Reviews for Orange Beach Marina
It was just one of those marinas, 2016-11-17
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (270)

We first came into Sanders to have bottom cleaned and props checked after being in the rivers. We move over to Orange Beach the next day., no problem they had 3 spots open. First issue was the washer, it wouldn't start one of the guys on staff came over he couldn't get it working either ( fix it guy was off that day)`but mentioned they have been having trouble with it. I have a small portable washer on the boat and because I had already pre-stained the clothes, I went through the task of several loads to get all the clothes washed. Then I take them to the dryer and it doesn't work either.

Next we check in and stop to have a beer at the restaurant, we were directed to a specific bar, they had closed the other one. There was a guy cleaning the bar taps... he never once acknowledged us. A girl comes out from the kitchen to get ice...ignored us completely. We finally got up and left.

Then we go back to the restaurant for dinner, they are having a function and the restaurant is closed. Told us we could go upstairs to their fine dining restaurant, we'll we weren't dressed for a white tablecloth dining experience or ready for a $140 meal.

*when the maintenance man went to check out washer

Nice Marina in a Great Town, 2015-12-11
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (728)

This marina is definately worth the trip from the ICW. We were in a nice covered slip for 2 nights with very easy power and water hook up's for however your boat is configured.

There is easy access to town via the courtsey car or bikes with a very nice bike trail system nearby. Tacky Jack's is across the street and a great place to hang out with the locals and snowbirds.

Will return for sure!!

Excellant stop for transients, 2015-05-30
Captain: , Cleveland, OH (344)

Good facilities. Loaner car always available. Showers close to transients. Good food at on site restaurant. Grocery near by. Price of $2 per foot includes power and tax.

Overall, a top notch marina, 2015-03-30
Captain: , Monroeville, AL (151)

Stayed overnight here 3/28/15 ....staff was exceedingly helpful. We arrived after hours and there was a mixup about our power requirements (we had requested 30 amp power, and they provided an adapter for their 50 amp service. Unfortunatly, the adapter did not fit their own outlet!) ... after a bit of checking around, we were kindly offered a nearby slip which met our power needs. One of the restrooms was in very bad need of attention, but being the weekend, I wont hold it against them. Overall, the staff was fantastic, the facilities amongst the finest I have ever experienced, and the on site restaurant was good. I would stay here again, for sure. Beautiful area.

An outstanding marina, 2015-01-15
Captain: , Naples, FL (682)

What a great marina. Very well maintained facilities with extensive landscape beautification. Top class restaurant (Fishers) with separate sports bar (downstairs) on site. Three loaner cars. Covered slips. Clean showers and laundry. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The winter rate of $1.00 per foot makes it attractive even without the covered slips and tranquill location. Handy to lots of amenities, shops and restaurants. We left our boat here for a month over Christmas and got a good monthly slip rental fee.
Transients are made to feel included in marina life and we attended the annual Christmas lunch which was a feast to behold.

Loopers, this is the place to stop in Orange Beach, 2014-11-14
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

Today's secret is that "Island Time" (Looper class of 2014) had the best set of marina's from Chicago into the Gulf coast. I've followed their blog and mostly gone to the places they have gone to.

Orange Beach Marina was one of their last stops and I have to say it has been a great time being here. We are under cover in a well protected slip (gusts last night of 30kts were nothing back here). Marina staff couldn't be nicer. Two loaner cars, ships store with some items. Within 10 min drive are marine parts, restaurants, shopping (Publix, WinnDixie, even the dreaded Voldamart.) Beer, wine and fresh beignets are moments away.

Fishers, the onsite restaurant is great. Huge beer selection, huge wine selection, food was great, service was even better. If they had butter tarts, this would be in the top ten for my 2014-2015 loop. Eat at the casual area downstairs, make sure you get the hush puppies.

National Car rental is 20 mins away in Foley, they will pick you up. Go to the Big Easy (3 hours) for a few days. Or drive 40 mins to Pensacola for the Naval museum (10th most popular attraction in Florida) . Or in Foley just eat at Lamberts, home of the thrown roll. Here at the dock lots of charter captains on the dock looking for work.

Coming off the stress of what seems like decades on the rivers, this is the place to stop. We stayed a week, we could have stayed longer, but there is some "Looper" that wants our spot. So we are out of here, happy to share since they also know what they are coming for.

Very Friendly To Loopers, 2014-11-02
Captain: , Everett, Washington (824)

We spent 3 nights here in late October and early November following the recommendation of other loopers and to wait out a cold front. This marina is the home to a large fleet of private sportfishing boats and we were told that the marina is packed during the high season. At this time of year, the marina is very quiet with slips available. The staff is very helpful. They have the best quality of courtesy cars that we have seen on the loop. A great place to walk and bike. Provisioning with the courtesy car is very easy. The marina is making a big effort to woe loopers with great moorage rates of $1 a foot with discounts.

