Approach

To navigate to the marina, you must pass under two bridges. The first is the railroad bridge which opens on demand if no trains are approaching. The other is the Willow Street bridge which had a clearance of only 14 feet in June 2013 but opens on demand. Be mindful of floating debris in the river.

Reviews for Olde River Yacht Club
More of a social club, 2013-07-29

Getting to the marina is a beast. The NS1 bridge only opens when they want to and the bridgeminder did not answer the raido until a feighter hailed him. The bridgeminders are rude and disrepectful of pleasure boaters. We waited and hour and twenty minutes, floating in the Cuyahoga with debris from heavy rains.

The marina has a very nice restautrant and tiki bar that is open to social members so it stayed busy for the week we were in the marina. I just wish the it were better located.

OK at first glance, not so good at second., 2013-07-17

We stayed here the weekend ofter 4th of July. The facilities look nice at first glance, but the shower block is run down. Showers run hot and cold. One morning the mens bathroom was out of toilet paper. The water around the boats full of trash. The local members of the club seem a little hostile to outsiders. Hard to get anywhere in town, but staff from the neighboring marina gave us a lift.

A surprising oasis, 2012-05-07

Yes, boaters must pass under the Conrail and Willow St bridges to reach the ORYC, but I think it's worth it. We've been treated very well there over the years. The facilities are great, but getting into the city requires a cab.
