no stern thruster and we are happy to be here!

VERY tight quarters, 2016-03-18
Captain: , Richmond, VA (181)

1978 Morgan 45, single screw, no bow thruster
This marina is terrific, but not for our boat. This marina has many outstanding qualities; knowledgeable and friendly staff, clean, great welcome bag, and complementary snacks.
On the down side, unless you are exceedingly competent in performing a standing turn, have a bow thruster, or you are under 40' this marina may not be your first choice.
The marina could really benefit from a courtesy car. Although the Italian restaurant advertises that they will pick you up, we would have had to wait over 5 hours for an available driver. We then contacted 2 Taxi companies and neither were still in business. We finally settled on utilizing Uber. The fare was $21.37 each way for a 15 mile trip for a slice of pizza. (Note, due to road Construction, the normally 7 mile trip turned into a 25 mile detour.)
All in all, this is an excellent marina for a smaller boat.

Can't beat the price of slip or fuel, 2016-02-10
Captain: , Bear, DE (390)

Stayed overnight in early November.

Entrance is easily identified from the ICW. Harbor is nestled in forested area which provides excellent wind protection. Fairways are narrow and some slips can be challenging to get into if you are over 40 LOA; however, there are some which are an easy in an out if you let them know you have concerns about your ability to maneuver in tight spaces. Dockhand was very helpful in getting us into our slip and settled. Docks are floating and in good condition.

A welcome bag with pastries and other items was provided. There is a ship%u2019s store which provides some marine and food items. The restrooms and showers are clean. Only one shower in the women%u2019s restroom. Two washers and two driers for laundry.

Fuel prices were among the lowest on the ICW with BoatUS discount. Dockage rate was absolutely the lowest I have seen: $1.00 per foot for the first 3 nights $0.25 per for nights beyond 3 nights.

Great Transient Stop, 2016-02-07
Captain: , Fort Myers, Florida (581)

Came in just before closing. Friendly, professional staff got me squared away. Well maintained facility with plenty of water depth. Protected from wind and current. They have everything I need. Now my marina of choice in the area!

Very pleasant stay , 2016-02-06
Captain: , southport nc (30)

I stayed one night and received a goodie bag. The dock store was well equipped with snacks, local jelly, wine and beer. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Thank you for the pleasant stay. Oh, cheapest fuel anywhere.

Very Very Nice, 2016-01-23
Captain: , Titusville (44)

We called the Osprey marina on our way down the ICW to check if there was space for the night. They were very pleasant and assured us there was room. Because we were running late they called to make sure things were ok and to tell us that marina info (bath codes etc.) would be in a dock box. We were pleasantly surprised to find along with the info, a jar of marmalaed and some crackers. The next morning fresh coffee. We would stay again.

Like staying with family, awesome little place!, 2015-12-22
Captain: , Solomons Maryland (10)

We pulled into this little marina after not liking the looks of the bigger one up the icw. I cannot say enough about how wonderful, friendly and professional the people who work here are as well as the owner. We were going to stay for a night and ended up staying for a month on our slow trip to key west. It is a small friendly place that is beautifully maintained and well provisioned. They even gave us a ride to the store when we needed. Lots of room for the pup to play and walk as well. Thank you guys, this is certainly one of my favorite marinas on the east coast and we look forward to coming back to see you all!

Wonderful place with many benefits, 2015-12-18
Captain: , Sterling, VA (50)

We needed a place to leave the boat for a holiday trip home. They found us a slip and being so well protected gives us comfort to leave for 10 days. Nice bathrooms, great morning coffee and lite treats too! No courtesy car but staff offered to take us to airport! Rates very favorable as posted by others and we met other cruisers using local service providers for repairs recommended by Osprey staff with good fair results and cost.

really enjoyed our stay, 2015-12-15
Captain: , Gloucester (70)

What a nice marina. Pleasant atmosphere. The deck help was great. The staff were courteous and helpful. They give us a nice welcome bag when we arrived. The showers are really nice and clean. Good size laundry room. Prices are very reasonable. One consideration, the grill is closed and there are no restaurants or stores nearby and there is no transportation. We did, however, enjoy walking by the farms and recreation area.

A great stop, 2015-12-08
Captain: , Belfast Maine (20)

Well marked, easy entry. Great help on dock. Friendly, courteous staff. A goodie bag! Highly recommend this as a great place to stop.

A Little Tight for Boats Over 50 feet, 2015-11-17
Captain: , Solomons, MD (882)

Osprey has three things going for it: (1) The quality of the staff, (2) the price of fuel and (3) those wonderful little welcome bags. For larger boats, however (50+ feet) the fairway can be very tight, making it difficult to maneuver -- especially when departing My only other suggestion? It sure would be great if they had a courtesy car.

wonderful two night dtop, 2015-11-16
Captain: , Milwaukee WI (547)

very lovely secure location. staff is friendly and helpful. floating docks. nice boater lounge offering continental breakfast. fuel and docking price combined was what we often pay just for a slop. highly recommend this stop

One of the Very Best, 2015-11-14
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (602)

I could list all the things I like about Osprey Marina but my typing skills are not very good and it would take a long time.
We will stop at Osprey on every chance we get.

Most awesome marina ever!!, 2015-11-08
Captain: , Oriental, NC (190)

Stayed 11/1 and 11/2. We were trying to get ahead of some weather and called mid-afternoon to let them know we'd be there between 5:00 and 6:00. They were on the docks when we got there a few minutes after 5:00. Facility is well-maintained. Customer service is top notch. The only thing lacking is a loaner car but we were able to catch a ride to Walmart with a staff member. Will definitely stay there again.

Top of my list, 2015-11-07
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl. (71)

Great staff and good price for dockage and fuel. $2.00 gal for diesel on 11/6/2015. A local Italian restaurant will pick you up and take you back for $10.00, and will wait for you to get groceries next to the eatery, plus, very good food.

One Of The Best, 2015-11-06
Captain: , Sebastian, Florida (387)

+ Very sheltered key hole basin.
+Easy entry and easy access to fuel dock.
+ Very helpful staff.
+ All prices are a bargain. “Welcome” bag provided with all kinds of goodies and information.
+ Staff claims no bugs – and we did not experience any.
+ Very nice floating docks with full length finger piers.
+ A bit tight between the docks but the basin is extremely sheltered.
+ Very nice showers, facilities, and laundry room with multiple machines.
+ Free wifi at the docks.
+ Staff says: “We are in the middle of no where – but there is an Italian restaurant that will deliver’.
+ Very quiet place.

Very enjoyable stay, 2015-11-06
Captain: , Michigan City, IN, USA (150)

Our stop at Osprey Marina was delightful. This was the first dockhand in a long time that knew how to tie up a boat. Other boaters came to help me get in, not necessary but a wonderful gesture of just how friendly this place is. The staff is very very nice and able to answer questions, you can tell they know what they are doing. The entire place is clean, no it is actually spotless. Easy access of ICW, good wifi, excellent protection from waves and wind, our tv antenna picked up several local stations. A restaurant grill at the marina office that worked for us. The liveaboards here are very friendly and helpful. Overall a very delightful stay. The website does not do it justice, it a very nice place.

Great Marina, 2015-10-31
Captain: , Mooney Bay, NY (30)

An excellent Marina with easy access off the ICW. Marina staff were helpful. Fuel price was excellent.

Wonderful Marina, 2015-10-30

Beautiful stop along ICW - great facilities - lots of grass for walking the pup.

Friendly & Quiet, 2015-10-19

We came in here for the second time this afternoon, took on fuel and stayed the night. Richard, Carson and Sherry were very helpful and friendly-this is going to be regular stop for us.

Great Stop, 2015-10-19
Captain: , Little River, SC (208)

Stayed 10-17-15. Great marina. Entrance is a little tight but easy to maneuver. Staff was great and had us tied up, fueled, and good to go in no time. Would be nice if the snack bar was open but was not an inconvenience for us. Would stop there again for sure.

Fuel stop for me., 2015-10-15
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1796)

4-28-13 diesel $3.429 with Boat US, best price I have seen. Facility 3 stars, nice people and good price makes this a 4 star stop. Will always try to stop here for fuel.

Diesel was $1.96 with Boat US on 10-14-15, marina in good shape after storm and seems to be functioning normally. Best diesel price!!!!
10-14-13 Stopped for diesel, price was 3.719 and .10 discount for Boat US. Water depth in channel was 13 feet at low tide.

Friendly People, Great Hurricane Hole, 2015-10-08
Captain: , ft lauderdale (20)

We road out the flooding, October '15. No current, protection from the winds, and very quiet and peaceful place. Highly recommended.

