Reviews for Old Port Cove Marina
OPC Marina, 2017-06-08
Captain: , Bucks Harbor (220)

We stayed here for the first time on 5/12-13. Everyone from the office, to dock people, to shuttle drive were great. We had to change out 2 8D batteries. The shuttle drive help to get the batteries into the van (170 pounds each). At the marina, two guys loaded them into a golf cart and put them onto our boat. The attitude from everyone was "any else you need?"

Always a Good Stop, 2017-05-05
Captain: , Chattanooga, TN (554)

We discovered OPC Marina on our Loop in 2013 and stop there about once a year. Often places like Old Port Cove are good the first time and then less so each time you visit. Old Port Cove just seems to get better and better. They have a good AGLCA member discount, excellent floating docks, a fantastic, friendly, helpful staff on the docks and in the office, beautiful facilities, a convenient restaurant, the courtesy car for errands, and on and on.

Over the years, they also started giving a bag of ice and a bottle of wine for each boater. They know their customers.

This year, we stayed one night in mid-March before crossing to the Bahamas and one night in mid-April after crossing back over. In April, they were full up, but fitted our PDQ 34 onto the fuel dock. We were grateful after a lumpy crossing.

Very nice marina. There are nice restaurants within walking distance plus the marina has a good restaurant and sandwich shop on site. The marina has good modern power and docks. This is a change from a lot of older marinas. West Marine is a long walk away plus a nice Italian food store next to it.

Best Marina We've Visited, 2017-04-16
Captain: , Venice, FL (170)

Easy check-in, great information brief, amazing dock staff, and a bottle of wine...can't beat that. Old Port Cove Marina just gets everything right. Example....we stopped by office to check-in and mentioned that we would like a pump-out sometime over the next day or so. By the time we back to the boat, it was DONE! Great place. Goin' back for sure.

Great Place, 2017-04-15
Captain: , Charleston, s.c. (100)

We second the previous positive reviews. Spent four nights, having crossed over from the Bahamas. Friendly and helpful arrival help. Great lounge, restaurant. Shuttle to large West Marine. As prior reviewers have noted, there is an amazing "Doris Italian Market and Grill" next door to West Marine. Really, don't miss it. In the evenings we really appreciated that the marina was calm, without noise or loud music. In summary, a classy place with easy access to classy amenities.

While you're here, be sure to visit the Doris Italian Market and Bakery next door to West Marine.

This marina has Everything!, 2017-03-07
Captain: , Kent Island, MD (270)

We are on a Hunter 41 foot sailboat heading home slowly to MD and stopped here for two nights. Two nights became 5 because of howling winds, and this marina felt like home. We were tied up perfectly by professional dock hands in strong winds after being given precise directions by Kim. On checking in at the office, we received a welcome packet and a bottle of wine. We were very happy with all the amenities that Kim told us about: courtesy shuttle which runs 7 days a week, complimentary coffee in the Express restaurant for our whole stay, free 10 lb. bag of ice, private showers with private changing area, clean bathrooms and laundry room, captain's lounge with large screen TV,wifi, and an onsite restaurant with Happy Hour and music several times a week. Every member of the staff was knowledgeable and accommodating and just happy to be working here. Believe me, their attitude was contagious. We had a great time! We ate in the restaurant 3 times, went to the movies, went to Publix and just enjoyed the beautiful environment. I can't imagine what more anyone would need in a marina. With access to a heated pool, this marina is more like a resort. With a Boat US Discount of 15% on dockage, OPC is a bargain at $1.70 a foot. And in Palm Beach no less! Who knew? Well, now we do and you do, too!

Two Week Stay, 2017-02-23
Captain: , Bayfield, WI (108)

Called in December for reservation for the first two weeks in February and even though this is a big boat marina, we were given a confirmation for our stay with our little yacht. When we arrived on Feb. 1, we were greeted on the radio with a friendly instruction to our slip, and met on the dock for assistance in getting the boat in the slip. The entire staff was welcoming and helpful during our stay. The facilities are top notch and very well kept. With the restaurant on site and excellent shower, laundry, etc our stay couldn't have been better.

awesome marina, 2017-02-17
Captain: , Brunswick Georgia (10)

i stopped yesterday to get fuel and a dock for the evening. i called on VHF and Sue answered. She was so customer focused and gave me all relevant information. When completing the information at their office I was given a bottle of wine, a free bag of ice and tickets for happy hour for drinks. Everyone I encountered were totally professional..I have never stayed anywhere that I was made to feel so good.! Would highly recommend to all Boaters..

