Reviews for Prime Marina East Greenwich
new marina owner. Poor dock service, 2017-05-22
Captain: , essex, CT (111)

Norton's is now now as Prime Marine, Inc.
They have installed and upgraded their docks which is nice.
However, the dock staff that I had to deal with, could not properly describe the location of the specific slip nor were they experienced at line handlying.

good support, 2016-09-26
Captain: , No. Berwick, ME (164)

The dockmaster stayed after hours to get us slips for the night

Very Friendly; I will return, 2016-06-09
Captain: , Croton-on-Hudson (14)

Very helpful staff, well-stocked marine store, upgraded bathrooms/showers for 2016. We had some minor work done by Ocenus Marine Group (on-site); Donald was very helpful and reasonable. Several waterfront restaurants close by; town is a little longer walk but well worth it. Slip was $2.00/ft +elec. (May 2016)

upgraded bathroom facilities, 2016-06-01
Captain: , East Greenwich (10)

For those considering a stay, the 2 main bathroom/showers were updated (very nicely done) for this (2016) season!

Great Place to Relax, 2015-10-14
Captain: , Mystic CT (130)

Have enjoyed Norton's for the past two summers. Very relaxed and very compentent. 1/2 the prce than normal for New England Great Yoga Studio in East Greenwich. Laughing Elephant - Tell Lori Keith sent you.

Ok for an overnight, 2015-09-16

No's at the yacht club.
Yard doesn't do engine, electrical or rigging. All those services are done either on site private contractors or local businesses. There is a Marine Store open M-F 8-5 Sat 9-5 , Sun 10-2
No laundry and the bathroom/showers aren't good at all.

Nice stop, easy access to town and Restaurants, 2014-08-05
Captain: , Mashpee, MA (541)

Yes place could use an upgrade of its facilities, restrooms and showers in particular but they were clean and functional. The ship's store at the marina is first class with a full range of marine supplies at good prices. Staff at the maina and in the store could not have been more helpful.
There are a number of restaurants all in short walking distance along the waterfront and range from upscale to pub atmospheres with good food. Town is a bit if a hike but worth the walk. Don't miss Jigger's Diner in the middle of town for a great breakfast or lunch.
The marina is very well protected from prevailing SW winds but would recommend requesting an inside slip to avoid wakes of passing boats.

Conflicted, 2014-06-29

I struggle rating this place. The staff is terrific. They know what they're doing and they do it with a smile. That said, the place needs a lot of work. The docks are way beyond ok. The bathrooms are hot, dirty, and old. And perhaps we arrived on a bad night - but we had to deal with very loud music till 4am! We stayed at the Brewers nearby a few nights before - and while Norton's staff are head and shoulders above - I'd choose Brewers ever time considering the facility and upkeep.

Enjoyed the Summer, 2014-02-12

After a horrible experience at a yard in FL I'm going back and rating some of the great marinas I've used over the last few years to support the good ones. Nortons is one of the better ones. Provided me fender boards when I arrived to help protect me on the outer dock. Always friendly and responsive staff. Well stocked store. Great pricing.

A nice stop for us, 2013-08-05
Captain: , Marthas Vineyard (506)

Friendly and accommodating people at this shipyard/marina which has good access to the village. Basic floating docks with posts are fine, restaurants nearby. Marina has most of the amenities -- elec, water, bathrooms, showers, some outside tables, good marine store. Quiet except the Amtrack train is very close and frequent, but no train whistle blows. Best of all, a price that fits easily into our budget!

Wonderful Stop, 2012-10-21
Captain: , Seattle, WA (445)

What a great find, we needed to have our sails repaired and didn't want to pay the Newport rates. Everyone at the marina (especially Diane, Jerry & Pat) were super helpful and went out of their way to help us. The Marine store was also well stocked and helpful. The docks are older but still well maintained. East Greenwich is a lovely town with all the basics. There is no washer/dryer at the marina so you have to go to town for that. Great riggin place right next door New England Yacht Riggin (Maggie & Charles).

A Bargain Marina, 2012-08-01
Captain: , Stuart, FL (1020)

We were asked to dock on the outside face dock, C Dock. It was Saturday and there was a lot of boat traffic. Coupled with a Northeast wind of about 10-15 kts. It was very rolly. Needed a fender board up against the pilings. Got pretty stormy and the launch driver very decently asked if he could tow our dinghy around to the launch dock out of harm's way.

The dockhands were very friendly and helpful. The docks are pretty old but they are "renewing" them a section at a time. At $1.50 per foot and metered electricity, it's a bargain. Close to town and other waterside restaurants. Ate dinner at The Grille and enjoyed it a lot.

We would definitely return, if we could get an inside slip. Would not stay on C Dock in any NE, East, or SE wind.

Best kept secret, 2012-07-21
Captain: , Orcas Island, WA (212)

This is a full-service marina with great people, good docks, great electricity, water service, ice. It's in walking distance of plenty of restaurants, a natural food store, and a laudromat.

The marina's chandlery is pretty well stocked, but the people working there are the real resources. It's nice to talk to people who know the products and the industry.

Friendly Staff and Great Location, 2011-11-05
Captain: , East Haddam, CT (315)

We stayed here for 3 months after searching far and wide for a marina in the area that would allow us to stay on a month to month basis (most marinas wanted to charge for a full season (6 months) or transient rate -$$$). The staff here was so accomodating, I can't recommend them highly enough. We are on a catamaran and they moved several moorings and boats around so that we could fit.
Bathrooms and showers are good, marina store is well stocked and fairly priced. Airport is also a short taxi ride.

Town is so close - walk to the historic village for coffee, restaurants, shopping, library, drug store, organic grocer, everything you need except a large grocery.
This will be our place to stay when we come back.

Good people, 2011-06-19

Helpful, knowledgeable staff

Good Marina, 2011-05-15
Captain: , Atlantic Coast (341)

Just arrived for the season this year . Very responsive, friendly and helpful staff. Store is very well stocked and prices pretty good. You will need fender boards if you are on the outside of C dock - likely spot for transients. C dock can get very bouncy with NE winds since it is open in that direction and due to the dock orientation. Taxi to airport cost me $20.

Great Spot!, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Rhode Island (40)

Norton's offers the best spot in Greenwich Cove. Near many great restaurants, andbeatiful vistas of the bay. Great sunrises and a constant paradeboat of boats for those who enjoy watching while having a cocktail on deck.

The staff is helpful and courteous and the transient rates are very reasonable.

Nice place, very close to town, 2009-09-15
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens (605)

This is a great marina for stop overs when it comes to picking up/dropping off guests from the airport. It is only a $15.00 taxi ride away. The town has plenty of resturants and the staff is very friendly. I gave it an average because the main dock has pilings that are proud of the dock and does require a long step to get onto the dock. This will be a regular stop for guests and airport runs.
