Reviews for North Palm Beach Marina
Great Stay, 2016-09-24
Captain: , Brockport NY (60)

s/v Tropical Gale Winds
Jim and his staff are great, office staff, dock hands, whoever! Friendly and attentive. Free pump outs included with slip, we were there 10 days and scheduled two pump outs, no need to be aboard.
We originally stopped for what was planned to be 2 nights but health issues intervened. The complementary shuttle got us to the local health clinic and CVS. People couldn't be nicer. When it came to the shuttle drivers, Ed basically waited until my wife's appointment was over, partly because he realized she wasn't well. On the last day there, another shuttle driver Diane stopped when she saw us walking and inquired about how my wife was feeling. It was the first marina since leaving the Chesapeake that my wife felt she could stay here permanently. Nice location and nice people make the difference. Would definitely recommend. And at $1.70 per foot with BoatUS, not bad.

Great Marina, 2016-06-08
Captain: , San Diego, Ca (40)

M/V Happy spent a month here and we enjoyed our stay very much. Jim, Josh and Jen all contributed to our very good experience. Although we left before tropical storm Colin arrived, we felt this marina would be very safe in a serious blow. The new heads and showers are some of the best anywhere. We will always stop here when traveling in this part of Florida.

They strive for Five..., 2016-06-03
Captain: , Marathon, Florida (110)

and Jim, Josh & Jen work hard to make the experience deserve it! Reservations handled properly, radio instructions clear, assistance with lines, and bottle of wine were greatly appreciated. However, their third party vendor for wifi didn't return call for support until the following day and spent 20 minutes and couldn't resolve it (I gave up!). That and the 208v power (instead of 220v) keep me from the Five Star rating they strive to earn. We'll try again - as it is great location in well-maintained and protected basin.

Tops in facility and service, 2016-04-29
Captain: , Egg Harbor, NJ (80)

Jim, Josh and Jen are excellent gatekeepers for this marina, and their team responds as needed. Another BIG plus are Mike Bergen and Jay providing on site mechanical service (they are based in sister marina, Old Port Cove). Had various engine room work done on three different occasions during our lengthy stay, and well done every time.

nice stay spotty wifi, 2016-04-15
Captain: , Sheboygan, WI (70)

Nice new showers and bathrooms, great docks, wi-fi could be better them to me it would be 5 stars.

Great Marina with great people, 2016-04-13
Captain: , N . KINGSTOWN, RI (162)

I would just repeat what others have said. Stop here and enjoy..

Great spot to stop, 2016-04-09
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

We usually go to Old Port Cove when heading North. They were full so we tried here. We did not realize they were affiliated. A little coordination with booking between the two may add to business. We were never refered here by Old Port. A great find. Jim met us at the dock and was attentive throughout the docking and booking process. Definitely would come back.

Excellent Marina %u2013 Competent, friendly & resourceful staff, service is super, 2016-03-09
Captain: , Mystic, CT (190)

Came for a few days and stayed 3 months. The staff (Jim, Jen, Josh, Luis, Tristin) are quite competent, friendly and very helpful. Loved the turtle pond. Beautiful area. Easy access to the ICW and beyond, well protected. Newer and robust floating docks, cleats and pilings. Heads, showers and laundry are updated and clean. Grounds and facilities are very clean, maintained and well lighted. Trash receptacles at each slip as are pump-out connections. Takes a phone call and they are right there. Repair and maintenance services are abundantly available via site personnel or contractors and can accommodate you quickly should time be a factor. All it takes is a phone call to Jim N or Mike B to get the process going. The quality of the work we had done was outstanding and reasonably priced. Shuttle service will take you to area businesses for provisioning and even the beach(es) 7 days a week. The drivers (Ed, Diane and Maury) are very helpful, friendly and a pleasure to see. A very large West Marine store is located less than 1 mile and a nice walk or by shuttle. A NPB police boat is docked and operates out of this marina, so there%u2019s built in security. The marina has access the NPB country club Olympic sized pool two blocks away %u2013 we enjoyed the swim many days. When the opportunity presents itself, we will definitely be back. Wonderful experience.