Great stay again, 2017-02-03

Everybody at Old Port Cove is great. They squeezed us in with little notice and no complaint. The marina and the boats are nicely maintained. Good food and Sandpiper. Just a nice vibe.
Everyone seems to want you to stay there.

the gold standard for marinas, 2017-02-01
Captain: , Blue Mesa Co (100)

my 2nd visit was just as great as my 1st. easy in-out, good docks, helpful staff, all the amenities, a good sit down restaurant on site as well as a snack bar for a quick snack, sandwitch or pizza; a popular & convenient location, & all that at a competitive price.

A favourite stop for us, 2017-01-22
Captain: , Point Edward (459)

Stopped for one night before crossing and were very fotunate to get a slip. Many thanks for that. Same great review. Happy hour really packs in the bar area.

Excellent staff. Docks in great condition. Whole facility is well maintained. Showers and washrooms very clean. Wifi excellent all the way out to the far docks. Courtesy shuttle available. On site restaurant is a bonus.

Good, but not great, 2016-12-19
Captain: , Plantation, FL (10)

Stayed here a couple days ove Thanksgiving weekend, 11/24-11/27. Docks are excellent. floating concrete with adequate width for vessel. Came in on Thanksgiving so no staff, and got plenty of help from adjacent captains. WRT amenities, shower and Laundry facilities were very nice, along with captain's lounge and fitness center. But that's where the good stops. On site restaurant (Sandpipers Cove) has a very lmited selection. We got "to go", and food was miniscule in portion size and notwell prepared. I got a burger and fries, wifegot salmon. Burger was OK (somewhat ubndersized for cost), but fries were almost raw, greasy and disgusting. Salmon portion was minute, and also undercooked. Only good thing I can say is that when we called to complain, they promptly brought replacement meals at no cost. Pool they advertised is actually about a mile down US 1, so use is limited to those with transportation, and willing to make the trip. Also, the pool is a lap pool, with no area to simply hang out in warer. I would stop there for an overnight, but don't plan on any longer stay.

Management response:
Ahoy Captankirk:
Further to the direct message we sent you, we want to thank you for taking the time to send us your comments. We'd like all boaters to know that we offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the North Palm Beach Country Club pool and apologize that you may not have known this. The entire staff is continually "striving for 5" stars and we hope you will give us another chance in the near future. Wishing you safe travels in 2017! Best, Sue Morgan, Marketing Director

Captain: , Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4666)

Update October 2015: We returned to OPC for one night on our way to the Keys. This wass days after Hurricane Matthew. OPC was up and running, and remains one of the friendliest marinas that we have ever visited. Highest recommendations.

From Susie in the office to Mike in the maintenace department, to the cooks in the Express and the restaurant, the people here are terrific. Special thanks to Mark for the warm welcome and serious attention to detail, and the Jay for handling both repairs as well as manning the office on Saturadays. This is what a marina should be, and when our travels are over we may well make this our permanent home. The only negative that I can come up with is that you will have to leave if there is a named storm, but given that rarity, Old Port Cove is flawless.

Fabulous place, exceeding our expectations at every turn, 2016-10-19
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (1220)

From the cheerful and professional help guiding us in on our first visit to the charming 90 yr old gentleman strolling the seawall from his condo, Old Cove Port Marina has proven to be a real treat. We were intending to hop out the Lk Worth cut for the Bahamas but the window wasn't there, so we stopped for an indulgence at OCP.

Strong docks, clear breeze, great power, water, and wifi. Great dock guys showed us our slip and got us tied up crisply despite the imminent squall bearing down. We checked in and, as first-timers, they gave us a bottle of wine! Fitness center, walking trails, pool, nice (maybe a tetch stuffy) restaurant. Many other restaurants, West Marine and Publix within walking distance or their free shuttle will take you anywhere within reason and bring you back. Lots of really large power boats (eg. Tiger Woods' 155ft Privacy) with their professional boat care keep the place snappy looking.

First Class Marina & Staff, 2016-06-15
Captain: , Pensacola (460)

It had been 3 years since we last visited this marina, and our 2 week stay in May was just as good as the last one. Everything about the marina -- the docks, facilities, and most of all the staff (office and dockhands) were first-rate. Everyone seems so glad to have you there and are very accommodating.

Excellent marina. Did like the bottle of wine. Nice touch. There was a nice restaurant on site! Also complimentary cokes or coffee in the morning. The ladies at checking gave our doggie a cookie as well. We will be back

Captain: , Everett WA (50)

Very nice facilities, helpful staff, free shuttle to shopping, and a free bottle of wine! What's not to like? Well....better connections to West Palm Beach via public transit, that would be nice.

