Reviews for Oasis Boat Yard and Marina
Fantastic Service, 2016-11-17
Captain: , South Lancaster (20)

We had been experiiencing a vibration in the drive train on our Sabre 402 sailboat and had tried on a few occaisions to have it looked at. The marinas we spoke to were overloaded with post Matthew work and couldn't find time to work on our boat. When we arrived in St. Augustine we decided we would get it fixed before proceeding and possibly causing more damage. After looking at the marina website we thought this would be a good place to visit and happened to bump into the the yard manager (Ryan) after hours. After a lenghty conversation and follow up phone call, a Monday morning test ride and haulout were arranged. By Wednesday afternoon the shaft had been removed and straightened, cutlass bearing changed, motor realligned and new prop installed. We were back in the water Thursday morning and after a short test ride on our way south. We are extremely grateful that the competent Oasis Boatyard staff found time in their busy schedule to take care of our needs.

I have had a boat sink on me before but never a house., 2016-11-01
Captain: , Marine Land FL. (10)

I have had a boat sink on me before but never a house. After the hurricane Mathew my home was flooded with 32%u201D of water. Oasis boat yard and marine came to my rescue. Ryan Barns the yard manager and his crew Eddie, Cody and Jordan came to my distress call. I have known Ryan since he was 15 years old and I am in my late 50%u2019s. x merchant seaman S.I.U. I have watched Ryan grow into a man of high integrity and moral standards and a leader among his peers. Ryan and his crew were God sent that day as we mocked though the sewage and debris 6 hours later I was in all of how well the crew took charge and worked together completing task. God has many angels on this earth and that day I met 4 of them.

Nothing But Good, 2016-06-30
Captain: , Nacogdoches (160)

Great place to have work done. Had our bottom job done here and found everyone to be professional, helpful, and friendly. Yard and docks were very crowded, a sign of how well liked this place is I suppose. Can walk to restuarants and most downtown sites, but groceries likely require tansportation.

Bottom Job done Right, 2016-05-04
Captain: , Oriental, NC (150)

You won't be disappointed in the service John and his crew provide to making you happy. John knows what it takes to do a job right and Jourdan is right there making it all happen. Dave and Anthony did a great job on our bottom job which needed heavy sanding, painting and running gear serviced. Clean yard, great bathrooms and good follow-up. We stayed on the boat for 10 days. Take the trolley to tour St. Augustine. Our job was a 44' Island Packet sail boat so if you're not a megayacht with a $$$ job, you need to go here for service. You will be treated like royalty. Love the dogs!

Stayed as Snow bird for 5 months, 11/2015 to 4/2016 great yard, 2016-04-16
Captain: , Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732 (190)

Cruised from The Chesapeake bay to Oasis for one month of yard work then some DIY, great yard. Not fancy but very clean restrooms and showers, in marina for 4.5 months, Great location .9 miles from town center and short dingy ride to Hurricane Pattys. Yard does major work on large sport fish and did several complex jobs for me.

Superb DIY Yard and Fiberglass work, 2016-03-24
Captain: , Orlando, FL (10)

Staff is pleasant, helpful and punctual. Rates are very good for St Augustine. Super clean bathrooms and showers. Fiberglass work was done right, on time and fairly priced. Secure gate and fenced grounds. Daze Inn

Superb Yard - Met All of Our Needs, 2016-03-20
Captain: , Las Vegas, Nevada (34)

We were here for 4 months, lived aboard on the hard and did all our own work with a couple of exceptions. The owner, John Spires, his family and other staff went out of their way to make sure we had all we needed to complete our topsides and bottom paint jobs on our 48 foot cutter. They have a 75 ton travel lift that had an extension for sailboats so you don't have to take down your forestay.

The yard is clean and well maintained, the bathrooms are new and spotless with great tiled showers, walls and floors.

It's a 25 minute walk to the Old City area and there's a nice local breakfast place 10 minutes away by foot.

Jourdan is the office manager and go-to person for everything. She is very helpful and will make sure you're taken care of from reservations to your splash back in the water. There are floating docks for when you arrive and depart that are very modern with water and power. It's a secure yard with an electric gate.

If you're in the area and need a marina or repairs, check with Oasis.

We will be back!, 2015-12-10
Captain: , Baltimore (419)

We were in Jacksonville, FL and needed a yard to repair a coupler that had come loose from the shaft. We had a bandaid on the coupler/shaft so we could travel. We planned to get the work done at one of the known boat yards in Jacksonville but they could not do the work for a month. We called and visited two yards in St. Augustine.