What a Gem, 2015-10-04
Captain: , Hollywood (360)

We draw 6' and this place was ideal to ride out the historical wind/rain/weather from "Joaquin". Tall trees and a buffered entrance provide total protection, a can't be beat rate and fuel prices that are the best. That, and management that are a pleasure to deal with on any subject that will satisfy your boating needs. Remote, yes, but not isolated.

High wind hide-away, 2015-10-01
Captain: , Seven Oaks, South Carolina (185)

Great hiding hole for high winds, good fuel (diesel) prices.

All of the other reviews are right!, 2015-09-29
Captain: , Jacksonville (90)

This is a very protected marina right off the ICW. They have good rates and fuel prices and the people are very friendly. For $10 round trip, the Italian restaurant in town will send a car for you. A very pleasant night.

Fantastic!, 2015-09-06
Captain: , Rochester, NY (100)

All of the great reviews don't lie, this is a great marnina. It's tucked in nicely off the ICW with no current. Friendly staff and great facilities. Their marina store/shop has a variety of food items and beer/wine.

Begging turtles..., 2015-08-15
Captain: , Honolulu (531)

Stayed 7/22/15, $1 per foot plus electric. The entry into Osprey is a tight little channel, on the positive current! The facility is modern and clean with floating docks. they give you a welcom packet with home made jelly, crackers, etc., and a basic continental type breakfast. Great value with lots of extras! Bonus was the herd of turtles congregating on the swim step begging...that was a first.

Swag and more, 2015-08-03
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (185)

Even without the swag, a great place to tie up. Or, rather, be tied up. Dockhands some of the best I've seen. Even flemished my lines. Marina is rather spread out, so golf carts are provided to guests to use to get to office and shore facilities.Very friendly and helpful office staff. Getting in and out is a "little tight" but their channel seems to be current free and well protected from wind.

Best SWAG ever!, 2015-07-27
Captain: , Sunset Beach, NC (1122)

In all our travels we've never received such a SWAG package. As previous poster said, home made jelly, saltines, pecan twirls, a postcard, a whistle and some other items, all in a nice little bag. Add to that the cheapest fuel anywhere. I give it only four stars because a working restaurant onsite would be good. They have a snack bar but it wasn't open.

Excellent Bargain!, 2015-06-12
Captain: , Sunbury, Ga (352)

Miles and his staff were excellent in tying us up, pumping us out, and hooking up electric. Awesome goody bag was given to us when we checked in. Fuel was $2.449 with Boat US discount. Very clean restrooms. Quiet and protected getaway off the ICW. Fantastic bargain. Will be back.

Great Marina, 2015-05-30
Captain: , Bay Point Marina, Marblehead, OH (180)

We traveled 11 hours today and stopped at Osprey. What a great, freindly place this is and it is tucked away back in a cove which is beautiful. We filled up with diesel at just $2.55/gal and only paid $1.00/ft dockage + $5 for 50amp! They have a small convenience store, some boat parts, beer and wine, charts, shirts, etc. When we checked in we recieved a Welcome Bag from Sherry loaded with lots of things like sweet rolls, homemade jelly, crackers, laundry detergent, softner sheets, cozy, pen, calendar, and info. We were quite impressed. The dock hands were awesome. This is a great stop.

another great stop, 2015-05-28
Captain: , Kenlake Marina (52)

just pulled in after long day. nice to have great dock hands, friendly staff. and the new pump out works wonderful. we have a large tank and high lift and frequently have problrms pumping put. NOT here. this thing works great and dock crew now how to use it

5 Stars is not enough!, 2015-05-27
Captain: , Georgetown, South Carolina (91)

Just leaving after another enjoyable stay at Osprey. These folks define southern hospitality. Great facility, cheap fuel, super nice staff. It just doesn't get any better.

excellent staff and place to stay, 2015-05-01
Captain: , Toronto (230)

Knowledgeable staff that is there to lend a hand.
Great fuel prices and the gift bag at check in is a nice touch.
Great stop highly recommended!

Sometimes you get more than you pay for, 2015-04-21
Captain: , Atlanta (770)

We stayed the night of 4/17/15, was greeted with helpful dockhands and a goody bag that actually had some usable goodies in it, including Waterways Marina guide which we will use on way north. Facilities are clean, nice. It's good to be back in the $1.00/foot neighboorhood, after FL, GA, Hilton Head higher prices.

A nearby restaurarant will pick up/return you to the boat ($10 charge which I hope/assume goes to driver); restaurant was not inexpensive (entrees in the $20 range, although they had less expensive items, too), but very generaous portions and excellent food - well worth it. After eating, went to grocery store next door before the drive back to marina.

Cheapest fuel I have seen in traveling from Chattanooga to here: pump price was $2.459, less 5% Boat US discount which brought it down to $2.36. In ride to restaurant, I saw gas station prices for diesel at $2.96.

Again, this is very rural setting, and not for everyone. We enjoyed easy, flat walking and feeding the goats.

the Best yet, 2015-04-19
Captain: , Little River, SC (323)

I haven't been in all the marinas in the world, but this is the best I've used. The dock hand took our lines and put us in a tight space at the fuel dock. No drama. Then he did something remarkable, something I have not seen done at any other marine. He actually tied a proper cleat hitch. Really. A proper cleat hitch. I didn't have to retie all my lines. Then he used a Flemish coil on all my lines. Can you believe it. He brought steps to ease the step down to the dock. He brought absorbent mat with the diesel nozzle.

When I went to register I was given my Boat US discount and a goodie bag that included honey bun and cinnamon swirls for breakfast.

This is a well protected marina where you could weather a hurricane. Great place to stop. Give it a try.

great service, lowest fuel price, calm protected floating docks, 2015-04-17
Captain: , Ft Myers, Florida (1663)

Great overnight stop. Get fuel $2.37/gal last night w/ boat us. $1.00/ft plus electric. $10 round trip ride to great Italian restaurant.Outstanding customer service attitude. Miles the Dockmaster very helpful. Great goodie bag upon check in.only negative is the trees dump on your boat at night. We sprayed off boat in 10 min this morning. A must stop, 2015-03-20
Captain: , Ottawa (303)

Stayed here March 14 2015. Although the marina was closed due to our late arrival there were local volunteers to help us tie up. A wonderful welcome package with lots of treats was left for us. This is a very clean and nice marina with friendly staff. Fuel was the cheapest I had seen so I topped up as it was to go up .06 cents the following week.

Stay here every pass. I'll stop here even if it is noon. Good staff, good fuel prices. Shopping isn't too far, but you can't walk. No restaurant on premmises but they keep trying to get someone to open their snack counter.

Fabulous Marina, 2015-01-09
Captain: , Clayton, NY (645)

We left our boat here for 7 weeks and it was WELL taken care of by Miles and his staff. He turned the heat on when the temperature dropped. He hosed off the decks so the falling leaves would not stain the deck. He kept a very watchful eye on our boat. We only spent a few days ourselves at the marina, but that time was also enjoyable. They offer a lovely continental breakfast in a beautiful clubhouse. The bathrooms are modern and clean. We used the Osprey corporate discount for Enterprise car rentals and got a very good deal to rent a car to travel to the North Country for the holidays. We did have a couple windy nights and the marina is well protected. We will definitely stop here on our way back north. I almost forgot. They have a lovely welcome bag with delicious homemade jam and woderful information about local facilities.

We stayed only one night, did some laundry and showered. We got a great gift bag on checking in, what a great surprise. Facility was clean and nice, friendly people. Wish we could have stayed longer. Nice little store too.

Does Osprey management give a damn about customers?, 2014-11-28
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (1288)

If Osprey Marina management really gives a damn about customers, you couldn't prove it by me.

We needed fuel and planned to stop there to take on a few hundred gallons. It was the day after Thanksgiving, so we called to confirm that they were open. The recording said the ships's store was open from 8 am and gave a number to talk with a real person. We called that number and got another recording. But on the strength of the first recording saying the ships store was open, we turned in and went alongside--nobody there to help us secure our boat alongside. I walked up the icey ramp at 9 am to find big CLOSED sign on the door. Nobody home.

Is it unreasomable to think that if Osprey Marina's management really cared about customers they'd take the time to revise what must be their standard phone recording(s) to say, hey, we're closed for Thanksgiving weekend?

If they're so short-sighted on this, what else are they missing?

Do you think I'll ever go back again?

Wanted to get a quiet spot and stay for a night, ended up staying 3 nights. Laundry machines were clean, personel were so helpful and will difinatly come back in spring. They offered to drive us, and did drive us to town. A loaner car would be great, but still give it a 5 star

When I stay ay inexpensive facilities, I expect less than ideal conditions. However, this was not the case here. Everything top notch and clean. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very protected in a blow.

