Reviews for North Causeway Marine
Great Little Marina, 2013-12-15
Captain: , Sydney, Australia (10)

The guy below me has no idea what he's talking about. After visiting the marina today I am throughly happy with the service I recieved. I have a 68 foot Hatterus and came into the marina with ease. I didn't run aground on my departure either. After speaking with the dockhands, I asked them about the review below me, he received 1/2 gallon of diesel after confusion from the phone. Yes it was a mistake and they resolved it by PUMPING his gas tank dry and then filling it back up for him for FREE. He was told by there mechanic that the small amount of diesel would cause noo damage, but he insisted it be resolved. After puming the fuel tank back up again with free fuel the sail boat captain went about putting "Marvel Mystery Oil" into the gas. Which if any of you know, has the same consistancy of diesel fual and is basically the same stuff.

I have been to numerous big marinas and North Causeway Marine is a great marina. Great place and people.

Worst Marina Experience of My Life, 2013-12-13

1. They do not use a VHF radio, so if you are travelling outside of your home country it will be quite expensive to call the marina... servicing boats... which use radios.

2. Upon speaking to their phone operator and recieving navigaitional directions around "Pelican Island" we immediately ran aground. The girl on the phone told us to go on the wrong side of their PVC pipe marker. NOTE: Stay far to the east of the pipe if you dare enter.

3. Make sure you specify and check which type of fuel the dockhands are pumping into your boat. Upon asking twice for gasoline and presenting 4 red gasoline 5-gallon containers on the dock, they proceeded to pump approximately 2 gallons of diesel into my 20 gallon gasoline tank (Atomic-4). They tried to blame it on me.

4. Last but not least, upon departure following the marina assistant's navigational directions we once again ran aground. They sent the same rookie who pumped diesel into our boat to tow us off. We declinded and waited for a professional tower.

Overall Impression... Don't go here. Provision properly for fuel so you don't have to stop. And if you do; anchor, dinghy in, and pump your own fuel.

Diesel fuel available by truck, but call ahead., 2010-10-25
Captain: , Delray Beach, FL (327)

Just stopped for fuel. Only game in town if coming from the south. Very busy small boat marina. Nice, accomodating folks, but call ahead to coordinate diesel and get a talk in for deeper draft vessels. We carried 8' to the fuel dock approaching from the north.