We noticed how clean the boat yard at Oasis was and in talking with Ryan, we were very impressed about his plan to fix our problem. We docked the night before at Oasis and were hauled first thing the next morning. Before lunchtime, Ryan and Ed had the rudders dropped, the props off, the shaft and couplers disconnected. Ryan approached our boat like it was his own boat - doing things correctly without taking short cuts and recommending improvements as he worked.

Oasis allowed us to live-aboard while on the hard. The bathhouse/showers are very clean.

John (owner) and Ryan drive their new 75 ton travel lift like they have been using it for years.

John, Ryan and Nancy are a great team. You get good service whether they are doing the work or if you choose to do it yourself. John and Ryan are extremely knowledgable and competent. We have stopped here many times and will again in the future. They really are full service and fully skilled.

Helpful Marina, 2015-05-20
Captain: , Jacksonville (40)

Had to find a full service marina after losing a prop/shaft and relied on active captain for help. Called Nancy who provided us guidance into location (a little tight but well protected). Greeted by Ryan (and a couple of friendly dogs) who arranged pull-out and went over the damage. Was impressed by Ryan and noticing the much bigger boats than ours he treated us like another customer. Decided to get some other repair items done as well. Great followup and detail oriented. A great choice if you want quality and less crowded full service marina.

good diy marina, 2015-02-11

great place to get some diy work done.

WORK WELL DONE, 2015-01-06
Captain: , Midway,GA (261)

I was going to have my bottom painted ,called the marina and was met at the dock to help with line handling and haul out. The bottom painting and extra work done on my running gear was quoted. NO SURPRISES. I also had other work done and all was done in a professional manner and without a quote. The extra work done was even cheaper than what I expected. NO SURPRISES !!!! The employees at the yard really TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK !!!!!! I had a fuel manifold replaced and it was manufactured at the yard and was well done , better than the one that came on the boat. They even did some little things above and beyone like fixing my cabin door so it would latch all the time. Nancy in the office is unblievable, the sweetest person you will ever meet and she is on top of everything. Nancy kept me informed of the process of the work being done. Maybe not the cheapest but in my book ,good workmanship out weighs cheap. I believe they were very fair with me on the work that was not quoted. Would I recomend this yard ? I most certainly would !!!!!!!!!!!! Will I come back again ? I most certainly will !!!!

Awesome Boat Yard & Marina, 2014-08-06
Captain: , Hudson (274)

After hauling out it was noted that the shaft needed some work so the yard took care of it. They are very experienced and very helpful. John, the owner gave me an estimate and Ryan put everything in place and the boat was back in the water in no time. Nancy worked with me on all of the scheduling and slip assingment. This is one of the most secure marina's I have been in.

Great Do-it-yourself yard, 2013-11-07
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (102)

We were on our way south and developed a vibration that required us to unexpectedly haul our trawler. The owner, John met us at the dock and helped diagnose our problem. We needed extensive strut realignment. Although I did much of the work myself, he and his staff helped when needed and were very knowledgeable. The yard and marina were very well kept and we had access to showers and laundry during our 2 day stay. Glad we chose Oasis!

Excellent Repairs, 2013-01-14
Captain: , Victoria (60)

We were installing a new autopilot and had John from Oasis make the mounting hardware. He did an outstanding professional job. I have been in the aviation industry for over 30 years and have not seen anyone do as high quality fabrication as John accomplishes.
I would highly recommend his shop for any repairs or service you would require.
They also have excellent floating concrete docks, great bathrooms and laundry facilities.

Great Do-it-Yourself Yard, 2012-11-19
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL. (251)

If you are looking for a good do-it-yourself yard try Oasis, you'll be glad you did. Fair prices and good people.

Excellent Boatyard, 2012-07-11
Captain: , New Braunfels (51)

Hauled at Oasis for bottom paint and bonding system checks and repairs. Accurate estimates were given for all work done. The owner, John, is on site everyday and oversees the work personally. While the boat was hauled I asked Oasis to help with several additional problems I had and they were very responsive and fair with pricing. The bill was as expected, no surprises. Oasis is now the boatyard I will consider my primary location for services.

AVOID OASIS BOAT YARD AND mARINA, 2011-03-31
Captain: , North Miami Beach, FL (70)

we had a an annual haulout for bottom painting and other maintenance including the installation of a thru hull transducer for a Furuno Fishfinder. After paying our bill and while the boat was in the TravelLift being launched, John Spires, the owner informed me that they had installed the wrong transducer in the hul. They had installed a transducer for a Raymarine unit that was not compatible with our Furuno unit. They refused to correct their error. As we are based in North Miami Beach and they are in St. Augustine, there was little we could due. AVOID OASIS BOATYARD AND MARINA BOATYARD IN ST AUGUSTINE.