One of the Best, 2014-11-09
Captain: , Stuart FL (478)

The location is amazing, just off the ICW but sheltered by woods all around. Facilities are excellent, clean and up-to-date. Floating piers. Discounted fuel. Friendly, competent and helpful staff. What's not to like? It's easy to see why so many boaters, we're told, return each year.

Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (1134)

Return visit several years later and the complex has gotten even better. Still the same unique "deep in the woods" ambiance; same friendly and helpful staff; new docks, good power. Left some personal belongings in the office and went off to dinner. Returned and the office was closed. Staff had put the belongings back on our boat!!!

Excellent marina at a phenomenal price that comes with welcoming, helpful, staff who even stayed late for us. It is a nature lover's paradise, with amazing bird life, turtles that greet you and manicured grounds where your dog can get a good run. Super quiet. A goody bag that beats them all. It has not only great information, but also cheese and crackers. cookies, key chain, pens and more. No bugs! Very clean. If you try it you will like it.

Captain: , naples, florida (90)

Wonderful for overnight. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
No restaurant but you can get a ride to the local Italian for a super dinner and then step next door at a full supermarket open late and then a ride back to the marina, 10 minutes, and the roundtrip is only ten dollars.

Great Stop, 2014-09-14
Captain: , Sanford, Fl. (887)

We still find Osprey Marina a real bargain for dockage and fuel. They consistently have the best price around. We really ove the piece and quiet!
We stopped here again on 5/28/13 for fuel and overnight. It is one of the cheapest places around to buy fuel. However, the fuel dock is not really big nor is there a lot of area around it to wait in line for fuel. The people are all very helpful and the marina setting cannot be beat for peace and quiet.

What a great stop! Helpful and friendly staff and probably the quietest marina on the ICW. Dock, water and power are all in good shape, people are friendly. There is really nothing close by, one of the restaurants (5 miles away) will come pick you up for dinner and bring you back. If you are over 40' the manuvering can be tight but because it is a keyhole marina there is no current in the basin. There is a zoo (Wacatee Zoo) about 1.5 miles away and is well worth the walk.

Remote from everything, nice!, 2014-08-24
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (532)

Stayed here almost two weeks, as we took a road trip to visit family, fortunately we did as we were informed it was BIKE WEEK in Myrtle Beach, and not the peddle type. Very nice folks, excellent facilities, good fuel prices. A word of caution, there is 90#'s of water pressure at the pedestals. I split my supply hose, bought a new one from them, split it first night. They did trade it in on another. Throttling will not help if no call for flow, hose will eventually pressure up to 90#s.

Love this place, 2014-08-20
Captain: , Lizella GA (1414)

You get there and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The welcome bag is awesome, it has a little of everything in it from snacks to key floats to shampoo and jelly. The dockmaster even gave me a ride to get my boat trailer and then they let me store it there while I sailed for a week. All the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. You can't go wrong staying here if you like really nice but out of the way places.

Well protected, good price and good help with tie up. Nothing near and no provision to get to store or restaurant. Would trade honey buns in welcome bag for ride to grocery. Shower rest room good. Hooks, chairs and bench all welcome. Even a changing table in the mens room (didn't try it). Wifi good but cell reception (sprint) and xm music very weak.

Wonderful Spot, 2014-05-11
Captain: , Hampton NH (252)

Had this marina not been previously rated so highly we would have anchored at the Oxbow just to the south but the prices and high rating intrigued us. Glad we stopped. We agree with all the previous comments but want to add one thing: NO BUGS--even in the middle of a cypress swamp! We could have left the door open all night even in May!

Great New Transient Dock! [Now extended!], 2014-05-09
Captain: , Essex, CT (1121)

UPDATE: May 2014: They have just completed extending their alongside transient dock - now twice as long for up to 6 boats.

Their new transient dock is great, along the left side of the canal as you come in. A brand new, high quality dock with all of the usual, along with trash cans right on the floating dock. It is, however, a long walk to their office from there, but you get a golf cart to use.

As others have posted, the best fuel prices and most importantly, the friendliest staff we've encountered on the entire ICW! When the complimentary [UPDATE: now $10] pick-up car from the (fantastic) italian restaurant was 15 minutes late, an employee insisted on driving us on her way home.

Overall, a great place and experience.

Beautiful sheltered spot, 2014-05-08
Captain: , Silverthorne, CO (373)

This marina goes out of their way for you. A beautiful, sheltered spot, at a very reasonable dock fee. Plus, they give you a goody bag with tons of great stuff, and continental breakfast with Krispy Kremes, bagels, etc. They had no problem with our friends leaving their car there an extra day. That way when we retrieved the car we got to go to Brookgreen Gardens, well worth it.

FIRST CHOICE, 2014-05-07
Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1523)

Beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff, good fuel price, what more could you ask. We were attracted by the rates and fuel prices and were very pleasantly surprised at the level of service. We left the boat here for a week, filled up the tanks and were on our way very pleased with our choice.

Now we understand..., 2014-05-04
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2964)

Osprey Marina has been on our list of must visit marinas for years because of their consistently high ratings. Twice we've planned to stop and some life event prevented it. So this year we decided that one way or another we were stopping.

All I can say is don't wait as long as we did. Now I know why boaters love this place. It's a beautiful setting in a very well protected basin with plenty of depth for our 6 foot draft. The whole facility is clean and very well maintained. There's plenty of places to walk the four-legged crew, including past the goats which they found most interesting. They have the most interesting and unusual welcome bag - if you don't get a jar of the red pepper jelly in your's then make sure to buy one in the store!

But the best part was the people, both the staff and the other boaters. The dockhands were professional and helpful. The boating community there was welcoming. And everyone was friendly. Do not miss this stop.

Osprey Marina, 2014-04-30
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (30)

Great Place. We found the best price on fuel here. They give Boat US discount on fuel. Marina is very clean. Staff very friendly.
Washers and dryers $1.50 each. There is a loung area, with free coffee, tea and hot coco. Bagels and donuts. If you spend the night they give a you goodie bag. This is one of our favorite stops.

We enjoyed our stay, 2014-04-28
Captain: , Eau Gallie, Florida (140)

Pulled in here to do some boat maintenance and found a gem. Nice facilities and people. You will be pleased. Aptly named, an Osprey sat in tree for while yesterday near us.

nice marina, 2014-04-28
Captain: , Newark DE (110)

We stayed at this marina for four nights. The rate averaged out to 88 cents per foot per night. The staff are super friendly and you even get a great goodie bag. The pump out is not so good, however, which is why we only gave it four stars. Their fuel is the cheapest around. Good laundry facilities and clean bathrooms. You can have a Continental breakfast provided by the marina for free. Will definitely stay there again.

A Great Marina and Staff, 2014-04-24
Captain: , Cape Coral, Fl (838)

We stayed 3 nights waiting for parts and the staff was very nice and helpful. The facilities are excellent and the price is a great value. Also diesel is the cheapest we've seen in a while. It's a little remote and we had to rent a car , otherwise we'd give it 5 stars.

I have brought 2 boats in here (85%u2019 & 70%u2019). Both with no bow thruster and no problems getting in or out. Great helpful people, great prices, very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend them.

Great Stop for anything you might need, 2014-04-15
Captain: , Christmas Cove ME (120)

We have stopped at Osprey for years and always been impressed with their hospitality and professional manner. The fuel price is posted at the entrance and will usually be the best in the area. Overnight docking is $1.00 per foot and the facility is beautifully kept. Highly recommended.

Gator Alert!, 2014-04-08
Captain: , Branford, CT (900)

This a great spot and we always stop when migrating. BUT recently an 8 foot gator has taken up residence in their lagoon. They have applied for a permit to get rid of him. If you are on the transient dock, use the supplied golf cart rather than walking to the marina office. Also, watch your pets!

Hopefully someone will post when the gator is gone.

Small marina with a first class presentation, 2014-01-22
Captain: , New Bern, NC (466)

The directions to get in were helpful. There isn't a lot of room, but the depth is great right up to a few feet from the shore. Suprised me. Fees were modest and the goody bag they gave out was outstanding; jelly, soap, laundry soap, sweets, etc. Internet didn't work the first night but they got it fixed in the morning. Staff was top of the line.

Captain: , Stuart FL (805)

!9 October 2012
One ou usual stops on the way south. Staff always helpful and and facilities more than adequate. Laundry and shower available 24/7. If you need supplies they are a little hard to come by since nothing is close by. Enterprise will pick you up if you need to rent a car.

WiFi and cell coverage is a bit weak and you have to search for "hotspots" but they can be found. Also a great marina if the weather turns really nasty.

Great find!, 2013-11-30

An ICW marina that has it all at a price nobody can complain about. Especially if you stay more than 3 days when the rate drops to $.25 per foot per day. Enterprise Car rental will come get you and drop you off for $10/day on the weekends.