Easy in and out from the ICW, 2016-02-24
Captain: , Amelia Island, FL (507)

We had planned on staying here one night but stayed three...not so much for the marina but due to a mal functioning chart plotter. The marina itself offers basic services with clean heads and showers, floating docks in very good condition, a small ship's store, and most significantly, a shuttle service during the day time. The dock where we were backed up to a sea wall and street with a motel across. There was no security that we could see. The dock hand who greeted us was fully competent and the office staff efficient. When I asked about a marine electrician to install a new chart plotter on short notice, the office was not particularly helpful. We did pick up a business card from Electronics Marine, LLC; owned by Chris Girardin (tel: 561-797-1827, email electronicsmarine24@gmail.com). Chris is not affiliated with the marina; just had a business card available. We contacted him and he came aboard the very next day (on a Saturday afternoon), got our chartplotter installed, and solved a couple other problems. Recognizing this is a marina review, not an electrician review, he was so helpful a plug is warranted. To the marina's credit, when we asked if we could extend our stay two nights they accommodated us with no problem.

Has everything we needed, 2016-01-14
Captain: , Racine, WI (515)

Easy in just off the ICW. Dock hand very helpful guiding us to slip and then tying up. Laundry facilities a little old, but work well. Quite night at the dock and easy off the next morning. Lots of mega yatchs made us feel pretty small at 45'.

Quiet Night, 2016-01-09
Captain: , Wilmington, De. (152)

We enjoyed our stop here - competent dock hand, pump out at slip, easy on and off the boat, nice neighborhood for walking the dog (and the humans). Friendly staff, fellow boat owners, and local residents. Easy on and off the ICW

Great marina, easy access, staff very helpful. , 2015-12-24
Captain: , Hampton (71)

Great docks, bathrooms were excellent, felt very safe , Thai restaurant within walking distance.

Nice stop for fuel, 2015-12-20
Captain: , Everett, WA (939)

We made a brief stop here to fill on diesel and found the dockhands proficient and efficient. It made for a speedy stop so that we could get back on the water with a minimal loss of time. Thanks!

great staff, 2015-12-09
Captain: , Lake City, MN (30)

Everyone here was fantastic. Arrived after hours and tied up near the entrance. Very calm and clean. I will definately stop here again.

Nice Marina with one of the BEST STAFFs on the East Coast, 2015-11-29
Captain: , annapolis (453)

Jim - Mgr, Josh - Dock Master and the rest are extremely nice and helpful. Spoke with Jim for reseravations, arrived and Josh
helped fuel then escorted me to the slip.

Visited 33 marinas during 2013/2014, this marina staff is as good or better than any.

Agree with other commets re showere, wahsers docks etc.

Overall very good value.

great stop, 2015-11-19
Captain: , St Louis (897)

We paid $1.70/ft for the catamaran slip (side tie, just inside the entrance). Dockmaster very friendly and helpful. Very nice bathrooms. Outdoor laundry is clever. Free shuttle was nice. Ate twice at the Thai restaurant.

Great stay in a great spot, 2015-08-19
Captain: , Charleston, SC (144)

Having spent two months here while doing boat upgrades and exploring, we couldn't ask for a better spot. The staff, Jim, Josh and Jenn and the rest of the dockhands were some of the best we've ever dealt with. Helpful and friendly at every turn, just ask and they are on it. Calm water with no current, many neccessities are very close and a free shuttle that works for tips is super. Drop your tender and explore the area by water, lots of places to play.

What more can we expect?, 2015-05-02
Captain: , CVDM Vaudreuil (10)

We needed a good rest and we found that marina to be exceptionnal. The staff welcomed us at the fuel dock, very courteous and helpful. They answered all our questions, they directed us very well, their Bathroom and showers are very clean, and the access to the marina for some friends that came to visit us was easy. What more could we ask for?