The Best Florida Marina, 2016-05-02
Captain: , Bellingham (40)

Old Port Cove is a our favorite Marina on the FL ICW. Beautiful floating docks, great wifi, superb shopping within walking distance, tremendous staff - and cable TV! The overall feeling of the property is first rate.

Very Nice Marina, 2016-04-24
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (728)

Stayed here April 5 & 6 2016. Got in late after a long day but had very clear directions to our slip. The marina and grounds are in top shape and run very well. The welcome package was very nice.
Several stores in easy walking distance including West Marine, we did not use the shuttle.

Six Star Marina, 2016-04-08
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1025)

We have stayed at Old Port Cove a number of times. It always has very clean restrooms and showers, a nice workout room, good laundry facilities, a snack bar (with free coffee!) and a very good restaurant. In addition, if you need work done, Mike Bergin seems to know everyone who is anyone in the repair and/or maintenance business and has employees of his own that can actually give your boat a good cleaning at a reasonable price. And, of course, if you need to, you can use the courtesy van for trips to Publix, West Marine or most other stores important to boaters.

In addition, the staff has always been willing to work with us, so we can get a decent slip when we needed it. Overall, one of the few marinas in the AC inventory to which I would give six stars if it were possible.

World Class Marina, 2016-03-04

We have not stayed in a better staffed or run marina.

Country Club feel at a good price, 2016-01-25
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (240)

The facilities are top notch. Suzie and the staff are super nice. You do get a free bottle of wine when you check in. Docks are floating, composite material and appear to be brand new with adjustable cleats. There is a pump out at each slip. They will take jerry cans to the fuel dock by golf cart, fill them, return them to your boat and add the fuel to your bill at no extra charge. Laundry is available but was pricey. They are adding some services and had recently added on site fuel polishing to that list. The daily rate was very competitive but they don't give a monthly discount which is a shame. There are a lot of mega yachts on the outside slips and more regular sized vessels inside. They have a free shuttle van that runs from 9am to 4pm M-F, free coffee, an onsite restaurant, bar, a deli/express style restaurant with a small store, nice Captain/crew lounge with a TV, plus a small fitness center. Not much in short walking distance though. West Marine is about 1.2 miles away along with some nice restaurants. The Marina is in a gated high rise condo development so very secure, but a little isolated feeling.

Top Shelf Marina, 2016-01-22
Captain: , Sebastian, Florida (387)

Very posh marina with very curteous, helpful, and professional staff. The marina apparently is geared towards the very large power vessel crowd. That said, we (on our relatively small Cape Dory 36) felt rather out of place going in there for a few gallons of diesel and a few gallons of water. We were charged $5 for about ten gallons of water which I felt was a rip off but I am sure it is due to some folks abusing the availability on a big scale. Despite this we were pleasantly and efficiently processed before we moved on. Also, I should mention that the space is rather tight in the marina (for turning a sailboat, etc). I would go back.

Great stay!, 2016-01-04
Captain: , Mayport Florida (452)

Stayed here from 12-15 December awaiting a weather window to cross to the Bahamas. Extremely nice facilities with superior service and excellent perks (free bottle of wine and morning coffee every day). Very knowledgeable staff and professional linehandlers that were a big help in docking during gusty conditions. Hard to beat the rate in this part of Florida.

Wonderful place, 2015-12-28

Top notch facility and staff. Reasonably priced too. With Boat US discount, taxes and electric, it comes to just over $2/ft/night.
We stopped twice for 3 nights total and will again next time this way.

It's Also the Little Things, 2015-12-15
Captain: , MV Red Head (3106)

Update 2015: Still one of our favorite stops. Facilities are always top notch and the staff is as good as it gets! Add a complimentary bottle of wine, beautiful yachts to drool over, and places to walk the canine crew and there's nothing more I need. They have added a shuttle service to take you to Publix, which we didn't need but once again shows their attention to boaters' needs. It doesn't matter if you are a modest DeFever or a huge yacht, you will always be treated special here. We'll always be back!

Everything about this marina is top notch. I second all the wonderful comments made by the other reviewers! Of course, when you see a marina with this many great ratings you expect great things and we weren't disappointed. Even so we were surprised by some of the small but significant features. For example, two dockhands expertly helped us pull into our slip and when one noticed our line crossed our side door making it difficult to get the dogs on and off he said, "Give me a minute and I'll just move that cleat." What??? He loosened some screws, slid the cleat down, tightened them up, and re-tied our line. Movable cleats that can be customized to my boat! Now that says customer service!

