Reviews for Norrie Point Marina
Very basic marina but friendly staff and very reasonable, 2017-06-08
Captain: , Duluth, MN (11)

For the price (1.25 per foot for transient), this is a great little find. The entry way is a little hard to see as there are two very small poles (one red, one green) indicating the entry. The staff was very accommodating and full of good information.

Quiet scenic spot, reasonable cost, 2016-08-21
Captain: , North East, MD (385)

On the edge of a state park so no services nearby. A good restaurant is in the tiny town over a mile away. The Hudson River surroundings are very scenic. Historic Mills (Staatsburg) Mansion is just north of Staatsburg. A nice biking state park with some hills.

great park!, 2016-05-21
Captain: , Fort Myers (700)

if you have bikes, you can really enjoy this park. The Mills mansion, the roadways and the wooded trails are excellent. The golf course can offer you a cart, clubs and 9 holes for 50 bucks - for two to play. (18 hole course). there is a bar restaurant at the club house, and a high end Italian restaurant in Staatsburgh. You'll have to taxi to Vanderbilt or Roosevelt mansions as route 9 looked too busy for bike comfort for us. Hyde park is not worth planning on. Heard Rhinebeck is excellent town. we came in at mid tide, 8 or 9 ft depth. Didn't churn any mud with our 4.5ft draft. Nice docks, no real wakes at end of T.

Great stop over, 2015-09-23
Captain: , Norwalk, CT (82)

Now you know, bring all your food, nothing around. Clean, brand new docks, great staff... cannot beat the price. Second time this year, will be here next year.

We love this place, 2015-09-08
Captain: , Bay City, MI (730)

People are helpful and friendly. Not the best access to showers and bathrooms, but it is reasonably priced, easy to get in and a great stop. Plenty of room to walk the dogs and the people that work there love dogs! Bingo!

great quiet spot lots of hiking, well protected, 2014-09-08
Captain: , West shore Marlboro NY (825)

spent part of labor day weekend here. nice somewhat protected marina. lots of sail boats and powerboats saw some big one 40+ in here no services wifi or food close by so whatever you bring thats what you eat/BBQ some great picnic spots close to marina
cant beat the price 1.50 a foot plus electric
brand new state docks and ramp.. marina dredged after Sandy
bathrooms clean, showers could use some help lots of hiking trails, kayaking camping and cabins in the park
staff very helpful there 8am-8pm?

Perfect for the smaller to medium sized cruiser, 2014-07-11
Captain: , Everett, Washington (824)

We stayed here one night in mid-July. The approach is straight forward and the entrance is marked by two PVC pipes with red and green. It is a narrow entrance and the fairways are perfectly adequate for the cruiser that is mid-30's feet length or less. Docked on the end of the T-head. Marina has many boats in the mid-20's and less feet. Thunderstorms roared in from the SW and the harbor was well protected. Would stay again.

A Haven for Nature Lovers, 2014-06-24
Captain: , Englewood, FL (905)

Nice protected harbor, new floating docks, friendly & helpful staff, quiet, and a network of hiking trails begin at the marina. We saw a eagle, multiple deer, and 2 bushy foxes. As long as you don't need restaurants, laundry, or stores, this place is a gem.

Nice for an overnight stay, 2014-06-15
Captain: , St Petersburg, FL (277)

Price is now $1.25/ft, but still is a bargain for the area. Very nice floating docks, beautiful natural surroundings, extremely quiet after all the local (and very friendly) boaters have left for the day. Great for a one night stay; however, lack of wi-fi and on-site laundry, and distance from restaurants and provisioning makes it less desirable for longer stays.

New and well kept slips...great for trailer sailers!!!, 2014-06-02
Captain: , Patterson NY (60)

Great place for us! We launch our sailboat, keep our boat trailer in their trailer parking lot for free and pay by the week for the slip...which is very reasonable. I live an hour away from here but it's worth the drive as this part of the hudson is very scenic and has decent wind too. The docks are new and they have 30 amp, 20amp for a basic lawn and garden extension cords and water for every slip. Sail or motor up the river past a historic lighthouse to Kingston and see another historic lighthouse at the entrance to rondout creek. Motor up the creek for restaurants and shops...we paid $5 at the public docks but you can find free docakage if you eat at a restaurant that has docks. I spent the night on my boat and had a great evening...the docks are well lit at night and pretty too. Also, we just paid for another week for the slip.

great overnight stop, 2013-08-17
Captain: , Fairfield Harbour, NC (50)

We had a great stop. Helpful staff and friendly local boaters. Lots of opportunity to hike on maintained trails or bike to the Mills Mansion in town. Only one restaurant in town 3 miles away so plan to eat on the boat. New floating docks were great. Toilets were clean but only one shower that is not often used.

unknown hideaway, 2013-07-06
Captain: , Knapps Narrows Md (450)

There are new floating docks with power and water. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We spent a night here waiting for the canals to open. At $1/ft I would spend more time here if we needed to slow down in the future. There are hiking trails as part of the state park and a golf course but I don't know how you would get there. The only problem is that it is remote with no shopping or restaurants nearby.