Great location and service, 2015-04-04
Captain: , Fort Pierce, FL (40)

This marina is absolutely tops in facilities, service and location. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. GM Jim Nester was a friendly knowledgeable source of info for the entire area. Docks are well maintained and the showers and restrooms were spotless. Access off the ICW is quick and easy, but it's very protected and quiet. We stayed here two nights on our way south and will definitely go back. Privileges at the Sandpiper restaurant at Old Port Cove Marina include fine dining and a great happy hour. Then there's the pool, tennis and golf across the street at North Palm Beach Country club. Shuttle service to the restauarant, Publix and West Marine was professional, prompt and courteous. You couldn't ask for more.

Great Service, 2015-03-21
Captain: , New York (70)

I appreciated the excellent service and the bathrooms/showers were the best I've had since leaving NY 6 months ago. very reasonable and made me feel that every cent was well spent. we'll be back!

lovely quiet marina, 2015-03-17
Captain: , Mystic, CT (40)

Lovely. Clean. Friendly. A perfect stop-over when running up/down the ICW. Josh was particularly helpful; in fact that could be said for all the staff.

FIRST MATE RATES SHOWERS BEST ANYWHERE!!!!, 2015-03-17
Captain: , staten island (511)

When i asked the lovely wife how would you rate north palm marina she instantly said"BEST SHOWERS ANYWHERE".
Well i have to agree , but we have only just arrived and my impression is this is a marina that put service at top of their list,Jim checked us in yesterday and even though it was hectic he took his time and answered all questions,I was told for maintence and mechanical issues to call Mike bergen, called Mike at9 am by 930 Mikes guy showed up for a washdown thats the way to make a 1st impression,is what Mike responded when i txtd him that i was happy my girl was getting a well deserved bath!!!
Thanks guys think we will be staying awile till its time to run home in a month or two

Best of the best, 2015-03-08
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (76)

WE were anchored in North Lake Worth and planning on moving south in the morning. Wife had a medical emergency early in morning which required getting her to hospital and a cardiologist. We selected NPBM as it was rated a first choice and was right around the corner. Called Jim (Harbormaster) on cell phone published at Active Captain. Reached him at home and he left immediately to meet us at the dock and drive us to the local cardiac hospital. We were in a hurry so dock lines were roughly tied but Jim, after leaving us off at the hospital, completed tying off for us.
These people couldn't have been more helpful and accomodating--from Jim to Jen in the office, to the maintenance guys that do the pump-out. All--first class, friendly and helpful.
Not ideally located for shore-side activities but a free shuttle will get you to the Publix and West Marine and a variety of shopping and restaurants that are just a bit too much of a walk but relatively close by.
Bathroom and showers are excellent. Outdoor laundry--OK. No pool. Long finger piers at the floating docks--easy in and out.
I would highly recommend this marina for a stop-over or longer. We actually extended our stay here rather than move on down into the bustle of the Ft Laud. area where we had originally planned to go. Well worth the treasonable price!!!

Try to deal with Jim, 2015-01-24
Captain: , Pungoteague, VA (272)

I'm giving them 5 stars even though our experience was less than perfect. We unfortunately arrived when Jim, the manager, was off. Not fun, but the trouble all started when someone else was in our assigned slip because he was at the wrong marina (!) which was not the marina's fault. But they did not recover gracefully.

But Jim is amazing, and Diane, who drives the shuttle for OPC and NPB in the afternoons is awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Tight but nice, 2015-01-21
Captain: , St. Lucie River (158)

Had a crosswind, so docking a little tight. No pool. greeat toilet/shower. Right on ICW. no rest, but thai rest 5 min walk. Called a number of pkaces in area for overnighter with no luck. This place: "no problem".