Very nice and budget friendly, 2013-11-28
Captain: , Ottawa (1173)

We stopped in here at the last minute to get power to run our electric heater through a night with below freezing temps. Very nice floating docks in good shape, nice facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. Can't beat this for $1/foot.

Protected and First Class service, 2013-11-16

Deep up to the shore and great hole for hanging out if you don't need close services such as grocery and restaurants. There is a person who will come and get you for those needs, for a small fee. Complementary breakfast items, wonderful dockmaster and helping hands, friendly staff, nice little store, clean heads and showers. Absolutely no complaints!

Osprey Marina, 2013-11-14
Captain: , Quoset Daviseville Naval Yacht Club (250)

Easy access in and out, Marina is tight but plenty of hands on dock to help you navigate your boat in and out. They have also added 300 feet of dock, no current or wind to mention. Diesel is 3.61 gallon on 11/14/13, docks are in excellent condition, clean bathrooms and they have limited coffee and assorted items in the morning.

Mills is dockmaster, Richard, and Gene work with him, fabulous individuals that cannot do enough to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Very knowledgeable about area as well as ICW.

Do not have restaurant on premise but a local restaurant will send a car for you at minimum cost.

We paid $1.00 foot first night and .25 a foot for each additional night, we were here 7 days.

Great place, suggest everyone consider this as a nice relaxing stop.

Nice stop on the Waccamaw, 2013-11-05

Stopped on 11/4/13. It was our first time to stop. We have normally passed up this marina because we weren't sure how easy to get in with a 23 foot beam boat. We make it in just fine. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Restrooms and showers were nice and very clean. Welcome bags were a nice touch. Will stop again when in the area.

What a marina should be, 2013-09-24
Captain: , Cincinnati, Oh. (140)

What a surprise, this marina was beyond our expectations. Very clean, nice walking area, wonderfull associates that want to ensure your stay was plesant. A dollar a foot for the first two nights than twenty five cents a foot. This was one of the best values we have encountered in our marina stays. Compaired fuel prices, they were very competive so I took 150 gallons.

Great Find, 2013-09-20
Captain: , Southport, NC (706)

We came in on one engine due to fuel issues. The marina staff was very helpful getting us in to the closest slip (fuel dock) available. We changed all filters and left the next morning. I was very suprised at the goody bag and condition of the marina, store, bathrooms. Everything was first rate. This is how a marina should be operated. The lowest fuel prices anywhere around too. Coffee and bagels the next morning was great as well. The only thing keeping from the 5th star is location. Its kinda far away from everything. You cant really bike into town and see the sights. Other than that, it makes up the difference by being a really nice place to chill out. We will be back.

Excellent Marina, 2013-08-01
Captain: , Savannah, GA (320)

Great stop - off the ICW in a little cove but plenty of room for our 46'. Staff were great. Had made our reservations the day before and got a call from Lynn the next afternoon to check on us. Received a goody bag - only marina we have gotten one on this 20 day trip. Clean, convenient. Definitely would come back to this one.

what a gem, 2013-07-14
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (654)

we docked out on V dock and was provided a golf cart to get around the marina. We left the boat for 3 weeks and find it just as we had left it. Also the cheapest gas prices you'll find on the ICW and they will even pump it for you. We'll be back on th ereturn trip

Great stop, dont miss it !...AGAIN !, 2013-06-26
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (4176)

June 26, 2013 - When southbound, we had to come back to Osprey....even though we could have bypassed and anchored out. We love it here. The people here are great, great price (even charge you only $5 for electric), and always a good diesel fuel price. Its one of our favorite marinas.
May 6, 2013 - Great marina, great transient price, great staff, and great fuel price. THe only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is there are no stores nearby and they dont have a courtesy car. But this is not a place to miss. They even gave us a really nice gift bag of goodies when we checked in !! Nice Southern hospitality. We stayed 2 nights because we have friends that live nearby but WE WILL be back !

Great Marina, Great Prices, 2013-04-29
Captain: , Winter Garden, Fl (2153)

We stopped for the fuel, at least 30 - 40 cents per gallon cheaper than anyone else from Fla on up. Dock rates ate $1/ft for 1st three days - then .25/ft after that. There is plenty of water (fresh water) - an 80 ft yacht was just leaving after getting a 1000 gallons of diesel ahead of us. It has an approach canal off the ICW of 400 - 500 yds, so you don't get waked by 'inconsiderates' while sitting on a facedock at Barefoot Landing/Marina.

If they had their grill up & running it would be a five star...the Italian restaurant has great pizza - free ride back & forth.

Great stop...will make it a regular!

Captain: , Hampton, VA (291)

Pulled in for diesel fuel and the price was easily .50-.70 less than any other we'd seen since leaving Ft. Pierce. Very helpful staff. Only minor problem is that they only have one diesel hose so can only fuel one boat at a time. We were lucky and beat two large powerboats to the fuel dock.

Brooke Green Gardens a must, 2013-04-24
Captain: , Bayfield, WI and the ICW (1259)

It's a hassle to get there with the car rental issue and all, but it's a must see attraction, and your ticket is good for a week. It is the most extensive sculpture garden in North America and and will knock your socks off.

A Great Find!, 2013-04-18

We stopped here in mid December as a respite from dragging down the ditch, and stayed until mid April. What a wonderful location, anda staff that are among the most friendly and professional people we have ever met. We plan to return next fall fo another extended visit, as we have made many new friends at the marina. Thank you all!!!

Great value, easy access, 2013-04-17
Captain: , Bear, DE (230)

Nice, clean, quiet marina. There is plenty of water here, at least 10 ft on the short approach channel. The little marina store is pretty well stocked. At $1 per foot and $5 for power, this marina is a good deal.

The transient dock V is quite far from the office, but you can get a golf cart ride down the path. Wooded, shady setting. Free wifi, although the signal was a little weak out at V dock.

A local Italian restaurant, Scatori's, will come pick you up and return you to the marina if you give them about an hour's notice. The food was very good. There is a nice grocery store next to the restaurant, and you can pick up a few items right after dinner. Just tell them you need to shop so they can plan the driver's route. They also deliver pizza if you don't want to leave your boat. A really nice local service!

A Great Place for a stop, 2013-04-16

Wonderful Place, 2013-04-13
Captain: , Richardson, TX (552)

We had been here 3 years ago but didn't remember much about it because we were in late, out early. It worked into our schedule to come in here this time and it was just as well because after we left our anchorage, the starboard engine stalled a couple of times......fuel filter time! We came in to the marina and they were very friendly and helpful. We had ordered the filters ahead of time from a place nearby and Miles picked them up for us. We did the Italian restaurant thing too and it was very good. The bathrooms are spotless, it's a decent ship's store and the scenery is beautiful. They have built a new transient face dock since we were here and it's great being out there, like sitting in a forest. the dock is a long way from the rest rooms but no worries, the marina provides a golf cart for those who don't want to walk. It's a lovely walk through the woods though. We even found the field of goats entertaining. The marina recycles also which is a plus for us. All in all a great place, we'll be back.

New Transient Dock - Dock V, 2013-04-12
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

Osprey has a new floating dock for transient boats, located on the channel entering the marina. It is face dock with room for 3 - 5 boats. The channel is bordered by wooded marshes. It provides an experience close to anchoring in the Waccamaw, but with quiet electricity. The office/facilities are a long walk around the basin, but the marina provides a golf cart, or you can enjoy the exercise. The supportive and friendly staff combined with good facilities and reasonable dockage make Osprey Marina a great value. Most often they have the best diesel prices in South Carolina - another bonus.

Captain: , Fort Pierce Florida (300)

Finally stopped here after passing by several times. The total expereince was great. Nothing fancy, but just a great friendly place. Don't miss the Italian Restaurant, its outstanding. They will pick you up and bring back. Just ask. Definately a must-stop place.

Great little marina, 2013-04-06
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (110)

This was our first stop at this marina and we were pleasantly surprised by such a great marina. The staff are all very friendly, the showers and laundry were top notch, the locale is perfect to wait out the bad weather. We took advantage of the local restaurant's offer to pick us up and take us to their restaurant. The food was superb and we also had time to grocery stop in the top notch store next door. The price is one of the best on the ICW and they even give you a goodie bag and free donuts and coffee for breakfast!

Clean, Friendly, Affordable - Perfect refueling location, 2013-02-11
Captain: , Hilton Head Island (86)

Planned our trip from Norfolk to Hilton Head to stop here overnight and refuel. Glad I did - this place is spotless and extremely well managed. Don't be misled by the inexpensive prices both for dockage, pump out and fuel - this is a 5 star marina. Will definetly plan our return trip to stop here also.