WOW. Really a first class Marina at a reasonable price. Laundry $2 per wash, $2 per dry. Free shuttle to grocery, West Marine, local mall. Free bottle of wine. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very clean facilities. After BoatUS discount it was $2/foot per night inclusive of taxes and utilities. If you are departing for the Bahamas from Lake Worth this is a must for last minute preparation.

We are a 35' Sloopin the land of mega-yachts. When we checked in, we were welcomed warmly, and presented a bottle of wine! During our week here, we were treated like everybody else - none of the snobbery we've encountered further south. Everyone was terrific. There is a shuttle that will take you to the huge West Marine across the street, Publix, anywhere. They even ran me down to Riviera Beach to pick up a part! Pricey, but worth it.

we stopped for a week here to do some provisioning , and get some repairs done. Mike Bergen and Jay were very responsive in getting the parts we needed and promptly getting the work done.
we replaced the main battery bank, and replaced joker valve on the head, had fuel filter changed.
good access to shopping at west marine and publics. good to rent a car to get to nearby malls and restaurants. Would recommend. Only wish it had a pool.

A very nice first class marina. The staff are all excellent; very courteous, and very helpful. The marina itself is in good condition, like new. The restruant is also first class and has a complete menu. The fuel dock is easy to get to, and the slips are fairly well protected form the wind. We enjoyed our stay.

First Class Operation, 2015-05-17
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (30)

We love this marina. From Suzy and the dog loving folks in the office to Vinnie and his helpful, proficient dock crew - these folks are the best. They take the time to know their boater guests and they will bend over backwards to share local info and respond to boater needs. Only one issue and that relates to the material used for their floating docks. It's a special teak like wood and it looks great - but it attracts dirt. The dirt then finds its way to your decks. Perhaps they could hose the decks off to reduced the dirt accumulation. For all the best reasons they deserve 5 stars!

Top Notch!, 2015-05-14
Captain: , Melbourne, FL (239)

Sunday May 3rd, 2015 - This is one of the best marinas I have stayed at in Florida. All marinas should take a lesson from them. Help with docking, pump out at my slip, beautiful clean bathrooms, great captains lounge and the best office staff around. We did not need to use their free shuttle to Publix. We did eat at the on site restaurant and it was a great dinner. All of this for a great per foot transient price.

Top notch establishment, 2015-05-06
Captain: , Las Cruces,, NM (190)

We spent a week here while friends visited from out of town. This is a first rate establishment with first class services. Staff are very helpful even down to helping us expedite a business issue we had. The courtesy car is great taking us to the grocery store and even to the nearby park to rent kayaks. The onsite bar and resstsurant "Sandpipers" was very good, friendly staff, happy hour drinks and the food was really good. I had the special one night which was a three course meal for $15, can't beat that.

Best Marina I have ever vistited, 2015-04-28
Captain: , Solomons, MD (195)

Hands down the best marina I have ever visited: accomodated me when no one else had room or even made an effort, exceptional support docking and even let us change locations at the last minute, outstanding staff support and customer service, pristine showers and lounge, wonderful express cafe and fabulous resturant and bar on site, very flexible when we needed to stay and extra two days, amazing service and beautiful facilty--would have paid double what they charge. A "must use" for the Palm Beaches area. Cannot praise them enough.

Protected harbor, easy in and out, floating docks in excellent condition, pump out at your slip, great help in the office and on the docks, boaters lounge with TV and a separate room with booths for PCs, some of the nicest heads and showers we've ever seen, clean laundry room with 4 washers, dryers that look and work like new, a great restaurant with 2 bars that serve daily specials plus a small snack shop that sells wine, pizza, breakfast sandwiches, etc. and to top it off a courtesy van for trips to Publix, West Marine, etc. And they provide Boat US members a nice discount. Need something shipped in? They do that too. It's our go to stop on the way to and back from the Bahamas. They simply do everything well!

Great Facilities -- Nordhavn Heaven, 2015-04-22
Captain: , Prattville, AL (300)

We stayed at Old Port Cove for 11 weeks. While we were technically "stuck" for repairs and maintenance, it was a great place to be.

The restaurant on the marina property -- Sandpiper's Cove -- is excellent. For variety, there are several other decent places to eat withing walking or dinghy distance.

The marina staff were, for the most part, helpful and friendly. The courtesy van is helpful, but you cannot rely on it to always be available because their priority is to ferry the restaurant workers rather than the marina guests.

There is an Enterprise car rental place about a half-mile from the marina and lots of shopping opportunities -- e.g., CVS, Publix, West Marine, etc. -- within just a mile or two.

If you have a Nordhavn, this is where it's happening for the southeast. The Nordhavn Southeast office is right outside the marina, and they were very helpful to us. Additionally, James Knight and his Yacht Tech team are Nordhavn gurus.