Nice Surprise, 2014-12-17
Captain: , Scottsdale (320)

This is an easy marina to get to if you are traveling on the ICW. The showers are some of the best we've seen. The washer and dryer are outside and have only one. It's a bit of a hike to the office, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. Jim Nester, the general manager, was willing to help in any way. This was a one-day stay, but we will return. There is a good Thai rest. within a short walk.

Very Nice, Helpful people, 2014-11-14
Captain: , Charleston SC (733)

We were looking for a lace to pick up friends from the area and drop them off again after dinner aboard the boat. The 1st choice Marina on the inside of Lake Worth turned us down even though I offered to pay for the service. This Marina, however went out of their way to accommodate us and only asked that we buy some fuel in exchange for the dock use. We needed fuel anyway so I readily agreed. It was an easy tie up right after the bridge. just be sure you are going up current and you will have no issues. Again, these folk were super-nice and helpful as well as alloing our friends to park their car for the evening in the secure marina lot. Good place to patronize I give them five stars even though we anchored instead of staying there.

Clean, modern marina, great staff, 2014-10-10
Captain: , Tarpon Springs (250)

Sheltered, modern facilities. Staff was extremely helpful with everything from basic services to providing recommendations for local dining and helping to find the appropriate marine technicians to address an electronics issue. Absolutely recommend this facility

Friendly "no current" marina in WPB, 2014-06-08
Captain: , Ft Lauderdale FL (271)

We had previously stayed at marinas south of the Flager M Bridge. Current rips through there. Backing into a slip is alike riding a bull: white knuckles and hang on to your hat!. NPB marina is far North enough from the inlet that the current is almost a non issue. As other reviewer pointed it out! The basin is surrounded by condos, so wind is almost completely blocked. Floating docks are in good shape. Fairways are on the wide side. Pedestals are sturdy and in good working order. Chris and crew are helpful and attentive as other reviewers have mentioned. (Came in after hours and gave me perfect directions to locate my slip). Thai restaurant is just convenient but very friendly. Boat US discount and ethanol free gas for the health of the dinghy. Not much more to ask for.....

Our best marina experience to date!, 2014-05-12
Captain: , Decatur AL (45)

We pulled in here as we had issue with our propane tank & needed electricity fast before everything in our fridge spoiled. New, floating wood/aluminum docks made docking easy coming in after hours, easy access water at the end of the finger pier, pump outs at each slip and more. Laundry, private showers/bathrooms and nice seating area in front of the laundry, which is open-air. The marina is well-protected from all winds. Chris and staff were friendly & accommodating. There is shuttle shared by this marina & its sister marina across the waterway, Old Port Cove. Ed, our driver, was a great mini-tour guide on the way to all our destinations. What a pleasant experience this has been! We will be back and highly recommend this marina.

Great Spot For Relaxing/Replenishing, 2014-05-03
Captain: , Perry, Kansas (317)

Dates of stay, 18 April - 24 April. Stopped here to meet another boat that we were heading to the Bahamas with, Stephanie in the office was very accomodating as were the rest of the marina staff. Shuttle to area stores was wonderful. Great area. Will stop again. Only 4 stars for lack of onsite-restaurant.

Perfect spot, 2014-04-29
Captain: , Islamorada, FL (42)

Stopped in here for a few nights and stayed 6 weeks. Gret Hurricane Hole.
very attentive and friendly staff. The facilities are kept very clean and neat. They have washers and dryers in two locations at very reasonable rates. Publix and West Marine are within walking distance along with many other stores and restaurants. We needed medical facilities and they also were near by for some and a short cab ride away for others. Chris and his staff do an excellent job and are always willing to help where needed. North Palm Beach is a pretty area and a great spot for walking. We highly recommmend this marina

A Great Place to Stopover, 2014-04-23
Captain: , Winter Garden, Fl (2173)

We came in prior to heading over to the Bahamas - they provided everything we needed...at a reasonable rate! They had laundry, nearby restaurants, a shuttle to the Publix 2 miles away, and plenty of 'free' water before heading east! Nice folks, competant dock hands and an efficient lady at the desk. Clean and well run place. They have floating docks with long finger piers allowing for a bow in placement on our 42' trawler.