Long Term Dockage, 2013-01-17
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (590)

Left boat here from 10/6/2012 to 1/12//13 while we up north. They kept us informed. Price very competitive. We drove to the boat several times and were treated like family. I think this is one of the best 5 marinas on the east coast.

Worthy of 5 stars, 2013-01-14
Captain: , New Orleans (651)

Read other reviews and just had to stop. Glad we did. Pristine scenery, great staff, complimentary breakfast and coffee, welcome bag included fresh berry jelly made locally just for the Osprey Marina. We took advantage of the free transportation to the local Italian restaurant. It was vexcellent. They offered to let us shop at the great grocery next door before returning to the marina. We will stop here again and are glad we followed the reviews that led us to this one.

Quiet and Secure with Nature all around, 2013-01-06
Captain: , Charleston SC (693)

If I could give this marina six stars I would. We stayed here for two nights on January 1st and 2nd 2013. (Nightingale was still there when we left!). This is the best marina we stayed at the entire 7 day trip. Very friendly staff loaned us a golf cart to get from the "V" dock (transient) to the marina showers and office for the duration of our stay. The Cypress swamp is all around and the quiet is amazing. The are no land traffic sounds. Both the gas dock and the "V" dock are easy to approach and the basin (being and old gravel quarry) has straight sides down to about 10 ft dept. It looks a little tight to swing our 50 ft sailboat with no bow thruster but in fact it was a piece of cake. This is a must stop for us from now on.

Osprey Marina is great!, 2012-12-30
Captain: , Kemah, TX (40)

After being half frozen at anchor, we decided to spend Adm. Beth's birthday plugged in. Two years ago, on our way by north, we looked in the fairway and thought, "hmm, nice place." We were nearby and came in for a night or two. The staff could not be more courteous or customer oriented. The facility is about 100 slips with up to 100' capacity, 50 amp 240 power and wifi/cable TV. It is nestled in beautiful scenery. The grill is closed for the winter, but a local Italian restaurant will deliver or drive you to their location and back. A high end Leows supermarket is right next to the restaurant.

I mentioned Beth's birthday in the marina office when checking in. When we walked back to see the immaculate laundry facilities we found that Lynn in the office had made her a bouquet of balloons.

Our final item? Both dockage and diesel are very modestly priced. It's a jewel along the way.

Osprey Marina, 2012-12-26
Captain: , Stuart Fl (300)

OCtober 2012 - Our second visit was as good as the first. We were delayed in arriving due to Hurricane Sandy. The dock master called us to work out the delay and reserved our spot until we decided we could make it there before Sandy. The dock staff was excellent staying late and coming in early to get us pumped out. Fuel prices were excellent. Dockage rates are the best around. We will visit again.

May 2012 - This was our first time here. It is very tight getting in with a big boat (53feet) and wind. We were docked alongside the fuel dock - a good spot. The dock staff was competent and friendly. Office staff also very good. Fuel pricing was very good. Got a goodie bag with all kinds of things in it. We will return to this marina.

Great place!, 2012-12-11
Captain: , St. John, VI (90)

We totally enjoyed this marina, tucked away in the woods of the Waccamaw River. You feel like you're so secluded at their dock! The warm welcome includes a yummy bag of goodies & doughnuts & coffee for breakfast! We stayed on the face dock & had our own personal golf cart to drive up to the facilities. They make sure you lack for nothing! Great place!

hard to beat prices. great secure and quiet location. cafe closed down a while back, so no easy nearby place to get food. very helpful marina staff

Comfortable little marina, 2012-11-28
Captain: , Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (354)

Secure, deep basin. Narrow inlet leads into marina. Very nice place to stop. Great gift bag.

Pretty setting, 2012-11-21
Captain: , Herrington Harbour, MD (680)

Nov 20th. Good fuel pricing , free pump out, but lousy internet.
It did not work in the boat, and I had to sit on the office porch in the cold to use wifi. Very silly, put up an antenna so your customers can use their computers will work on their boats. I would give the location a 5 star if the wifi worked better.

Our favorite marina, 2012-11-19
Captain: , Roseville MN (398)

well run, great marina manager and dockhands. completely off the ICW so no noise, traffic, or boat wakes. pretty shallow, but deep enough for a 6' draft boat everywhere. It is in the middle of nowhere, so very quiet. Restaurant gives free rides (Scatori; excellent Italian place in Myrtle Beach). Would always stop here on the ICW.

A must stop on the ICW, 2012-11-18
Captain: , Green Cove Springs (133)

Doesn't get any better in our opinion. They can accomodate our catamaran and the price is just right. The restrooms, laundry and office area are in great shape, the folks working here are helpful and friendly and if you don't go to Scatori's for dinner or have it delivered you are missing one of the best treats on the waterway.

Note: don't tell anyone will be way too crowded! :>)

Agree, this is one of the very best, 2012-11-15
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

Great extremely well protected hurricane hole and wonderful place to stay. We were greeted by very professional dock hands who helped fuel up. VERY GOOD price $3.67/gal for diesel. We ended up turning the boat for the night and staying on the fuel dock since we had arrived late. They gave us a lovely goody bag. They don't have a courtesy car, but there is a italian restaurant that will pick you up and take you to their restaurant, then take you to the store on the way back.

Great Place still great 2012 , 2012-11-14
Captain: , Galesville, MD (441)

If you are looking for a laid back stop, this one is for you. Service, a goody bag and a super price. Off the ICW, so no wakes. Will stay here again.

Perfect Place to Hide from a Storm, 2012-11-14
Captain: , Hollywood, MD (271)

We nedded to return home for a few weeks during October and November while on our journey south this year and there was no better place to leave our trawler than Osprey. Sandy went by with little more than some wind and rain. Aside from being well protected this marina has well maintained facilities, abundant hospitality and very reasonable prices. Thanks for a great experience.

Five Stars in every way, 2012-11-10
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (220)

What a wonderful marina. From the dock hand who waited for our late arrival, to help tie us up, and offer gas and pump out after hours, to the reasonable prices and goodie bag, this marina is 5 stars in everyway. What a breath of fresh air. WIll definitely look forward to another visit. (11/9/12)

Wow! No wonder they're #1 rated!, 2012-11-09
Captain: , Boulder, Co (319)

Not only are these folks pleasant and welcoming, but they had the cheapest diiesel price I've seen anywhere. And though my sailboat has a tiny tank, I got to take a shower and I got a free cup of coffee. All around, a great place to stop.

Osprey is a class marina, 2012-11-08
Captain: , Where ever the hook is (573)

We stayed here to weather the cold on our way south in Nov 2012. The plan was to stay a few days but we extended due to more cold. The staff here is awesome, friendly and helpful, the rates are actually resonable, all Marinas need to take a lesson from this Marina, charging $1.50 per foot per night is highway robbery and charging more than that is simply gouging. Osprey charges $1 per foot per day for the first three days, then .25 per foot for up to 30 days. This place is full and the fair rates are why. All these Marinas that are sitting at 50 percent occupancy, even counting the transients, ought to take heed, Lowering your price will get you more revenuse than trying to gouge the few boaters who are crazy or desperate and end up paying your rediculous rates. And did I mention that Osprey is in top shape, the place is clean, modern and well kept. My hats off to the owner and the staff!

Go to the restaurant!, 2012-11-08
Captain: , Roseville, MN (362)

Arrived about 1:30 pm after going through the Socastee Bridge. Understood it opened at 15 min and 45 min each hour. But we were about a mile away at 12:43 pm. Called and ask how long the bridge would be open when it opened. Answer: the bridge would open in 15 minutes. Three other sailboats got there and two motor boats were on the other side. At 1:02 pm it opened. Has the timing for the bridge changed or is it on request. Called marina and got the kind of slip we requested. Very nice. Staff was great as were the laundry machines, the showers, etc. And then we went to dinner at the Italian restaurant. It was amazing food. Ride both ways provided by the restaurant. And got to shop at the wonderful Lowe's food store. Thank you, Active Captain for good info.

So protected!, 2012-11-07
Captain: , Camden, Maine (741)

I don't think my boat has ever been in such a safe place, which is great as I'm keeping her there for about four months. I second previous reviews about great staff and clean, super quiet environment. If you get a car check out Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk.

Osprey Marina - SANDY, 2012-11-04
Captain: , Kinsale, VA (91)

The 'BEST HURRICANE HOLE' bar none! We had passed by here numerous times, but had never stopped. With SANDY approaching, we decided to make reservations several days in advance, and luckily, they had room! We spent 6 nights at Osprey, not due to the storm (which didn't affect this area very much), but because it's such a neat and friendly place! AND, at $1/ft (and after 3 days, the price goes to $.25/ft) the price is RIGHT. Excellent facilities, best showers and laundry we've seen. We'll be back!

