Reviews for Onondaga Lake Park Marina
A Marina in A Park, 2012-08-11
Captain: , Brewerton, NY (489)

Just a 15 minute side-trip off the Erie Canal/
Seneca River, this 90-slip marina was refit with composite floating docks in last few years. Within county-owned Onondaga Lake Park, which provides shoreline walking/jogging and separate biking/skating trails in exquisitely maintained grass-lawned park (that is closed to motor vehicle traffic). One marina facility limitation is the outdated/overtaxed 30A power distribution system, which suffers from voltage dips to 105V if you try to run air conditioning along with everybody else at the dock. Variety of nice restaurants and diners, and full grocery store, are within a few minutes stroll into heart of Liverpool village center. The nationally reknowned environmental cleanup of the lake is still a work in progress; while the lake has recovered enough to now boast 60 species of fish, don't plan to jump in for a swim for a few more years.

In a word: beautiful!

This is a superb little marina in the middle of a great park with walking/jogging/biking paths which runs the entire length of the east side of Lake Onondaga. The staff is as friendly as we've encountered anywhere and extremely helpful once you get ahold of them by phone (no VHF). It's obviously a marina that isn't accustomed to transients, but that's not a problem as they will make every effort to accommodate your boat and crew.

Shopping nearby.

We stayed here in 2001 and although nice then, it is a fantastic place now.

If meeting friends who are arriving by other modes of transportation, they should plan on arriving at the Onondaga Yacht Club which is immediately on the north side of the marina (but is just a building) or at the marina office itself which is located on the south side of the docks; both are accessible by vehicle from a street that is about a block to the east of the lake.

Has relatively new heads (no showers) at the north side, used also by the park patrons.