Great stop, 2014-04-23
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

Great stop for us prior to heading to the Bahamas. Clean floating docks, staff is friendly and helpful, and they provide a shuttle to the grocery store. The Thai restaurant just up the hill is a "don't miss". Very well protected. We will be back.

Great Marina, 2014-04-22
Captain: , Miami, Florida (60)

I've always fueled up at this Marina and had the opportunity to stay four days and enjoy their great facilities and service.

Top Shelf Marina, 2014-02-19
Captain: , Greenwich Bay, RI (111)

Stayed here for 3 weeks in 2011. Was so impressed that we stayed for the entire 2012-13 winter season. Great staff and facilities. Been up and down the ICW 5 times...this is one of the best marinas.

Good hidey hole for a blow, 2014-01-04
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (476)

Great staff, super docks, wonderful wind protection from every direction. Good thing there's a Boat US discount, as the $20 a night "utilities" fee brings it up to $1.88 a foot.

A great stop, 2013-05-22
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (185)

2013 update: We stay here usually twice a year on our way south and then back north. Great staff, great piers, good rates, and very protected. They'll give you a pass to the North Palm Beach Country Club (http://npbcc.org/) so you have free access to a pool a couple of blocks away. As for restaurants, there are a few, SaBai Thai 2 being the closest (SaBai Thai 1 is in Boyton Beach - http://www.sabaithaiandsushirestaurant.com/). Excellent Thai food. We were happy to madk a stop on our way back north to dine there again. There is also a Mexican restaurant within walking distance.

Nice and well protected marina, 2013-04-01
Captain: , Palm Coast, Florida (785)

Stayed here for a night waiting for a favorable wind for a gulf stream crossing. Big floating docks and very nice facilities. The marina staff get this to a five star rating. Very friendly and quick to give a hand.

Good stop at the head of the ICW, 2013-03-19
Captain: , Yorktown, Virginia (391)

Good, clean restrooms, reasonably fast wifi, and clean marina. Very friendly staff. Fuel and dockage discounts for BoatUS members. Very well stocked West Marine a short walk away. Only gripe was that there was a $12/night charge tacked on to the bill for electic/water, even though I required neither. Did I mention the staff was super friendly?

Don't pass this one by.., 2013-03-14
Captain: , Vienna, VA (95)

An great marina with a superb staff... easy in and out, no tides or wind.

The staff does everthing possible to make your stay enjoyable! Wish there was a 6 star rating, this marina deserves it!

Also, for repairs or maintenance, highly suggest Tom Zelinsky at Marine Maintenance. We used him or several repairs and found him to be skilled, honest and does the job right! Phone 561-296-2904 for Tom...

Great Staff, 2013-03-05
Captain: , Key Largo (392)

This is the only place that we'll fuel up in Palm Beach County.. The dock staff are excellent and it is convenient in and out.

One of the best, 2013-02-20
Captain: , Kingsport, TN (470)

We stopped here to top off fuel, wqter, and gasoline, and were very impressed with the positive attude and service. Also, easy in and out with a floating pontoon fuel dock. Will definetly plan to stop again.

2013 Jan 28-31 Stay, 2013-02-04
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (640)

Great staff and facilities. Inexpensive (~$1.30/ft) with Boat US discount. Would be 5 stars except that marina uses BEACON Wi-Fi, an independent company, for their wifi. It did not work and staff told me I had to call them to get it fixed. It never did work. This is only negative. i've stayed at 3 marinas with Beacon wifi and have been disppointed with this service at all three marinas. If it worked I had to be redirected to internet explore or equal and give personal info I felt was not necessary, then create acct, then finally get on internet. Too hard in my mind.

