you will not regret staying here in any size boat. Wide, stable fixed docks, 5 star ammenities, short beautiful walk to town and a beach next door. Lots of Laundry machines and a great clubhouse to hang out in. Eric, the Harbormaster, will get you squared away.

Great Facilities, 2016-07-22

We spent three comfoprtable nights here waiting for winds to abate on Lake Michingan as we headed south from Petoskey. This marina is modern and well appointed with great facilities incorporating a boaters' lounge, heads and showers and large laundry. Staff are professional and friendly as are the seasonal resident boaters.
Being in Lake Charlevoix itself you need to allow 20 mins to get out of your slip to make the bridge opening. It is some distance from downtown but pleasantly walkable through streets lined with wonderful homes and gardens.

Stayed here two different times, on night each. Location is handy to Charlevoix, it you can't get a slip, this may do. About a mile from downtown. Long walk to restrooms and showers. Marina doesn't take advance reservations, only day of stay. Well protected and deep.

Excellent marina with wonderful facilities! I have docked here on and off for many years and have found it to always be well maintained with a friendly helpful staff. They have always found a slip for me when I called the day of my arrival. Northwest is conveniently located near Lake MI with a beautiful view of Lake Charlevoix. Downtown Charlevoix is within walking distance (about a mile). You will also find a beach, park, and restaurant only a block away from the marina.

i've been trying to get to sleep here for a week. each day they would tell me call back in the day I wanted to come in. I called from 730 to 8 AM but it wasn't open this morning. I got some at 8:01. they told me somebody had already reserved the only slip I could fit in. I asked how that could be because they told me they don't take reservations. he said somebody called and reserved it this morning. I don't believe they were telling me the truth.

Great Place to Tie Up, 2015-07-31

The city dock was filled and I found my way further in to Lake Charlevoix over to NW Marine. Great (and clean) facilities. Swimming pool. Grill area. 1 mile in to downtown (5 minute cab ride). Seemed ideal to have the boat away from the noise of downtown but an easy walk or cab ride there. The staff were friendly and helpful, grabbing my line as we came in, and providing recommendations on where to go for food and sightseeing. Next time, I'm skipping the city marina and headed right here. They don't take reservations, but found that if i called the day of my arrival, I could get squared away. See you next time NW!

Superb staff, clean facilities, short walk to town. Did I mention clean facilities!

We stopped here because no other slips at municipal and very rough weather on the Big Lake. They have very nice facilities, pool, clubhouse and laundry just a mile from the town. Great views of Lake Charlevoix. If you end up out on outer wall facing the lake it is a bit of a walk to use the facilities but overall very nice.

Docked Venetian weekend. Everyone very gracious. Facilities immaculate. One mile to downtown.

Northwest Marine, 2011-12-01

Went to Northwest because Charlevoix Municipal was full, and Admiral doesn't care to anchor out. Stationary docks fit our lifestyle. We were on the end of the dock so seemed like we were miles from the facilities. I had a good time talking with the sailboat racers and view of Lake Charlevoix from upper deck is fantastic. Transient dock prices seemed high $2.00/ft. or I'm just used to less expensive. Docks seemed narrow and with a dog between narrow docks and the long walk to get to the shore was not something I would do on a regular basis.