Hidden secret, 2013-06-10
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

Before this year, this was an old dock and state park that catered mostly to the local small boat public. But they have just replaced their old docks with state of the art new floating docks and they can accomadte any boat up to 50 ft. We stayed on the T-head and were the first boat to stay here.

The dockmaster was very friendly and helpful, along with all the locals who were on their boats for the weekend. At a $1 a ft., plus $5 for electricity, you cannot beat this place for a nice overnight.

The bathrooms are typical state park facilities on shore, but they are very clean. There are hiking trails throughout the park, plus you can rent a kayak at the center next door to explore the waters of the Hudson. All in all, a good stop for the Looper.

Gorgeous Marina on Hudson, 2013-06-08
Captain: , Treasure Island, FL (10)

Mills Norrie State Park was a beautiful stop w/new floating docks. The staff were very friendly. $1 p.f.

Brand new floating docks, 2013-05-31
Captain: , Naples, FL (1096)

Ended up staying three nights May 28-31. Depth 7 feet low tide. Room for boat up to 50 ft. Enterprise from Poughkeepsie will pick you up. Good laundry in Hyde Park, self or will do it for you. Caught the first tour of the day at FDR and Vanderbilt 9:30 and 9:00 and group was small. Rheinbeek town is worth a visit. Locals say they have the best restaurants. Call CIA for reservations and they will let you know what is available that day. Cannot recommend American Bounty though. Try Bocuse instead.

Just what we needed, 2012-07-08
Captain: , Oneida, TN (415)

Stayed 2 nights while waiting for a front to pass. A buck a foot is hard to find in this neck of the woods. Attentive dockmaster. They put us in an unoccupied seasonal slip. Very accommodating folks. Locals very pleasant, too.

Nce Place to stay overnight, 2012-05-27
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (4176)

This is your basic marina. $1 ft is not found these days. Part of the NY State Parks system, we stayed with our 41 ft trawler on the pump out dock, a large floating dock. We turned around so our bow was facing the river in case of any tug-tow wakes. The people here are very nice. No stores nearby. Closest store is 2 miles, too long for us to walk. Only charged $5 for electricity (2 -30amp), $7 for pump out DOG FRIENDLY , but of course you must clean up. For $50 we had a nice chance to ride out a storm and run the air conditioner and top off the water tanks.
Bathrooms and showers not as clean as I would like but passable.

All the Basics at Good Price, 2011-07-15
Captain: , Wickford, RI (550)

Quiet, peaceful, all the basics well done for a dollar a foot. Get a spot bow-to the river and there is very little rolling. We spent the night at the fuel dock and were comfortable. Sort of the anti-metro marina, a pleasure.

Cheap place to launch, even @ low tide, 2011-07-05
Captain: , Danbury (40)

We Camped at Norrie state park over the 4th of july holiday and launched on the river here. $6/day ramp fee (even for out of state). Other places were ~$20 and could only launch at high tide. Staff is very helpful. I was given a price of $1/ft overnight. we just hauled out since we trailered in anyways.

Norrie Point Marina on the Hudson, 2010-09-26
Captain: , Williamsburg, VA (745)

We have stayed here several times over the years. Both June and August this year. They are very friendly and helpful and the price is right. The restrooms are clean. We did not use the showers. Good pump out. It's a very long walk to convience store. Our grandson, a student at the CIA, picked us up to tour and eat there. The CIA is not to be missed. The food is exceptional. Watching these kids learn to become chefs is a real treat. Rent a car if you must but, don't miss the CIA. The Vanderbilt and Roosevelt mansions are here as well. The rich really new how to live.

Norrie Point, 2009-07-13
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

Nice stop. Good price ($1/ft $5 elec). Passing boats do send wakes into the marina.

Limited access to stores unless you get rental car.

Quiet and friendly, 2009-06-22
Captain: , Lewes, DE (2521)

This marina is part of the Norrie Point State Park and situated in a small cove that gives greta wind protection and minimal wave action. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We stayed for five days and rented a car (Enterprise out of Poughkeepsie will pick you up) to see all the sights. Had a great time and will surely go back.
