Reviews for Old Harbor Dock
In the middle of the action but not luxurious, 2015-08-26

The slips are right in the middle of the day and night time activity. However, the bathrooms are not horrible, but not the cleanest. Also, the bathrooms are now locked overnight with no access, even for boaters. Additionally, there is no water or electrical hookups along the eastern bulkhead as there was in the past. An extra length of electrical shoreline is worth bringing along. It may be enough to get you to a dockside power outlet. There are plans in the near future to reinstall electrical and water connections along this bulkhead.

8/2015
Electric and water now available on eastern bulkhead. However, continue to bring extra shore power cords to reach shorepower if you are rafted to other boats.

Stayed here at the end of summer which its not short on having a good time shopping and visiting all the bars and restaurants. If u have a the chance to come too the Island stay in New Harbor .Much more quiet on the other side of the Island, U just have too deal with the wake from the high speed ferry.

There are better places to be in a NorEaster, 2010-10-04

We docked here on vacation. Started out at Paynes in New Harbor, moved here to be closer to town. This is in the very heart of New Shorham with all the shops and restaurants. It's not a big place so in season it's a crap shoot to get space on the wall. No floating docks. Holed up here for an extra 4 days waiting on weather to break. Rough time banging against the wall with little protection from the wind.

We had no trouble getting space at the dock here right after Labor Day last year -- right in front of Ballards, which was pretty quiet on a weekday night. Old Harbor is smallish and it was fun to sit and talk to the fishermen and watch the ferry come and go. You are right at the retail center of town.