A Real Hidden Gem, 2012-10-18
Captain: , Port Elgin (10)

My only complaint with Osprey Marina is that we arrived late and had to leave early. The staff were friendly and super helpful. The marina was really quiet and they have no bugs. We met the dockmaster 3 days later moving a boat up the ICW and he recognized us and yelled greetings to us in passing. We will go back when we can stay longer.

What a great spot, 2012-10-05
Captain: , Amelia Island, FL (507)

The staff at a marina can make or break it. Osprey's staff is top notch. Miles and the crew went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The marina itself is a little oasis right off the ICW. It is small with a "hometown" atmosphere. The boaters who call Osprey home are friendly and most willing to share their local knowledge. It's a definite repeat if our travels bring us by again.

The VERY Best of Myrtle Beach!, 2012-09-18
Captain: , redondo Beach, CA (252)

So good I decided to live here! The staff is fantastic, the facilities clean and modern, and though the grille is closed now, they have free coffee and bagels every morning. Most def the best of Myrtle Beach.

What No Bugs! No Mosquitos!, 2012-07-17
Captain: , Stuart, FL (167)

Totally agree with everything previously written. We came in just before the fuel dock closed and stayed right there. The gentleman and crew were so professional in their handling of lines and getting us situated. I laughed when they said there were no bugs "Yeah, right!" but seriously, there were no bugs, gnats, mosquitos to interfere with our sitting topside and this in July in SC!! Also, nice shade from the trees nearby. I would definitely come here again, but would call ahead next time, as there are very few empty slips. Cleanest marina I have ever seen in 26 years of boating!

Extended Stay, 2012-07-08
Captain: , Sodus Point, NY (678)

We lost our mast last fall and spent 7 months here. Everything is exceptional. Being off the beaten path allows you to never have to lock your boat. Being so sheltered, you never have to worry about storms. We stayed ashore for awhile and when 65 mph winds were hammerinng the shore, we went to check on the boat and found just a light breeze. Very confident leaving the boat here for long periods. The freshwater also makes bottom growth a non issue.

Miles and his staff are excellent. They helped us raise our 60' mast with their forks. Never been done there and they were patient and knowledgeable. Not sure if they want to get into stepping masts, but they know the basics now. Plan to stop here every year.

Comfortable Stopover Spot, 2012-06-18
Captain: , Wagram, NC (144)

We stayed at Osprey two days waiting for clearing weather. The folks are friendly and provide exceptional service. Dockage rates were the lowest in the area. Easy in and out with deep water. The Grill was closed but a local restaurant will pick you up for a meal and you can provision while there and they will bring you back.

Great value for the money. We will return on our next trip.

Great fuel stop, 2012-05-23
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1081)

This is easy in and easy out, well protected, very helpful dock hand, and excellent fuel price.

Excellent Spot., 2012-05-11
Captain: , Shelburne, Nova Scotia (423)

We agree with all the past notations. Sad that the grill was closed as they produced a nice meal at a reasonable price. The only thing that I would say about the place is that it is a bit away from everything but the hospitality and facilities combined with a most reasonable price more than make up for that. Keep a sharp eye out or you'll miss it as it is only a narrow cut through into their site. There is lots of water.

Grill no longer in operation!, 2012-04-24
Captain: , Mystic, CT (382)

Everything that has been said previously. Saddly, the sort order grill was not open when we visited and the staff said they have closed it. They did provide a menu from alocal Italian restaurant that will pick you up or deliver to the boat. A very quiet, relaxing plce.

Best fuel prices and staff, 2012-04-24
Captain: , kingston (10)

Beautiful setting with lots of birds and wildlife (even goat farm) around marina. Very quiet place with clear water. Staff will go out of their way to make you feel at home, book swap, welcome bag with lots of goodies, wifi, rockers and picnic tables on deck, jars of roasted peanuts and mints, beakfast muffins and goodies with coffee are included in rate. It can be really blowing outside but you would never know while at this beautiful facility. Check out their great rates with you stay the 4th day - $.25/ft with Boats US number.

Agree with all positive notations, 2012-04-23
Captain: , Kent Island, MD (140)

Excellent, clean marina. Friendly staff. Even offer use of golf cart for docks that are nearest the ICW. Deep water. Good fuel price. Lots of extras in the ship's store. Wonderful restaurant in town, Scatoro's, sent a car to pick us up for dinner. Would definitely make this a regular stop.

Four day stop, 2012-04-23
Captain: , Cairns, Queensland, Australia (121)

This was a great stop. Great fuel price. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were on the long facing dock. they supplied a golf cart which was terrific to get around the marina. Went to Scatori's for dinner with 7 others, great food and they will pick you up. Good deep water all the way in.

Great Spot, 2012-04-19
Captain: , Monches,wi (330)

Stopped for one night while trying to outrun a t-storm. Very protected and amazing how many boats they get into a place that can't even be seen from the ICW.

very friendly people, helpful dock hands. Don't let the entrance intimdate you...plenty of water all the way in.

Great Marina, 2012-04-13
Captain: , Lewisporte, Nl. (619)

We stayed a week at this marina. The people are friendly and helpful. They took us to town to get propane. They give you a goody bag when you arrive. They have complimentary coffe and muffis in the morning. The facilities are clean and the grounds are tidy. The patrons affer to take you to town to shop, it was a very pleasant stay.

Captain: , Annapolis, MD (343)

This place is one of the hidden secrets on the ICW. We arrived late and the staff was very accomodating in getting us to our slip. Clean, deep water, and the best fuel prices since I don't know when. This is a must stop going in either direction on the ICW.

Great facility, 2012-04-03
Captain: , Southport, NC (916)

We gassed up here just before they closed for the evening and the staff was extremely helpful. At least 7-8ft MLW throughout the entry channel all the way to the front of the gas dock.

Heaping on the praise, 2012-03-15
Captain: , Great Falls, VA (1092)

You just cannot go wrong here, I have stayed here 3 times. No need to add to what everyone has already said. Worth noting though: northbound 2012 they had by far the best fuel prices, I am kicking myself for not fueling here.

Stopped on 11/02/11, 2012-03-10
Captain: , Bear, DE (255)

Don't go too fast or you will pass it. Tucked nicely back in the woods this great little marina has it all. Friendly and capable staff. Priced extreme reasonable. We will make this a standard stop.
3/04/12 stopped again on our return trip north and Osprey delivered once again. WELL worth the price, friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and protected setting.

Captain: , SeaScape Marina (310)

Quite secluded marina. Enough trees around to provide protection from most wind. Fuel and food available.

A nice, quiet place, 2012-01-29
Captain: , florida (230)

We like Osprey Marina a lot. It's clean and well maintained, and the rates are low. The staff are very friendly. It's far removed from any stores though, so either come stocked up or make arrangements with the staff who will take you for supplies when they can. The marina store does sell staples though.

A great stop.

Excellent Protection, 2012-01-26
Captain: , Wrightsville, NC (270)

When looking for protection, this marina is exceptional. You can miss it from the ICW if not paying attention. All amenities are well kept.

Really good Marina, 2012-01-18
Captain: , Salt Ponds, Va (535)

30' of water all over (well mostly), good floating docks, good people, and good rates. Showers and laundry are kept clean. The only thing keeping the 5th star off is the lack of any real food items in the store and no restaurant or snack bar. They do put out breads, muffins and donuts in the morning but I would like a good breakfast.
The rates are $1.00/ft for the first three nights then $.25/ft (works out to just over the monthly rate of $9.50/ft).
This is a very well protected marina and a #1 hurricane hide out.

Paradise of a Marina, 2011-11-30
Captain: , Flagler Beach, Florida 32136 (305)

What a Marina. Just perfect for a rest. Great people, Great docks and the whole place is 5 Star. I would rate this Marina the NO 1 between Tidusville Florida and Swansboro, NC. Will definately stop here again.

Can't beat the price for long term dockage, 2011-11-29
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1915)

We left the boat here over the Thanksgiving holiday. The price is right! Sheltered harbor, no wakes. Cable on the dock. Enterprise will pick you up. 2 large malls reasonably close. lots of restaurants in the area. COSTCO is near the airport. Very quiet location.

We agree with all the comments, 2011-11-22
Captain: , Half Moon, N.Y. (120)

After a recommendation from cruisers in front of us, we had to stop. Everything was true. We are looking forward to a break from almost 2 months of travelling. No better place to spent some quality relaxing time than Osprey Marina.

