Great Service, 2016-12-22
Captain: , St Thomas (30)

Very friendly and helpful. Premium fuel

Best diesel prices, 2016-10-25
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

Been here a number of times, always best prices, new dock is nice, 10-8-14 price was 3.224 per gallon with all taxes and fees. Also has 30 gpm feed. Pay by check to get this price.

10-18-15 Over 1000 price is $1.923 if you pay by check. Very cordial staff.

1025-16 Over $100 price is$2.13 per gallon with check. Sam is very cordial and helpfull.

Great fuel prices! 8/09/16, 2016-08-09
Captain: , Burns Harbor Indiana (881)

Diesel was $172.00 including tax!! Shawn was a really nice guy and extremely helpful.

Best $$ on ICW in south, excellent service THIS IS THE FUEL STOP, 2014-11-29
Captain: , Montreal Qc., Canada (100)

I shop for good fuel prices. When I go slow I burn 3 gls per hour, when I go fast I burn 28 gals per hour, I try to always go slow.
This was best priced fuel listed in Active Captain AND waterway guide anywhere in Georgia or Florida along the ICW.
I was not dissapointed. I was not looking for a freebie marina, I wanted to buy fuel, I di not need to see someone dressed in a white uniform, or be given a free lunch.
I had never stopped here before, Look for old ..Gulf Oil..sign on bldg exactly where shown on Active Captain website and clean new fendered docks with two new white boxes on it.
Called ahead on Wednesday at 5 pm as I needed fuel on Thanksgiving weekend's Friday am. Fellow on Phone was extreamly kind and yet uncertain of schedule on Friday Am of the Thansgiving weekend.
I asked if I should send an email to the person in chrge of fuel as noted on their website and he advised me to do so.
I had a reply from the owner within 10 min and said staff would be there from 9 am onwards on the Friday am. Pulled up to the dock from 13 miles away at 850 am and at 9 am was filling up with fuel. Big Kind hearted fellow, wonderful charcter, all the patience in the world, was sure not to spill any fuel, pumped my fuel from the dock, was difficult to give a tip to , handeled my lines and wished us well. Fuel Price was 3% more when paying with a credit card as stated on their website AND THIS EXTRA ENVIRONMENTAL FEE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED IS A NON ISSUE. I PAID 41 .6 CENTS ON 208 GALLONS . So whoever the previous poster is with the 100.00 charge I think he should bring his bill back and get properly informed. Also those expecting things to stay the same as in the past with free docks etc. should look at the rising cost of doing buisness, INSURANCE, repairs , and so on. The best price is the best price, if I want to get a free dock and be served by someone offering me a free Starbucks coffee then I will expect to pay more. I get the best fuel, with a real concerned attendant, and the office that answers my email with the owners signture AND did I mention THE BEST PRICE ON FUEL. we pay 1.65 per litre back home at our Yacht club I love this place and will be back.
THANK YOU Ocean Petroleum for keeping the costs down and extending them to us .

Disappointing stop, 2014-10-12
Captain: , jackson, TN (884)

We have stopped here for 7 years to fuel and overnight on their dock. Unfortunately, their insurance no longer allows overnights.
We had arranged to fuel on Sat. The man they set up to come fuel us had another job. After four phone calls and voice mails, he sent a text an hour after he was due saying he'd be unable to come. We wasted 3 hours waiting for a no show. Disappointing.

Ocean Petroleum No Longer an Overnight Stay, 2014-07-10
Captain: , bahia honda state park (70)

Ocean Petroleum no longer allows vessels to stay overnight at their docks due to insurance restrictions. Still best fuel prices, but cannot stay even for several hours during the day. I expect they will let you stay long enough to step next door to buy some shrimp from the local processors. The Brunswick Harbor Marina allows a 1 hour stay with no charge, but anything longer is an overnight charge. Managed to walk to shrimp processor, visit the beautiful old courthouse just off the Main Street across from the marina after getting a lift back from. the shrimp retail outlet within the one hour time limit. Marina staff no so friendly, but did let us stay the one hour for which we did thank them.

enviromental fee, 2014-06-11
Captain: , cruising (671)

I had a friend buy over 600 gallons on 5/29/14 and got an enviromental charge of over $100. I don't know details but I had an enviromental fee charged at Port Consolidated in Fernandina on 5/28. I stopped here before and did not have any extra fees, their cash price on the phone was just that, cash price.

Best price I could find, 2014-04-08
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

This is the best price I could find on the AICW & north through Maine. We paid $3.77 on our credit card & it would have been $3.67 with check or cash. Fuel up here them see the town of Brunswick. You won't regret it. The people here are very friendly.

Best price on fuel, 2014-04-07
Captain: , Fort Myers, Florida (687)

400 gallons cost $1,467 @ 3.67 a gallon including all taxes. Add 3% for payment by credit card. Ask nicely and you can fill your water tanks (city water)! :) Use your hose. ;) Nice floating dock; very friendly professional people!

