Reviews for Nightingale Motel and Marina
We loved it!, 2016-07-15
Captain: , Sea Cliff, NY (1022)

We love to spend our time and money where we feel welcomed. This is one of those places. We had guests aboard for a trip up the Potomac to DC, and this was a great 1/2 way stopping point. We needed a place that also had rooms available on shore, and this fit the bill perfectly. Staying nearer the eastern shore, we had no less than 6 feet of water all the way to the dock at mid-tide.

We used the T-head at the end of the pier- easy-peasy docking. Strong electric. The guest room at the small 6-room motel was great- comfortable bed and super clean. The owner, Jan, was very kind to us and was attentive to everything.

We will return here every time we visit Colonial Beach. This was a terrific find.

Grandma's backyard..., 2013-03-11

We stay here everytime we visit CB. Jan and Bob, the owners, are alsways accomodating. The docks are old and I usually get a splinter, but the facilities are always clean and neat.

The backyard of Jan and Bob's house is a well manicured grassy area and a grilling area. The grills are clean and plentiful. It always reminds me of my grandma's backyard!

They don't accept reservations and don't monitor the radio. You just pull up and take a spot out on the end of the docks. we usually call ahead and let Jan know if we have a big group coming.

Nice place to visit, 2012-09-25
Captain: , Stafford, VA (1063)

Serviceable docks and friendly owners. Close in location to town, so it's an easy walk to the restaurants & shops. This is the place to stay if you don't have bikes or don't want to ride from Col. Beach Yacht Center.

Quaint, Quiet, Friendly, 2011-04-07
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

The owner's home is at the head of the dock along with a 6 unit motel. Close to town, great restaurant next door (The Lighthouse - wonderful cream of crab soup and crab cakes), bikes, quiet, clean showers, friendly atmosphere. We called, they said, We will not be there, tie up and we'lll get with you later. Only negatives: not all electrical outlets powered (to be fixed), 30 amp plugs, only 5' water at low tide, and owner would not accept my suggestion that his 1958 Corvette should be the courtesy car. If you want high class/fancy, this is not your place. We enjoyed our stay. $1/foot plus $10 electrical.
