Reviews for Newport Maritime Center
great to have this in town, 2016-07-31
Captain: , Sodus Bay, New York (220)

This is a great facility for those moored in the harbor. lots of table to sit and relax. clan facilities, head , showers (coin operated) and laundry. even a tv if you are inclined to catch up. thanks to all for providing this!

Disappointing showers, 2016-07-07
Captain: , Amelia Island (140)

We hit the showers at the NMC around 3 p.m. after a pleasant walk around Bellevue and the Cliff Walk. There was poor water pressure (water pretty much dribbled straight down from the shower head) and it took about 4 minutes before the water warmed up to luke-warm. Maybe the water temperature problem would have been better at a busier time of day, but then the pressure might have been even less.

What a great place., 2015-10-07
Captain: , Boonton (75)

It is a simple and excellent service to us the transients.
The Harbor Master roll is very helpful and I enjoy dealing with him to help maintain order in the mooring field.
Thank you.

superior service, 2015-09-29
Captain: , Panama City, FL (574)

Extremely helpful in a very busy port. Spotless facilities. Easy access to town. Couldn't have been kinder. Thanks again for the water!

I'm Proud !, 2014-10-02
Captain: , East Greenwich RI (504)

I live here and have always been slightly ermbarased about hoe poorly Newport provided services for transients-as compaired to Annapolis or Charlston. Now we can say we have a friendly welcoming harbor. Anchoring is still a little limited but it is do-able.

New in 2012 Maritime Center for visiting Yachts, 2013-07-22

One of the best shore facilities we've ever used, 2013-07-09
Captain: , Annapolis, md (20)

Very clean, modern, well staffed. Built in the basement of the historic armory building. They did a great job of updating this space. Open, light and airy. Plenty of room to spread out. Showers are $1.75 for 7 minutes.

Newport welcomes its transient maritime visitors, 2013-07-01
Captain: , Wickford RI (70)

The Newport Maritime Center opened in 2012 to cater to the needs of transient boaters. It's not fancy, but it's well-maintained, and has all the essentials: showers, bathrooms, public wifi, laundry facilities, dinghy docks, ice, and so forth. It's located on the ground floor of the old Armory building on Lower Thames, adjacent the Ann Street pier.

Dinghy Dock Update, 2012-09-19
Captain: , Atlantic City, NJ (10)

As of 08/2012 there is no charge for using the dinghy dock. It is watched by city employees and they will not allow the dinghy to be locked to the dock.