$3.56 a gallon including all taxes, 2014-04-04
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (3132)

$3.56 a gallon including all taxes

great place for fuel, 2014-02-05
Captain: , Oxford, MD (392)

Stopped here 2/5/14 for fuel. Was $3.48 plus tax (cash). Great service, very friendly. Nice floating docks, no current. Best place for dilsel south of Portsmouth (Atlantic Yacht Basin was $3.39 1/23/14).

Best fuel price, 2014-01-11
Captain: , St. James, NC (253)

Stopped for fuel on 1-9-2014. They had the best price on diesel anywhere in GA or FL. We stop here on all trips north and south and they have had the best prices for the last 4 years in a row. Call ahead to arrange to have someone meet you at the dock, they do not have a vhf radio.

longer wait than expected, 2013-07-25
Captain: , Fort Pierce, FL (380)

we called about 1 hour before and she called back to let us know that someone would be there to help in 45 minutes. we got there earlier than planned but after a full hour and a half from first called had passed and theft had no idea why the guy was not there we went up to the Landing marina and had lunch. we called and went back and got fuel at $3.64 including taxes by paying cash. Wendy in office was very nice to talk with and very sorry for our delay

Cheap fuel, 2013-06-14
Captain: , Houston (774)

Diesel was $3.58/gal on 6/14/2013 including tax. They did not have an attendant available until 9AM so an early start can be a problem.

Great Service-Great Price, 2013-05-12
Captain: , Sanford, Fl. (887)

Call ahead on your cell and they will have someone waiting to help with the lines! In our case it turned out to be the owner! Prices are at least .50 per gallon less than any place around. Very friendly and helpful people. We bought 14 gallons of oil earlier in the week and got great service on that also! We fueled up again here on 11/25/12. We paid $3.68 gal for 420 gallons. Best price we had found on our way south had been $4.40 so felt good about the savings. We stopped again on 4/29/13. We only came in for fuel and then continued our trip north. As usual the prices are more than competitive, the help is friendly and they act like they are gald to see you. Just call ahead to make sure they will have someone availabe for docking assistance.

Cheap Diesel, 2013-04-16
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

We called ahead and were met and helped to the dock in some heavy wind. They will accept checks or cash for less that credit cards. After fueling we were pinned to the dock, and were given good advice and help to get off. Excellent cheap fuel

Best Price in FL or GA, 2013-04-08

DEFINITELY CALL. Best prices and very nice service.

Call first, 2013-01-16
Captain: , hampstead.n.c. (219)

We stopped in for fuel today without calling ahead and there was no one available to pump the fuel. So call ahead and arrange coverage. We will be able to get diesel early tomorrow morning. They are really nice people and we have purchased diesel there before so we will return.

Best prices around, great staff & service, 2012-12-15
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (780)

best place to fuel for miles -unbeatable prices and great service. they even had someone open the place up on a saturday morning so we coud fuel up. how often does that happen these days? will be back for sure next time I'm in the area.

I'm not sold, 2012-11-28
Captain: , MV Red Head (61833)

We came in for the first time to get fuel here. We wanted to see what it was like based on previous reviews and claims about great pricing. We picked up 400+ gallons at $4.07 per gallon. That price is OK but is significantly higher than any other fuel purchased this season.

The dock is sort of OK. It is nothing to rave about especially as a floating dock half of which has pilings on the outside - kind of odd. It feels like it's an imposition to call and ask to buy fuel - they want an hour's phone notice to "hopefully" have someone there to serve.

The guy who came out was pleasant enough but had no idea about anything regarding their product. He had no idea what the price was although he was able to tell us that there's no discount for cash but there's an extra fee for credit cards (I thought that wasn't allowed by credit card contracts). We pulled up to the dock unassisted but he did help us leave.

All in all, it's not a wonderful experience. I think other prices are close and the extra 16 miles to get there and back to the ICW makes this something that I'm not apt to do again.

Great Price and Location, 2012-11-19
Captain: , Ophelia, VA (849)

Prices here are better than farther south in florida because Florida State taxes are higher. They do not often answer on VHF - call their land line to schcedule a time to come in. They accomodated us at 4 P.M. on a Friday when they close at 5.
On our stop on 11/19/2012 to get 700 gallons of diesel, we only were able to get 500 as there is a fuel shortage due to Hurricane Sandy. Call ahead to check and make sure they have fuel.

New docks are really nice and much more convienent. Staff is super friendly. Fuel prices are going up and they were apoligetic about that.

Ocean Petroleum, 2012-11-12
Captain: , Clearwater, FL (551)

Look for "Ocean Petroleum" painted on one of the white doghouses on the floating dock. Its the only sign Topped off on 4-25-12 for $3.509/gal plus tax. The sport fish is no longer docked there.

11/09/12 The dock isn't free! We were charged $.14 per gallon extra for overnight dockage! We weren't told this in advance and didn't notice it on the bill until after they had closed for the weekend. Still the best price around for fuel but really, they should tell you this stuff in advance. There was no power or no other amenities, just a dock. Even though we were rafted off another boat we were still charge the extra.