Courtesy Car Available any time!, 2014-11-02
Captain: , Bay Point Marina, Marblehead, OH (180)

We stayed here for 10 days waiting for our insurance to allow us to travel to Florida after Nov 1. While waiting, this wonderful marina allowed us to use their courtesy suvs (3 of them) every day at any time we needed one and for extended periods of time. This was mainly due to not much demand for them this time of year. We were well treated by the staff, and advised of local places to go. The marina is super, clean, bathrooms are cleaned daily. And the price is right $1/ft for Loopers!! The restaurant on site called "Fishers" is an excellent. They have great cooks there. There are also a couple of restaurants within walking distance. One thing we really liked was the close proximaty of the beaches to the marina. We went from the marina to beaches by dinghy. Also several restaurants by dinghy. My wife and I also liked Orange Beach very much, Walmart, Publix, West Marine stores are all close to the marina by car as well as many other restaurants. One activity we did using the marinas suv was to see a practice session of the Blue Angels...totally awesome and also the museum. Orange Beach is just a fun place to be. I would go back there in a heartbeat!

Home Away from Home, 2014-03-24
Captain: , Somerville, TN (201)

This is our third winter here and we have come to love this place. You have a covered slip, free wifi and cable TV all included for a very fair price.

The accessibility to all things great are just a short drive away. There is a Publix a little over 1.5 miles away, two restaurants on site and the best Marina management in the industry.

If we tried a different restaurant every night for the 4 months we spend here, we wouldn't eat at the same place twice. Lots and lots of good choices.

There are several "boat snowbirds" at this marina and social activities are plentiful.

We will miss our "L.A." neighbors as we begin our trek back to the Tennessee River but shall return again in the fall.

Quiet, Calm, Protected, 2013-12-12
Captain: , MV Red Head (3106)

We spent several days here and if you are looking for a very protected basin this is the spot. The facilities are very nice and the staff is professional and waiting to help. There's an excellent restaurant right on site. We ate on the lower level which is casual with lovely outdoor seating. Our meal was excellent. I understand there is a more formal dining room above. The grounds are well kept with lots of places to walk the dogs. They have two courtesy cars so that you can do all your major provisioning or simply go off site for a meal. The marina is literally minutes from the inlet making this the perfect jumping off spot to go fishing or just continue your cruise. We found the inlet wide and well marked. This is a good spot to spend a few days or leave the boat if you need to attend to things back home.

The Ritz Carlton of Marinas, 2013-12-01
Captain: , Deltaville, VA (602)

Great marina and $1 per foot for AGLCA members. I had a covered slip with water, electricity, cable TV. Restroom and shower were conveniently located at the end of the dock. Very friendly and helpful dock hands. Gas, diesel, and pumpout at the fuel dock. Well stocked ships store. Free coffee every morning. 3 courtesy cars. Only one washer and one dryer outside the restrooms which looked old and rusty.Grocery stores and shopping nearby but not within walking distance. Fishers Bar and Restaurant (excellent food) on site and many quality restaurants nearby. Marina grounds are manicured with orange and lemon trees.
Off the ICW and you must pay close attention to ATNs to reach the marina, but it is worth the trip. Recommend highly.

Marina Restaurant Great, 2013-06-06
Captain: , Orange Beach, AL (10)

Marina has a fine dining restaurant (Fishers). This is one of the nicest restaurants along the entire northern gulf coast. Don't miss it!

Great stop, quiet in the fall/winter, 2011-12-07
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (7374)

Our primary reason for choosing OB Marina was Saunders and Xtreme Electonics. Found OB Marina to be a well-maintained, solidly built location. Docks in great shape, rest-rooms & showers clean, laundry available at the dock. Couple of coutesy cars available to get to Orange Beach for groceries. West Marine nearby. Many restaurants including one on site (2nd on site restaurant under renovation) Most of the slips filled with big sport fishermen, we were the only transient the week we were there while autopilot installed. Well marked entrance from Perdido Pass to Terry Cove and from the Cove to OB Marina.

Great Place, 2010-12-01
Captain: , Cincinnati (1810)

This a very clean and pretty marina. It is a little difficult to find and get to but is worth the effort. Went to spend the night and stayed for three nights. We were there for Thanksgiving and were invited to dinner at the managers house. It was a fantastic feast and very appreciated. Just be sure to watch the markers back to hte marina and yes they do get close to the private docks on shore. Restaurant and courtesy cars are on site and available.

excellent well protected marina, 2009-12-26
Captain: , Dallas, TX (726)

Very nice well protected marina, easy access from Perdido Pass out of the way but worth it from the ICW. Fishing is outstanding in this area and the number of fishing yachts show. Calypso's will cook your catch a number of different ways and provide all the sides, blackened was my favorite. Marina staff if very knowledgable and friendly.

Fun spot, 2009-04-20

Nice Marina, 2007-03-01
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (1306)

Has a couple of good restaurants onsite. Service is close. Would be a 5 but it's a little difficult to get into. Not bad if your coming from the pass but a way in if coming from the ICW.