We will gladly stay at Old Port Cove Marina when we're in the area again.

Bella Mare-

We were there for a week in late April with the DeFever group. The facility and staff are a step above based on our experience from providing a step ladder when needed to drop everything service when my ME failed. Whatever we needed they gladly provided. You will enjoy your stay.

Definitely a Five Star Marina, 2015-04-07
Captain: , Little River, SC (476)

Great facility and a great staff all rolled into a great place to stay. There really isn't much to add from the previous reviews. This is one of the very few marinas we have visited on our year long great loop that we would go out of our way to visit again.

Well worth the visit, 2015-03-30
Captain: , Pungoteague, VA (272)

This is a great marina, with free shuttle service to anyplace within a couple of miles, including a Publix, a large West Marine and the Gardens Mall. Water is fine, wifi was spotty. The restaurant is excellent, and they will deliver to your boat. We will be bck!

As previous reviews, this pace is a gem, good docks, great staff and excellent showers. It also has a good laundry and a good restaurant. Free shuttle to Publix and West Marine (flagship store).

If you are in a Nordhavn, talk to James Knight (Yacht Tech) he will get you a substantial discount.

Captain: , Sarasota, FL (10)

Spent 3 nights at OPC and it's great stopping place to stage for the Bahamas. They're nice folks, the restaurant is first rate (as is the bar) and they have free Onspot WiFi which we've found to be the best internet we've used at any marina we've stayed.
A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. We'll definitely stay here on the way back.

very helpful dock hands and easy to get to fuel dock. took their shuttle to Publix and had great service. they were there waiting when we finished shopping. clean facility and helpful staff. only complaint was cost for electric as we are a sailboat that only needs it for charging batteries and running fridge. they did discount it to a more reasonable price for what we used it for so no real complaints.

Welcoming, warm, wonderfully managed, 2015-02-15
Captain: , Geneva, Illinois (90)

We appreciated the help we received docking, accessing transportation to and from PBI, the wonderfully maintained boater resources and most of all the great people who work here. The Sandpiper Restaurant is excellent. Gourmet food - lovely presentations - and terrific service.

Captain: , Wiscasset, Maine (40)

We've been cruising for 35 years and have never been in a better marina. After several days of sitting on our anchor in Lake Worth we were ready for a change and had an issue that required repair service. As owners of a mid sized cruising sailboat we were intimidated by the mega yachts but found the marina welcomes boats of all sizes. The staff is very friendly, competent, and helpful. The service manager, Mike, knows his stuff. The facilities are excellent. The showers and laundry room are spotless. The restaurant serves very good food. Dockage fees and restaurant prices are very reasonable. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Captain: , Hartfield, VA (160)

Beautiful floating docks, ecellent restaurant, and a very friendly and helpful staff who presented us a bottle of wine upon arrival. Marinia manager provided us some excellent advice for remainder of our trip to the Keys. Pet friendly place but surrounded by high rise condos with few green spaces for walking your dog.

Very happy with this marina, 2014-12-17
Captain: , Scottsdale (421)

Susie professionally handled the VHF for the marina when we came in and the dock hands were waiting for us.

A good restaurant and convenience store is on site. The restrooms were clean and appealing.

We rode our bikes to a big mall about three miles away. A West Marine and Publix is with a mile or so.

We needed a taxi to the airport and Susie referred us to Roy, who turned out to be a gem. Highly recommend Roy - 561-891-1354 for any transportation.

Update: 12/12/14 - Kept our 40ft. Catamaran there for a week while we flew home. The winds were strong, but with the highrise buildings around, no problems. Susie and the staff are still wonderful

Still our favorite Stop, 2014-12-09
Captain: , Madison, Ohio (400)

Great marina, keeps getting better close to shopping, West Marine, and great Docks and Showers. They outdid themselves with the renovations, new resturant, snack bar and store, remodled showers, fittness club, and boaters lounge. New and much improved Wifi. Also one of the best staff on the ICW. This will always be a stop for us.

Captain: , Montreal, PQ, Canada (560)

This place is definitely one of the best marinas I have ever visited. Transient rate (with boat US discount) very reasonable. Extremely clean and modern restrooms and laundry facilities. Shuttle service to WM and groceries. Complimentary wine bottle at check-in! Nice bar and restaurant (offers 50% off on food for early birds).

BTW, I also recommend a visit to COD AND CAPERS seafood restaurant if you like incredibly fresh fish and seafood, and lots of it in term of choice. It is a 10 minute walk from the marina, off the gated community

Best Marina We've Stayed At, 2014-11-19
Captain: , Charleston (400)

Easily the nicest place we've ever stayed. Price is great too. We were here for 2 days to do a little work in the boat. Ed, who drives the courtesy shuttle, was able to take me to get some tools even though it's not on his route.