A+ The Best Marina on the ICW, 2011-11-16
Captain: , Newport, RI (204)

This is the best marina on the ICW! Call ahead to get a spot
9they close at 6pm). The petrol was cheap $3.59 with BoatUS Card. The Grille is closed but the goodie bag with cheese and crackers is the best! A+ guys ! 6-7 feet all the way, and don't worry they will get you in and out...Thanks

First Class Stop, 2011-11-15
Captain: , Mullica Hill, NJ (688)

Just as good as the first time. Will stop here again.
The only drawback is location. For a night of quiet this is the
place. It is far from any stores and also from any traffic. No wakes and no current. Lots of room to run your dog. People are top drawer friendly. We were tied up when I asked if there was cable TV, the dockmaster said not at this dock but I can move you if you want. We did and he moved us to a dock where there was cable.
An excellent stop. If you want to visit Myrtle Beach and plan to rent a car anyway the rate drpps from $1.00.ft. to 25 cents a foot after 4 days.

Don't blink or you'll miss the entrance, 2011-11-14
Captain: , Denver NC (329)

It's tucked back in there. But when you get back there it is so nice. The docks are in good shape as are the facilities. The marina is off the beaten path but a short cab ride gets you to everything Myrtle.

Cleanest showers/laundry, 2011-11-12
Captain: , Reedville, VA (688)

By far, the nicest restroom and showers around. Staff excellent not to mention the "welcome bag". Quiet place to stop, just off the waterway.

Great marina, 2011-11-03
Captain: , Huron Ohio (547)

Miles, the dockmaster, was wonderful. He was patient, friendly and very courteous. After a pumpout, he made sure we were comfortable with where he wanted us to dock and then was very helpful getting us backed into the T-head. It doesn't get any better.

Osprey is a gem!, 2011-10-31
Captain: , Clearwater, FL (551)

We have heard about Osprey from cruising buds for a few years now and decided to try it out. What a great find. Reasonable prices, nice facility, great, friendly people. Unfortunately, the grill is closed. Hopefully they will reopen it in the spring when we come back.

Great hidden marina, 2011-10-26
Captain: , Mattituck, NY. (371)

This is our annual stop.

Very friendly dock hands, cheap fuel, clean restrooms, 2 washers and dryers, and very good short order grill.
We have had breakfast and lunch from the grill, great! Great Italian Restaurant will pick you up for dinner.

Scatori's Restaurant will pick you up for dinner. This restaurant has very good Italian food. Right next door is a grocery store so after dinner you can shop and then the restaurant driver will take you back to the boat.

Best deal around, 2011-10-07
Captain: , New Smyrna Beach, Fl. (200)

Looks like you are going into a swamp, but not to worry. Great little grill, ship store, and hospitality. Don't pass this one up, @ $1.00/ft

Great Stop, 2011-09-28
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (151)

Satyed 3 mights during 9/2011. Very well run, professional management, very accomodating and helpful. New dock to accomodate larger boats, great power and water. Strongly recommend this as a good place to stay during storms.

Osprey Marina, 2011-08-27
Captain: , Portland, OR (120)

Wonderful place. We just withstood Hurricane Irene here. Real hurricane hole, barely moved in 30-50 mph wind.

Friendly staff, good inexpensive food. Free pumpout.

Couldn't ask for anything more.

Great place to purchase fuel -, 2011-08-02
Captain: , Southport, NC (98)

This was the first time we stopped here. The fuel (diesel) prices were great, dock help was outstanding and the staff was very helpful in the store. On our return trip north we again stopped and received wonderful service this time as well. Will make it a point to stop here when in the area for fuel.

Great place to stop, 2011-07-31
Captain: , Palmetto Fl (545)

We thought about staying here, but arrived too early in the day so we moved on, but we did stop for gas. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Gas prices were very good and pumpout was free. Nice looking facility.

Love it! I'll definitely come back., 2011-07-11
Captain: , Newport, RI (156)

As marinas go, this is excellent. They are up to date, clean, friendly, and they recycle (which is unusual in Myrtle Beach). And they're cheap.

The only issue you might find is that they aren't very centrally located. It's about 3 miles to the nearest grocery store.

Great fuel prices, nice docks in 2011, 2011-05-31
Captain: , Key Largo (5304)

clean , nice remote, no coutesy car, no shopping. But great fuel prices!

Ditto All of the Reviews so Far!!, 2011-05-16
Captain: , Cleveland (2029)

The staff was EXCELLENT (thank you Chris!). We were the first of four trawlers coming in for fuel and dockage and marveled at the efficiency of the fueling/docking staff. The cheeseburgers are great - restrooms very clean. Will definitely stop back here on the way south. Fuel price was hard to beat.

Best small marina, 2011-05-14
Captain: , Block Island RI (40)

Best marina in terms of value on the east coast. Very nice folks who make you feel appreciated. A MUST STOP in the Myrtle Beach area.

Best Small Marina on the ICW, 2011-05-14
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (1090)

As everyone else has already indicated, it doesn't get much better than this. We even like the food here - great breakfast. Our verizon coverage seems to be just fine and the internet here was pretty good as well.

We seem to meet lots of folks we already know when we drop in here, so it is always time for a party. This time we were invited to join some of the locals for their pizza party. Good old southern hospitality is alive and well at the Osprey!!

Friendly place, cheapest fuel!, 2011-05-11
Captain: , Miami, fl (3544)

May 2011: I always stop here in the fall and spring... Staff is helpful and super friendly, and fuel price is unbeatable south of Norfolk.

New transient dock added late 2010.

Excellent protection from wind and wakes, deep channel.

Looks small but plenty of room , I have no problem coming in and turning around with a 70 footer

Cheap dockage and free WORKING pump out.

Best stop on the icw, very quiet at night

Osprey Marina is great again., 2011-05-01
Captain: , Isle of Palms, SC (219)

Stayed there again on April 30, 2011. $1 per foot, includes cable, $5 for 50 amp. Fuel was the cheapest even without the Boat US discount. Grill opens at 8am and closed at 5pm. Bathrooms very clean and the staff nice and helpful. Only problem is that we had almost no verizon access- even with my booster. We always try and stop there whenever we can.

None Better, 2011-04-27
Captain: , Pensacola (307)

We stay at Osprey for a month evey Spring and Fall. Dockmaster Miles is always able to find a spot for us. the harbor has good depth right up to shore so squeezing into some of the smaller secitons is no problem.

the marina is in a remote location (2 miles to the nearest convienent store) but there are several options for provisioning. 1. Call Scatories resturant. They will pick you up and take you to their resturant which has excellent itallian food. After eating go to the Lowes market next door and buy groceries. Then Scatories will return you to the marina.
2. I learned, today, that Lowes Supermarket will deliver an order that you enter via internet or call in to them.
3. Ask the marina. If they are not too busy the will give you a ride to say the Airport if leaving the boat and going home for a while or picking up crew.
4. Of course there is an enterprose rental nearby.

Need work done? Ask the marina they know someone that can do just about any maintenance on a boat.

WOW... What a place., 2011-04-20

Staying here on April 19, 2011 and it is a great experience. All the people (both staff and other boaters) are very friendly, the fuel is way cheaper than anywhere else, and it is a very soothing and quiet place. We took bikes 2.5 miles to the Food Lion to grab some beer, there are great places to walk your dog, and all-in-all it's a must see.

There are a few things I haven't used like the little grill and the ships store (I am a "beer snob" so I didn't like the selection of beer and needed a Fat Tire, thus the Food Lion trip. There are also some local place that will give you a ride should you need one. And there is a great big porch with rocking chairs to waste away the evening.

We'll be back for sure. I love the peace and quiet.

**EDIT** Add to the above that the bathrooms are very clean, but the Wi-Fi is pretty whanky and slow.

Osprey Marina (April 4-8 2011), 2011-04-14
Captain: , Richmond VA (281)

A wonderfull marina. Very quite and calm. We were located near the fuel peir and saw more activity than the rest of the marina, but we never rocked around. Very protected. The serivice is outstanding and it is very affordable. I had a Generator issue (raw water pump seized) and had it fixed by a recomended repairman. I would give this marina a 5 start if they had a loner car. Marnao is a bit far to get anywhere by bike. Only other thing to watch out for is the water pressure is HIGH, so only crack the valve at the peir 1/4 turn.

Great Marina, 2011-04-13
Captain: , Wilsonville, AL (474)

Friendly and helpful staff, nice floating docks in good condition, good fuel price, total wind and current protection, clean bath and showers. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it is not convenient to anything and the grill isn't open on weekdays.

once again top notch, 2011-04-07

Great Marina, They can not do enough for their visitors.

Very Professional, 2011-03-19
Captain: , Solomons, MD (464)

The best value we have seen on the ICW. Very professional, extremely helpful, and very accommodating. Stopped for the night and fuel up, pump out was done by dockmaster Miles without even asking. Great goodie bag and they even offered to keep grill open if needed. Just a great marina.

