Reviews for Oriental Harbor Village Ctr and Marina
Quaint town and marina, 2016-08-03
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (40)

We stayed here fo a night and were met by Tom, who is probably one of the hardest working guys I have ever seen. He helped us get the boat tied up and told us about all there was to see and do. The provisions store was within walking distance as was the Marina inn, a coffee shop and restaurants. We took time to walk through the neighborhoods and also ate at a small deli. People were very nice. The Tiki bar at the inn had great drinks and free appetizers. Nonie, the bartender, has a great spirit and makes great drinks! The marina had good fixed face docks.

Great dockmaster, 2016-05-11
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (31)

The marina was fine, but we purposely timed a night there in order to get a pump out which was sorely needed. Alas, the town now runs the pump station and placed it on one of their town free docks and since there is almost always a boat there, it blocks the station.....we were unable to get a pump out. Other than that, nice place, easy access to town.

Nice Convenient Stop, 2015-09-29
Captain: , Jacksonville (90)

We tied up on the outside of the long dock, but the wind was from the north so we were fine. I would imagine it would be rough with a south wind. This is where we were sent after calling Oriental Marine. Tom (the excellent dockmaster) seems to manage both places. Interesting waterfront with several restaurants and a well stocked ships store very close by. A grocery store is about a mile walk and you pass a hardware store and large marine consignment store on the way.

Fixed docks booked only by adjacent Oriental Marina, 2015-04-19
Captain: , Moyock, NC (984)

Oriental is a nice stop. However, the transient slips are booked only by the adjacent Oriental Marina. All the downtown slips are $1.90/ft. with no AGLCA or MTOA discounts, and don't offer any weekly rates.

An excellent marina, 2015-03-21
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (636)

Mark maintains an excellent marina. Easy in, easy out. Good water and power. Did not use the wifi.
Recommend M&M over Water Street Grill, nice marine store (an alternative to WM down the road about a mile).

The one slight negative is that if you take a slip and wind is from S or E there is a slight swell producing a beam on rocking motion.

We will definitely use this marina in the future!

Easy in & out, 2014-05-12
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1836)

Arrived at 8 PM, ate at Toucan House & left at 6 AM. Facility was in good shape, 10 feet of water at dock, $1.80 per foot, power was good. Tom was very helpful & cordial.

Most enjoyable stay, 2013-11-30
Captain: , Portsmouth UK (30)

We stayed 3 months at this marina over 2 seperate visits during 2013 and enjoyed both the marina and it's facilities. Mark the Dockmaster was most helpful at all times when we needed anything. It's a 'long stay' marina (no transient dock space) as the slips are all privately owned but many are unoccupied but leased out through Mark, as in our case. There's always plenty going on in town but the marina itself is quiet which is fine by us. The facilities were always clean and the wifi was always available. We draw 4 ft being a heavy catamaran and the only concerns over depth were during Tropical Storm Andrea where we bottomed out for a number of hours on B dock. We will certainly return for another visit as we love Oriental and it's friendly people.

Friendly Place, 2013-11-30
Captain: , Wiscasset, Maine (280)

We loved our experience in Oriental. Town is very friendly to boaters and their dogs. Marina staff was very experienced and helpful. Good walking and shopping. Ended up staying longer than planned because we felt so comfortable.

Solid Marina, 2013-07-09
Captain: , New Bern (318)

I really like this marina. And Oriental is in general, as a sailboater, my favorite stop in the entire mid-altantic. Everyone in this town seems to have some connection to sailboats.

With regards to the previous comment, drawing less than 3' is absolutely not a pre-requisite for staying here. The tides on the Neuse are laregely wind-driven, yes, but there are many sailboats drawing 6' that are permanently docked here and seem to have no complaints. If you draw more than 5' and are looking at heavy winds from the north, maybe ask for a slip on A or B dock.