Facilities are really nice. Great gym, great bathrooms, and the docks are huge. If we're near by again we will definitely stay.

We had to temporarily dock our boat here to get worked on and have stuff done by James Knight. Marina is in great shape, nice floating docks, great food at the Sanpipers resteraunt. Overall nice place, would not hesitate to stay here again.

A great stop!, 2014-08-20
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (654)

We stayed 9 days while we visited the sites in Palm Beach. This is by all accounts a 5 star plus marina at $1.33/ft for Boat US members. The grounds are kept manicured to the 9s. Pump outs are done by the marina staff all you need to do is pick up the phone. Trash is located on the dock no more that 3 slips separates the trash receptacles we witnessed trash being p/u twice a day. The showers are A/C'ed your not hot after the shower. The restaurant on site is reasonably priced by NPB standards. If you have a car on site the front gate can be a bit frustrating with the deride security. Overall a must stop, Old Port should be very proud of their great marina.

Captain: , Rockport, ON, Canada (265)

Dropped in for 3 nights after crossing back from West End Bahamas.

Needed a/c problem fixed. On-site staff were fast and professional. Replaced raw water pump and flushed system. Price for work was excessive since the flushing did not require full time attendance by technician but I was charged as if he was.

On-site convenience store and restaurant were excellent. Docks and facilites were exceptionally clean and new. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Pulling in here in our Jefferson 42 we did not know whether we'd be bologna at the bar mitzvah or not as we were one of the small guys. The staff here treated us like royality! As with the previous comments concerning the professsional staff, friendly service, clean and modern showers/laundry facilities, etc. etc. our expectations were exceeded in every aspect. Had one of my AC units recharged by Ice Marine, recommended by Mike the Director of Yacht Maint. Same day quick service, professional technicians. I did have some issues connecting to their wifi, but with my booster was able to get decent speed.

We stayed at Old Port Cove in late Apirl. It is definately first class--great facilities and great folks. Publix is only 3/4 miile from marina. Prices were more reasonable that other top end marinas. Don't go here if you are intimidated by fine yachts--there are plenty here.

Captain: , Charlestown (946)

We have been to quite a few marinas and this one hits on most cylinders. Great service, good dock hands and nice facilities with services close by. The only thing lacking, in our opinion, to bring it to a 5 star was a pool, but that may not be a critical point for others. Sitting by the pool drinking their free bottle of wine would have made it a six!

Above and Beyond....all I can say, 2014-03-22
Captain: , Hobe Sound, FL (10)

Have stayed here a few times but first time I have written a review...because the story has to be told. First, outstanding service, outstanding staff, high quality floating docks, great food. Now, the story. While retrieving a dock line my buddy's watch snapped off his wrist and yes...into the drink. Gone forever....lot of sentimental value. A few beers later and starting to be able to talk about it again he tells one of the dock hands the story....tragic. Dockhand says let me see what we can do....days go by, we are no longer at that dock and my buddy gets a call that say's "hey, we have your watch"....Old Port Cove asked one of the local divers cleaning the bottom of a nearby boat to take a look for the and watch reunited...AND IT STILL WORKS! Thanks Old Port Cove...above and beyond...all I an say.

We accepted our new (used) boat here from the broker and begain our provisioning and some post-purchase repairs and maintenance. Hand carts were readily available and a comprehensive recycling yard to accept discard materials. The on-site restaurant was fairly priced and very good food. The dock hands were friendly and offered help without being asked. What a great way to start our voyaging!

A terrific marina experience! A well-protected location in a cul-de-sac off the ICW, plenty of depth, easy in and out, modern floating docks in wonderful condition, knowledgeable dock hands to help when you arrive, good directions on the VHF, all in a lovely marina setting with excellent amenities--a captain's lounge, laundromat, on-site restaurant with better than average food. The marina is dog friendly and has a very nice 2-mile walking path. And all at very competitive prices. Excellent nearby shopping but you'll need a car and Enterprise is nearby. What's not to like?

Great marina!! It has easy in and out and the staff were very helpful directing and getting into the slip. The office staff was very helpful as well. They provide a Boat US discount as well. The restrooms, laundry, showers and boater%u2019s lounge were fantastic. New bright, clean and climate controlled. December, 2013 - Hard to find anything to fault here. It's remarkably good. And a remarkably good value. Good people, good facilities, good protection from weather. It's all good. None better!

