Wouldn't come back, 2016-07-07
Captain: , montauk ny (150)

We stopped here at the request of a service worker that was to do some minor work on our boat. The 2 stars is mainly due to a disagreeable dockmaster who was very arrogant. We had to move two times, had no internet and (dispite advertising on their website) had no cable. TERRIBLE water pressure. Would not come back which is too bad as we did bike into Noank and Groton-Long Point which was lovely.

Friendly, accessible, and hospitable!, 2016-05-31
Captain: , City Island NY (20)

After a 12 hour day sail, we docked up for the night in a transient slip at Noank. Tired and hungered for some local flavor, we met an extremely nice dock hand who not only helped us tie up but offered us a ride to the local grocer to stock up on provisions. He also recommended a few restaurants. We settled on Ford's Lobster for some delectible seafare. The marina is extremely well-kempt and the neighboring boat owners', friendly and welcoming. The channel getting in was a bit of a challenge for novices but evenso we had no issues. They also offer fueling and other amenities which is quite convenient.

Much more a shipyard than a typical marina, 2016-05-05
Captain: , The World (30)

Lacks the quality of amenities normally associated with the price level for transient docking. The women's restroom is clean enough, but rather shabby, and shy on paper towels. It is marginally heated, but the showers work well and there is plenty of hot water. The laundry room needs deep cleaning from floor to ceiling. I didn't want to touch anything. Folks are friendly, though, and the town is adorable, well worthy of walking through.

Good Place to Tie Up, 2015-08-05
Captain: , Croton on Hudson, NY (93)

We stayed here on a Saturday night in July. Reasonbly priced with everything you could need except a ship's store. Abbot's Lobster Shack next door is excellent. They do tie transients to the fuel dock, which is right next to the channel and unprotected by any seawall. Occasional wakes, but not a big deal on the night we were their. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Bad floating dock design, 2015-06-30
Captain: , Noank (60)

The floating dock at the gas dock is too low. When there on a windy and choppy day, the fender ride up above the dock and the boat rubs aginst the rub rail, which is hard black plastic. This left a black scratch in my white gelcoat. When complaining about this to the dock master, he said (arrogantly) that it happens to all the boats on windy days, like that was normal and should be accepted. No apologies or offer to buff up the scratch. And very unfriendly to boot. My first and last time there. I usually go to Ford's to fuel up but they were closed that day.

Stopped there again on 6/29/15 and the dockmaster is still obnoxious. Killed the whole experience. And they won't let you fill up with water if you don't have your own hose.

Easy in/out, 2015-05-18
Captain: , City Island, NY (120)

Stopped here briefly to top up fuel and water on May 13, 2015. Short, well-marked channel leads directly to easily accessible dock. Friendly service.

Easy Fuel Stop, 2014-09-02
Captain: , Galesville, MD (1341)

We came in for fuel, water and ice Labor Day 2014. Diesel was $4.16/gal with a 10c discount/gal for Boat US or SeaTow. Friendly, capable dock hand. Easy, large face dock right off the well-marked channel. Diesel pump is on the southern side of the dock house. Water right there too.

Great Fuel Stop, 2013-10-31
Captain: , Mt. Sinai, NY (253)

Good fuel prices! 1st Marina you come to as you head up the Mystic River. Be sure to set some extra fenders out, passing boat traffic can rock the fuel dock a little. Great seafood shack at the marina - don't miss lunch when you are done fueling the boat up.

Great Marina/Great Village, 2013-09-01
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

We really enjoyed this marina and quaint New England village. Noank is an easy walk to a very nice market, a bakery, and restaurants. Plus there are two lobster shacks right at the marina. Terrific.

The docks are new concrete floating docks after the repairs from Sandy. The bathrooms are spotless. Add to that the very helpful and friendly dockhands, and you have a formula for a very nice stop. Mystic is a cab ride or dinghy ride up the river. Perfect.

Great Place to Stop, 2013-08-19
Captain: , Philadelphia, Pa. (201)

Very friendly staff. They accept all major credit cards & cash. Slips are; 1st night is $3.00 per ft and $2.25 per ft each addition night thereafter. Moorings are $50.00 and that includes the launch service. We wanted to go to Mystic Seaport so they arraigned a cab for us. Three good restaurants within walking distance plus grocer & package store. We will definitely be stopping here again.

Dock Hand wouldn't let me get water, 2013-03-22
Captain: , Palm Coast, Florida (785)

July 2012 stopped to get fuel, ice and water - dock hand not around on approach and it was a windy day. I got my fuel, ice and water. Two days later when I stopped for ice and water (didn't need fuel) one of the dock hands sold me the ice then said the water was for dock holders only.

Favorate Fuel Stop, 2012-12-14
Captain: , Newport RI (247)

Nice floating Docks, high speed fuel pump, no cost pump out, potable water, dock hands are always friendly, fuel discount card. They even carry over the amount of fuel purchased year to year which allows you to reach higher fuel discounts without starting over each year. This by far is my favorite fuel stop. If they are not super bussy they will even allow you to wash down! Find me another fuel stop that will allow that! I find most will not even allow you to take on water.

Noank Shipyard, 2012-09-17
Captain: , Toronto (280)

A one night stopover on our way home to Toronto - excellent facility and we watched a parade of beautiful yachts heading out the next morning to a race. Easy walk to a famour lobster place just n/w of the yard - lobster ovens date back to 1940 in the same location!

Service Over Charge, 2012-09-09
Captain: , Hilton Head (130)

This is a nice place full of nice folks but I feel a need to report an issue I had with their service dept. I have only written one negative report out of all my submissions but I think the community needs to know when a yard's policies are inconsistent with normal standards. I went to the yard because of a need to replace a starter motor on one of my NL 20KW Gen Sets. I was charged $1,793.00 for the motor plus installation and misc charges. I thought the price for the starter was startlying so I called NL Seattle and was told that it would be discounted at $1,280.00 I subsequently went on line and found it for $1,565.00. I then approached the yard saying that a 40% markup on this type of part was excessive and was told they would not reconsider the issue. Next time I will find another yard.

Excellent Service, 2012-08-04
Captain: , Noank, CT (128)

The folks at the gas dock are friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge. There is also some dockage available to have dinner at Costellos.

Great Location & Staff, 2011-07-28
Captain: , Mystic,CT (85)

Beautiful facility at the mouth of the picturesque Mytic River. Great concrete floating docks. The staff is friendly & helpful - especially Dockmaster Joe Pickens. What isn't at the marina is close by.

Great location, 2011-06-12
Captain: , Southport, NC (80)

Costello's is a good place to grab a bite to eat (onsite) but Abbott's Lobster in the Rough is one of the best places to eat in CT. The scenery is incredible and the food is even better!

Great service., 2007-09-10
Captain: , Groton, CT (3)

Friendly, helpful service to all comers. Everything but a marine store, bar and a swimming pool. Marine store, grocery store, and bar within convenient walking distance.