A relaxing place to stay, 2013-01-29
Captain: , Pines Lake, NJ (401)

This marina is located just off the ICW before you enter Lake Worth. The fuel dock is very easy to access and the slips are easy to navigate. It is very protected from wind and current. We stayed there for 3 days and enjoyed the very friendly and helpful staff, clean rest rooms, showers and laundry. Boat US members get a good discount on all fees. The Publix store is quite a walk at the north end of Lake Worth but there is a 7-11 next door.

Glad we stopped, 2012-12-22
Captain: , Ocean Springs MS (1042)

Staff helpful. Bathrooms very clean. Boat US discount. Laundry. A good stop.

Cruiser Friendly, 2012-11-23
Captain: , Lake Worth, Florida (40)

The staff here support cruisers staying in the nereby anchorage (Old Port Cove). They allow cruisers to stop in and top off on water without charging or expecting you to fuel up or buy anything. Therefore everyone should support them by fueling and iceing uo prior to departing for the islands. Easy in/out, great friendly staff.

Good Place to Hunker Down, 2012-11-20

Hunkered down here for a while waiting for the Gulf Stream to calm down. Good facilitites right off the ICW. Jeremy was very helpful and price was reasonable. Great showers. BoatUS price ~$1.31/foot. 30 Amp $12. Washing machines $1.50, driers $1.00. Both operated well (better than they look). In a sailboat you're in the minority here.

Nice marina, 2012-03-28
Captain: , St. James, NC (253)

Stayed here for 4 days. Very nice floating docks, clean rest rooms and $1 washing machine and dryer. Great BoatUS discount but 50 amp power at $20/day was pricey. Tried the Ochna restaurant based on another review and thought is was not good at all.

Great knowledgeable dock hand for fuel dock and slip, could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable. Easy in and out to ICW.

Quick in and Out, 2012-01-22
Captain: , Winthrop, MA (896)

Just a quick overnighter. Staff very friendly and heloful. We spent the night on the fuel dock. Some rocking with the passing boats. But because of the location near the Parker Draw bridge, the rocking was minimal. Our Friends were on the floating docks further in and they had no problems.
Nice showers, clean and hot enough water.

Quiet Spot, 2012-01-05
Captain: , City Island New York (600)

Good floating docks, nice big slips (mostly big boats here) Showers OK, laundry in open, rusty and leaky but worked fine @ $1 each you cant complain. This is one long strip of slips surrounded by condos, no lounge but it gets 4 stars for the 25% discount for BoatUS! Be sure to go to the Vietnamese restaurant, OCHNA, which is delicious and just 3 minutes walk away. There is a 7-11 close but that's about it. The staff tend to leave you alone which was fine with us. At this price we'll be back!

One of our favorites, 2011-12-25
Captain: , Michigan (583)

We have not stopped since 2006 and it was nice to see it was still just as convenient and accomodating as before. Clean facilities, outside laundry, and pretty quiet considering the number of boats (mostly sport fish) that are here - not sure I would want to be here during a fishing tournament though! :-) New West Marine is now open about a mile north near Carrabbas.

Great Stop, Immaculate Condition, 2011-04-30
Captain: , Green Cove Springs FL (1380)

Spent 3 nights here. Upscale, very clean and organized. Dock hand "Josh" very helpful and professional on docks. Near Most everything you would want.Major Shopping areas Big Malls within easy bike ride. West Marine opening a new store close by. Great floating docks. $1.75/ft less 25% Boat U.S. Discount. 50 Amp power a little pricy at $20/night but presented as including Cable, T.V., Wi-FI and numerous other normally standard stuff. Just around the corner from North Anchorage Lake Worth 1.4 miles.
just before Parker Bridge going North turn to Port. Enjoyed our Stay. Capt Helen and Chief Engr Bob M/Y ALLEZ!

Very nice facilities with easy approach. Plus, it is very near the Palm Beach/Lake Worth Inlet making it an excellent starting point going to the Bahamas.

This is a very nice, clean, no frills marina. Price is reasonable for transients. People are friendly. We had a very pleasant stay here!