Great Fuel Prices, 2012-11-12
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (555)

We had hoped to anchor near the Brunswick Landing Marina late in the day so we could take on fuel at Ocean Petroleum first thing in the morning. The OP docks were full, otherwise they would have let us stay at their docks overnight. After anchoring, the folks at Brunswick Landing informed us anchoring in that area is prohibited. We moved out to the Range Anchorage and spent the night there then fueled up the next day.

Best Option for Fuel on Florida/Georgia coast, 2012-10-10
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4307)

Clean fuel at consistently the best price with friendly, helpful staff, makes Ocean Petroleum at the top of the list for a fuel stop. And, if you time your arrival at later afternoon or evening, you may have a free night's dockage to add as a bonus.

Worth the side trip, 2012-09-20
Captain: , Full Time Cruisers (2244)

Although the place may appear a little run down, we have always had good service from the staff. The fuel prices are very good. Also, there fuel is very fresh from a high turnover due to thier high turnover rate.

Diesel Price & Location, 2011-11-04
Captain: , Branford, CT (1003)

We got fue today-$3.607 including all taxes. But, the real deal is their price on motor oil: Citco 40wt $10.43/gallon.

If you arrive late, ask them and you can spend the night (free) on their dock. That was our plan, but we could not ID their dock at night: Look for the owners sport fish "Fin-Ally". It will be on their 200'-ish floating dock. Set back is an old Gulf Oil sign.

Awesome deal!, 2011-10-30
Captain: , Daytona Beach, FL (100)

We called ahead and they advised us that they are closed Sat and Sun, but they let us stay Sat night. The owner son John came in early Sun morning and helped us fill up. That was awesome! We'll be back if we come this way again! The price is right too!

Ocean Petroleum - Best Fuel Prices, 2011-06-28
Captain: , Pensacola (460)

Although it was a bit out of our way, the price of the diesel fuel at Ocean Petroleum made it a worthwhile detour. (Todays cash/check price was $3.37 including tax; credit is 3% more). As mentioned by others, just call ahead and someone will meet you at the dock. Benjy was waiting for us when we arrived and was very professional, friendly and helpful - he even asked if we had any trash that we wanted to dispose.

Don't let the looks deceive you, 2011-04-25
Captain: , Savannah,GA (376)

First visit on 20-April-2011, well worth the stop for the savings on the fuel. Pumps are very fast, staff is friendly and thankful. Only sell diesel, no gas.

Great Price & Service, 2011-01-25
Captain: , Ottawa, Canada (363)

This was the least expensive place to fill up within a couple of hundred miles North. Shaunn met us at the dock and was very helpful both with fuel and the following day by driving me back to the boat in his own truck with two 5 gal jugs of oil. I was very impressed with his customer focus and willingness to please.

Thank you Big-Shaunn!

Really nce people - deserve your business!, 2011-01-05
Captain: , Whitby UK (111)

Serving pleasure boats are just an aside for 'Ocean', but the dock staff and the office staff are really friendly - like you bought a tanker load! We arrived nearly closing time, but one of the sales managers came out, smartly dressed, and served us diesel! Nice gent!
As it was nearly dark we were allowed to nightstop and the shore power was free! We couldn't get ashore - but on a cold night in late Nov, it mattered not a lot!
PS Ocean consistently have one of the cheapest fuel on the E-coast!

Great service, best prices, 2010-04-20
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (1323)

Ocean Petroleum has become a regular fuel stop for us. Worthwhile to work our fuel use to time a fill-up here. Their prices are the lowest in the region, our fueling experience has always been relaxed and with the focus on making us want to come back. Took on 700 gal. in Jan, another 775 in April.
The fellow helping us politely declined a tip, saying he'd prefer to have us come back again, that would be tip enough for him. Class act.
Will have new floating docks at our next visit. We'll be back!

Nice people; new floating dock, 2010-04-19
Captain: , Chesapeake Bay (592)

Low price brought me here, but they are genuinely nice people (they ignored my inelegant approach). New floating docks are there waiting to be installed.

There is substantial tide, but no tidal current. Wind should determine your approach.

I often tip the fuel/line guy at these places. Today he politely declined.

The Best Kept Secret, 2009-11-23
Captain: , South Portland, ME (537)

Ocean Petroleum is a great place to get fuel. Lowest fuel price in the area by $0.40 to $0.60 a gallon. I called Jack Oswald, the owner/manager, on his mobile phone on Saturday and he agreed to come in after church on Sunday to meet me so I could get 400 gallons of fuel. I call that service above and beyand!

Best Fuel Prices, 2009-11-13
Captain: , New Rochelle, NY (1000)

They are consistantly priced significantly lower than everyone else. I asked the owner how he did it and he told me that between his land customers and the shrimp fleet he pumps over 50,000 gallons of diesel a day.

Ocean Petroleum, 2009-10-14
Captain: , Pasadena, MD (1496)

EXCELLENT fuel prices. They are closed on weekends, but if you call ahead, they will come in and fuel you up. When we called, I estimated I'd take 200 gallons, and they agreed to open for me on Saturday morning for no additional charge.

Call first, 2009-01-22
Captain: , Clearwater FL (685)

Call first.. we called and could not dock for 5 hours becouse of big fishing boats being fueld.