For us, the best was the easy access to good provisioning and the big West Marine up the road. Not an easy walk, but not too bad.

And then there is Carmine's: it will amaze you if you get up to PGA Blvd. You may want to move to Palm Gardens just to be near Carmine's. Not to be missed.

The staff at Old Port Cove could easily provide %u201Ccustomer service training%u201D to a lot of marinas that want to do a better job. They are outstanding. They gave me a free night because of the way I%u2019d been treated at New Port Cove, drove me all over town to the bank, West Marine, and the market. Arranged to ship my failed outboard back to the manufacture at no charge to me, found me a dealer who could sell me a replacement, sent a very capable mechanic to my boat to address an electrical issue, and gave me free coffee daily and a bottle of wine when I arrived. All the nice things that others have said are all true. The level of customer service is top shelf and I look forward to stopping here again.

Captain: , Hilton Head Island, SC (377)

The floating docks, lounge, showers, workout room and at-slip pump-outs add up to an outstanding experience. The reasonable price for BoatUS members is an added bonus.

I have to say that I was most impressed by the showers and bathroom facilities. The showers are the nicest and roomiest I have thus far experienced.

Sandpiper's Cove restaurant at the end of the docks is very good. Ask to be waited on by Patsy. She's one of the best waitresses my wife and I have ever had the pleasure of encountering.

The marina manager, Vinny, goes out of his way to accomodate his customers. They will do just about anything to make your life on the water easier. In fact, I was told by a year-round tenant that the marina will provide a car and driver to take customers to nearby grocery stores, etc. I haven't independently confirmed this, but you might want to inquire.

The only two things that, if changed, would make this a six star marina would be to get rid of Beacon WiFi (universally despised) and install recycling bins. It's amazing how much recycling we carry around until we find a marina that offers recycling bins.

Swanky! But not pricey! Staff is so friendly and helpful!

Wonderful facilities... floating docks, pump-out at your slip, showers and bathrooms first class, very nice fitness center and laundry facilities. They hosted a free happy hour for the boaters while we here and it was top notch.

The restaurant has very good food and the wait staff was excellent. We even had pizza delivered to the boat one night.

We walked to Pulbix and the marina arranged to have us picked up by their shuttle.

Highly recommend this marina!

We also had Dick Murray from Murray Marine come and commision our Spectra watermaker. He reviewed the installation, fixed a few issues with the installation and then ran the watermaker and made sure it was working ok. He was great! And he shared a lot of 'tips' with us about the water maker. Thanks Dick!

Captain: , Terra Ceia, FL (91)

We have stayed a number of times at Old Port Cove over the last four years. If there were ever a place which deserves a 5 star rating, this is it. On our most recent arrival, after we docked and were tying up lines, one of the dock attendants volunteered: "Would you like us to relocate some cleats for you?" That is an example of the great service which is provided at every level. Marina manager Mark Lavery, Dockmaster Vinnie, Suzi in the front office, and ALL of the staff are exceptional. The facility is top-notch, and the prices are reasonable for the area. The addition of an on-site restaurant (we've eaten there twice already - it's excellent) plus a separate take-out counter are nice upgrades.

After being at anchor or on mooring balls for months, this was a great place to clean up the boat and get reorganized and provisioned for the balance of the trip home. Highly recommend you give this marina a stay on the way to Keys or the Bahamas. On this visit they gave us a nice carry bag with local information and two stainless coffee mugs. Free coffee in the mornings if the take the mug into the convenience store.

Old Port Cove Marina is really NEW!, 2013-03-13
Captain: , Roseville, MN (372)

This is an amazing place. Sand Piper opened Dec 2012 and the food is excellent. Hit the happy hour for 2 for 1 and evening specials. Patsy, our waitress, was superb. The hostess checked in with us as we left. Another great benefit is the Cod and Capers Restaurant 2 blocksnorth on the west side of the highway. An amazing seafood restaurant and fish market. Biked by for a week and stopped because a woman on the PGA bridge said it was superb. So glad we followed her advice.

Fitness room, cruiser's lounge, laundry, showers all beautiful and excellent. And the price is so nice. People need to know about this place. Staff on hand to help with the lines. Susie in the office is so efficient. Also a cafe/convenience store with wine etc. A great choice at a very good price.

Very nice place to relax, 2013-02-14

There is also a Fitness Studio beside the Bathrooms. Very clean Marina - there are also 2 bars and a restaurant on site. Will stay here again anytime

Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (650)

Great facilithy and staff. Handling of check in very good. With floating slips it is now a large marina and we were a long way from the offce. Staff gave us golf cart rides back and forth. They have restaurant on location and a pizza shop also. Would be five star except they use Beacon wifi, an indpendent company for their wifi. While it worked I object to being redirected to Internet Explore or equivalent and supplying personnel data such as my address and email to get an acct before getting on internet. This is third marin where I've had experience with Beacon wifi. I don't like it, but it does appear secure.