New Transient Dock, 2011-03-18
Captain: , Myrtle Beach, SC (50)

03/12/11 brand new 200 foot transiet dock along entrance channel is now open with water and power. 8 foot low tide depth. Purchased diesel today at $3.07 with Boat US discount. OUTSTANDING and very accomodating marina with an extremely courteous staff. Great short order grill, especiallly breakfast, with beer and wine. Pick-up service from Scatoria's, an excellent local Italian restaurant.

Southbound on the edge of a wilderness, 2011-03-04
Captain: , Pinnacle, NC, USA (1340)

This operation is quite professional and well tuned-in to boaters. We stayed two nights s/b and one night on our n/b return.

Filled-up 2011-02-25 (gas, no-ethanol) $2.909/gl, that was before a 10% BoatUS dicount. Affiliated grill open from 8 to 4pm. We can affirm others' recomendations of Scatori Pizzaria & Restaurant -- in our case delivered dockside, on an hours notice.
We paticularly like this marina's protected remoteness, while allowing that this limits what you can find when needing provisions.

A great fuel stop, 2011-02-08

In this part of the ICW this is the place to fuel up the channel into the marina is scary but follow the markes ans you will be fine

Captain: , Epilogue (326)

We stayed here on Dec. 15 based on the recommendation of many folks. This is a great marina: protected, pretty, clean, really friendly folks. Don't miss a visit to Scatori's Italian restaurant - best eggplant parmesan I've had and the portions are so large there was plenty leftover the next day for two of us. Definitely stay at Osprey Marina! Don't know how they can charge such low rates and provide so much but we're happy they do.

One of the Best, 2010-12-02
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (70)

Top notch facility and staff. Restrooms have one shower each, and they were clean with plenty of room, hot water, free soap, and a decent changing area. Small ships store, grill, diesel and gasoline, with BoatUS discount. James was great help on the dock. Note, in early December, they filled up. May want to call ahead.

I'll be back. Super friendly. Clean! Great prices, wonderfully protected and secure. Nice little coffee shop and convenience store. The only reason its not a clear 5 star is the wiifi service needs updating (suts out a lot) and a courtesy car would be a huge benefit since there is *nothing* within a few miles. Still as is its a great -- and friendly -- bang for the buck!

First Class! Six stars if I could., 2010-11-14
Captain: , Block Island (1679)

A real hurricane hole. Would not hesitate to leave a boat here for extended time if neccessary. Easy taxi to MB airport, and the staff here will keep an eye on your boat while you are away.

New, clean facility with a small coffee shop on site. Nothing else within walking distance. Very transient friendly! Fabulous laundry and showers. Attentive dock staff. Get a free ride to dinner and go grocery shopping.

Update Nov 2010: Stayed here again, and again, this place gets my highest 5 star rating! Osprey understands that they get business from transients, and they are building even more room for transients with a new face dock along the channel.

Caveat: It is very tight inside the marina waters, so boats over about 45' should bring their A game or stay home. It will be challenging to maneuver around with a boat over about 45'. Depths are not an issue, its just the space between docks and trees. The good news is there is no current and virtually no wind.

Incredible Staff, 2010-11-12
Captain: , Apollo Beach (161)

If all things were equal when it came to choosing a marina, only price would matter but if you are interested in staying at a place with an incredible staff, supremely protected from ICW wakes and wind, easy access to the ICW, and strategically placed along the Myrtle Beach ditch this is the place. Price wise their transient dockage rate is also excellent. The only down side is their remote location.

Just excellent !, 2010-11-04
Captain: , Deltaville (200)

This is one of the best run marinas we have stayed in during our ICW trip southwards, so far.

The entrance is almost hidden, if you don't spot the sign on the ICW, you'd miss this one altogether. The narrow, but easy entrance channel opens up into a delightful area.

They sometimes use the fuel dock creatively to get the bigger boats in, but the dockhands are so good, there's no need for concern. New floating docks going in along the entrance channel will provide more transient capacity soon.

You won't beat the rates and with 0.10C BUS per gallon discount on diesel, this one is great value for money.

The short order grill isn't open every day, but looks pretty good value.

Only slight negative is that there's no provisioning here apart from what's available in the ships store, but that was no issue for us.

Excellent service, clean restrooms, laundry room and showers. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Really enjoy the "gift/goodies" bag
given at arrival.

This marina is the nicest, cleanest and friendliest that I have ever stayed in for the price. I agree with all of the other reviews

Very nice, clean, and new marina. We planned to stop for the night and ended up spending two. Good fuel prices and slip rates. Helpful and friendly staff. Very quiet and peaceful.

Osprey Marina is top of the line in service. Friendly welcoming faces was a pleasant suprise. Dog friendly is an understatment! Beautiful grounds to roam. This is one you'llnot want to pass up! it is worth it to schedule an overnight here.

Wonderful people!, 2010-10-09
Captain: , Palm Coast, FL (341)

We called them at 4 pm when we realized the adverse current wouldn't let us make our intended stop. They stayed open until 6:30 just for us! Fantastic goody bag. Very quiet. No current and fantastic wind protection. Free pumpout and great fuel prices (the best between Norfolk and Florida. Next time, we'll stay longer.

Try it and you will like it, 2010-08-22
Captain: , Warsaw, Ky (875)

I agree that this would be a 5 star rating if it had a courtesy car. Great dockage rates and fuel prices. Grounds are well kept. Heads and laundry facilites are clean and well kept. Make sure to reserve early as it fills up often.

Staff is very courteous, helpful and knowledgeable.

Be sure to make Scatori's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant a stop. If needed they will come get you and let you shop at the grocery next store before returning you to the marina. We ate in the restaurant, pizzeria to the left italian restaurant with white table cloths to the right, and found it to be one of the best restaurants we have eaten at in our 11 months of extended cruising.

Nice marina, friendly people., 2010-07-16
Captain: , Port Canaveral, Fl. (241)

I'll agree with most of the reviews, and with the comment that a courtesy car for shopping would make it a must stop.

Our ships cat had to go to the vet, and no rental cars were available in Myrtle Beach.

One of the employees in the dockmasters office let us use her car to take the cat to the vets office.

Great place!

Wonderfull facility superclean very protected from wakes etc, 2010-06-29

Great facility. Extremely clean, very nice staff and super well protected. would be 5 stars if they had a courtesy vehicle as shoppong requires a vehicle.

Great fuel price and great place to stay, 2010-05-15
Captain: , Red Wing, MN (384)

Had a quick overnight and refueling at Osprey. Fuel prices seem to be the best around in May of 2010. Went to dinner at local Italian restaurant and the restaurant had a complimentary pick up and drop off. Nothing but good feelings here!

Easy stop off the ICW, 2010-04-23
Captain: , Old Saybrook, CT (1021)

And very inexpensive dockage with a goody bag and a BoatUS fuel discount. Close to all attractions in Myrtle Beach area by taxi or rental car. (CAUTION: Rental cars seem to be available only at the airport which requires an expensive cab ride and the usual airrport surcharges for the rental.) Everything is clean and well maintained. Dock folks very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and lunch at the Grill on premises. (Closed Monday - Wednesday off season.) CALL AHEAD. MAY BE FULL! Although they are wonderful to transients, their slips are all full with permanent residents.

Captain: , Great Island, Maine (323)

We tucked in here to escape the remnants of a hurricane. The protection ws superb, the staff excellent, the facilities small but clean, and the prices for fuel and dockage more than reasonable. WIFI was good, AT&T essentially non-existent, Verizon OK. There is a car that will take you to an excellent Italian restaurant (lots to take home for a second meal) in a shopping center where you can also buy almost any essential.

A great facility, 2009-06-03
Captain: , Portsmouth, NH (130)

Great, small facility; easy entry; attentive staff; best fuel prices found coming from south.

Osprey Marina, 2009-04-17
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

Awsome staff. Good facilities. Well maintained. They even have a goody bag for transients.

Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is cell phone coverage is poor and the wifi is hard to get locked in.

Osprey Marina, 2008-11-11
Captain: , Havre de Grace (119)

Very clean, friendly atmosphere marina, extremely inexpensive dockage rate if you stay more than three days. Not very bike friendly as exit road has no shoulders. We paid $3.15 for diesel on Nov. 8, 2008.

Still my favorite place on the ICW for a night, 2008-10-20
Captain: , fairland (2653)

The best lunch on the ICW, great breakfast's too. Clean restrooms, freindly staff. Haven;t been selling much fuel lately, hence the high price...

Captain: , Neabsco Creek, VA (95)

We were going to stay 2 nights but stayed for 4. Great fuel stop but we were impressed with the staff and clean facility. We stayed for the weekend, rented a car (enterprise) and saw much of Myrtle Beach and outlying area. Great stop.