Thanks... But No Thanks, 2013-07-02
Captain: , Nashville, TN (190)

I have mixed feelings here. The facility is great. Bathrooms clean and Mark (dockmaster) is a nice guy. He refunded every penny of our money when we left. We left because he put us in a slip that had no water. In fact, the entire "B" dock had about 3.5 - 4' of water when the SW wind blew for 3 days straight. I knew about the wind driven "tide" but if you put someone in a slip who draws 5' you should make sure they're not going to bounce, and pound the bottom for the next 48hrs when the wind goes to 25knts. He said, "Oh, you guys are in that slip with the hump." Funny... the guy next to me on a boat drawing 6' said you told him HE was in the slip with the hump. Bottome line... A dock is the only dock with water and even that is suspect. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE unless you draw 3' or less or are on a power boat.

Nice place, 2012-11-27
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (675)

Stayed here on 22 Nov 2012. Easy to get into except watch for boats anchored and encroaching on the entrance channel. Walking distance to several restaurants. Nice helpful people run the place. Bathhouse could use an update and work on cleanliness a bit but OK.

Nice marina right in the middle of everythng, 2012-11-15
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

We were met by a friendly and helpful dockhand. Very little tide with fixed docks. We were put in a slip not on the face dock. Long walk to toliets. Serveral nice restuarants nearby. Will be back.

Helpful with docking, 2012-11-13
Captain: , Detroit (260)

As others have mentioned, a little confusing on what dock is what. We called Oriental Marina and they put us on the dock at Oriental Harbor. I think Oriental Marina (motel) has taken over service for transients at Oriental Harbor. In any event, as we arrived under difficult conditions we were met at the dock and helped until we were all tied up and wired in. Great service.

No protection from SW winds, 2012-08-09
Captain: , Fort Myers Florida (189)

Stayed at the transient dock here - but the Oriental Marina manager actually manages the transient slips, all on the out "face dock". Very convenient location, nice facilities, but is exposed to the SW winds - which we have now and are bouncing around nicely.

Oriental Harbor Marina, 2012-05-02
Captain: , Oriental, NC (130)

OHM is a very nice marina. The dockmaster is a great guy. He takes great pleasure in helping others and is well liked by all. The docks are fixed docks, and nicely built. The marina has a nice store.

OHM is within walking distance of great restaurants like M&Ms, The Trawl Door and others. Unique shopping is very close too.

Available thru Oriental Marina, 2011-06-04
Captain: , Madison, Ohio (400)

We tried to get a slip at Oriental Marina and they were full, but said that they had slips available for the same price at Oriental Harbor Marina that they could reserve for us. OK marina, fixed docks, clean showers.

No Longer Tankes Transients, 2010-10-15
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

We were just there and they told us they no longer take transients, so we stayed at the hotel, which is great. They do have some sort of agreement that if the hotel is full, they MIGHT take a transient.

Neuse River Yacht Club, 2010-06-26
Captain: , Boca Raton FL (274)

Now open to the Public. Short before the bridge. Call Wayne Lamm the owner @ 252 249 0550. GREAT place for dinner. Tell him we said Hello

Has everything you need, 2010-06-03
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (1134)

Very accomadating and helpful dockmaster. He loaned us his car to go to the market just about a mile away. Super dog friendly. Lots of novel shops and lovely galleries within easy walking distance. M&M is an especially nice place to eat as is the Toucan on the property. Nice pool, and Tiki bar.The only reason for the 3 star is the awful fish smell and the trash cans were overflowing Not emptied in the 2 days we were there.

Two marinas, 2010-02-28
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

There is the main marina, which is quite small and seems to fill quickly. The other marina, by the bridge, is managed by the first marina and is another condo/dock/minium gone wrong. The ride there is rolly all the time. Not our favorite stop on the ICW.

good acces for large boats, 2010-02-16

Great in every way. Oriental is a great town, even for power boaters!

Great place to ride out a blow., 2008-10-17

Managed by Oriental Marina. Great new face dock for cats, clean facilities and free laundry. Several restaurants only a short walk and a great chandlery practically on site.