Spent 4 days at Old Port Cove waiting to cross to the Abacos and had a great time at this marina as we have in the past. Staff was wonderful and accomodating while they were undergoing renovations. Many stores were nearby and within walking distance.

Old Port Cove Marina, 2012-11-26
Captain: , Bristol, RI (350)

Off the ICW a bit, but well worth it. The office staff, Susie, was knowledgeable on how to get into the marina's channel. This is important when you have never been here and was truly appreciated. The marina is tucked into a condo / highrise complex, but you don't realize it in a slilp. The dock staff, Nate, assisted us with fuel and bedding into a slip. The slips are new floating concrete docks-very nice! I appreciated the fact that I did not have to deal with pilings. Renovations on facilities are being made with restaurant, fitness center, marine store, deli, etc. in the works. We hope to return in the spring since these improvements should be completed in December. Even without them, we were comfortable here. It has a CLEAN marina status. Tomfoolery, Bristol, RI

Captain: , little river (269)

Wonderful marina. Arrived 06-22-12. Docks are floating and in excellant condition. The bath rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff are great, very friendly, efficient, professional, and go to any length to make your stay comfortable. Came in right at closing but we were met at the slip and tied up and checked in very efficiently, never rushed, and made to feel very welcome. Loaned me a 50 amp splitter and offered to change the outlet to 30 amp. Any time I am here I will use this marina.

Outstanding Staff and Great Marina, 2012-05-20
Captain: , Houston TX (349)

This place is fantastic! The staff are so helpful and genuinely nice and did not treat us any different with only a 42' boat (a real exception for this part of Florida). They are very dog-friendly in the office. The docks are floating metal with adjustable cleats and in perfect shape. The laundry facility is small but clean and the showers are great. They are actively working to update the marina with a restaurant and other facilities planned for the fall. There are several restaurants within a short walk, along with a West Marine and a Publix. And the price is very reasonable for this area of Florida. We will definitely be back next year!

Outstanding Marina, 2012-03-30
Captain: , Seabrook, TX (323)

Never have we experienced a more helpful nor experienced staff, ready at a moment's notice to bring pumpout equipment or cart ice to our boat. Showers, heads, and laundry facilities good, docks outstanding, prices good for the area.

A great Stay, 2012-03-11
Captain: , Portsmouth, RI (260)

Stille a great place.
Stayed here last month and found the facilities and staff top notch.

Great experience docking and there was always the offer for extra help.

Now isn't that what a marina should be?

Sometimes makes many others pale.

DeFever Cruisers Rendezvous Report, 2012-03-06
Captain: , North Palm Beach, FL (539)

Our owners' club, DeFever Cruisers, held a rendezvous here with 20 boats in the 43 to 65 foot range, March 2-4, 2012. It was a great success. The marina personnel were fantastic. They moved boats to get us all on one dock, helped with preparations, and set tables for our "Docktail" party on the arrival day. 100% helpful, friendly, and competent. Slip fees were priced to please. The marina docks are the best I have found in 18 years of cruising. First class marina at a fair price.

We held our meetings at the nearby (1 mile) North Palm Beach Country Club, which is a city-owned, public course and club house. Our seminars and six meals were easily accomodated in the main dining and meeting room. The food and beverage people got a standing ovation from our members. They have the right attitude and very fair prices. This is a good venue for meetings and group dining.

A favorite, 2011-04-13
Captain: , Kilmarnock, VA (300)

We stayed here for a few days and felt it was one of the finer marinas. Location was excellent the staff was very helpful. In fact I needed a simple part while doing some routine maintenance which they found, drove and got it for me, above and beyond in my book.
Great floating docks good power and easy access.
would both reecomend it to others and will stay there again.

Wonderful Marina, 2011-03-03
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (227)

Excellent floating docks, well protected slips, elegant gated community, convenient shopping and restaurants. With 25% BoatUS discount, price is less than Riviera Beach Marina to which I awarded one star.

BTW: they emailed me to thank me for this review, so they're obviously paying attention, something that you would expect of an excellent marina.

Great facility, 2011-02-07
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1997)

We stayed here in late January after hitting a submerged object they had a diver already scheduled for us and have been great.

Once all the repairs are done we plan on staying again for a few days close to alot of retail and West Marine. Security keeps area safe at night and great walk ways and pet friendly.

Boat US discount is great, highly recommended
