Reviews for Newport Marina and RV Park
Nice place and people, 2016-08-25
Captain: , Portland, OR (32)

Spent 8/19/16 and 8/20/16 here on my way north. Limiited space availability for larger boats. Was assigned an end-tie which worked well but only had 30A service. I found the docks to be functional, but showing signs of advancing age. Fishing and crabbing are the dominant activites for the recreational boaters here. Very friendly staff and tenants. This is a great place to spend some lay days as there is quite a bit to explore and experience in the area.

Great Stopover or Destination, 2016-05-21
Captain: , Seattle (212)

Newport is a great place to spend some time, and the marina is excellent. There's plenty of space, at least in May. The staff are friendly and helpful. The docks are in excellent condition, and the uplands all look new. There's quite a bit to do right around the marina, including the Rogue Distillery restaurant, bar and tour, the Oregon Coast Acquarium and several beach and pier walks. A walk across the 101 bridge into town takes about 40 minutes and is worth it just for the views from the bridge. Newport's Bayshore district is full of reasonably-priced restaurants with superb food.

We needed a slip for our Cal 36 and we got a very good one. They gave us a list of about 7 or 8 to look at and we found one very convenient for us.

This is the side of the bay with the ramp so it's where all the fishermen and other trailer boats come to launch and take out. On weekends of open fishing for halibut or salmon, it is packed. Boats everywhere in the marina are launching and firing up engines well before dawn.

On week days or non-special fishing season weekends it is very quiet. The facilities are excellent. There are public restrooms and key-lock restrooms and shower facilities. It is a very large marina and RV park but it is well maintained and clean.

Port of Newport Marina, 2014-07-28
Captain: , Newport Beach, CA (420)

Spent 5 weeks here while transiting the coast headed south. Transient dock is a ways away from the office. No diesel at the nearby fuel dock. There's another fuel dock on the north side of the channel by the fisherman's marine. Has wifi, but it's spotty. Transient dock has a max 14 day stay. Regular slips have 30 amp power. Only the end slips have 50 amp 125/250v.

Another great place, 2013-10-21

At first it seems hard to get into the marina. A few signs would be nice. Great fuel dock and fantastic people. Recommend stopping here. Inlet a little tricky with southerly swells.

Nice Marina, 2012-02-29
Captain: , Portland, Or (116)

Nice functional marina. Docks in good condition with fuel, pump-out, ice and brewpub nearby. Facilities are clean. The location outside of town is not ideal, but bus transportation is available. Mooring fees include water and electrical power, but don't include the showers which are coin operated.

Good refuge, 2002, 2008-08-21

Big Marina, lots of slips but a fair way out of town, pub/restaurant within walking distance fuel close by, get bar report before entering as it can be closed, friendly staff.
