Reviews for Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina
Great staff, great marina, 2015-07-19
Captain: , Mount Sinai, NY (41)

Newport has always been one of our favorite destinations and the Newport Hotel and Marina, marina is a big part of what keeps us coming back. We made our reservations several months before our stay and everything was as promised.
The docklands, Chris and Jacob were spot on in their assisting our docking. They listened to us in how we wanted the lines to be handled and made the process effortless. Dockhands who are capable and most importantly who listen is very rare today among the marinas that we visit.
Heather, the newly appointed Dockmaster could not have been more accommodating during our stay and it is quite evident by here professionalism why she got the position.
Please don't change a thing in what you are doing. With the extreme demand that you have from yachts large and small, you make each of us feel important and that you value our business...thank you...

I've stayed here many years as a seasonal as well as a transient - Mark and his crew were always top notch.....they recently added an outdoor tiki bar as well....It will be interesting to see what changes (if any) the new dockmater makes.

Gotta Love Newport, 2013-07-08
Captain: , Island Heights (310)

Just love coming here. The location can't be beat. Staff is terrific. RAtes are high, but fair for what you get. Showers and heads are getting a bit tired as is the wooden floating docks.!!!

Top Notch Facility, 2013-02-19
Captain: , Milford, CT (50)

We stay here multiple times per year and we have only good things to say about this marina. Staying here gives you access to the hotel amenities such as the pool. The docks are in excellent condition. The price is fair. However, most importantly, the location is incredibly. Less than a 5 minute walk to many of the best bars and restaurants in the area.

Excellent Marina, Great Location and Dry Heat, 2012-11-14
Captain: , Pilots Point (466)

Have docked there four times, both power and sail. It's an excellent facility all around, very helpful dock staff, and the location is a big plus...puts you in the center of the Newport action without needing a dinghy or Oldport Marine to get you home at night.

Especially appreciate the laundry and bathroom facilities devoted to the boaters and adjacent to the docks. Also, it's nice to get off the boat and jump into their pool or sauna.

One trip I went sightseeing for the day and left the portholes open. It rained all afternoon and when I came back there wasn't a dry cushion down below. All the settees and berths were soaked. Even the wooden boards beneath the cushions were damp. So i carried the whole wet mess (took four trips) right into the sauna and set it on nuclear. It looked like a cushion-convention in there. I returned in 20 minutes to find everything dry as a bone. Dry heat saved the day...what a great marina!

Great Spot to Stay , 2012-07-15
Captain: , Midland Ontario (660)

Step off the boat and you're an easy walk from everything downtown. An added perk is that if you rent a car, you can park it I the hotel parking lot with in/ out privileges ($15 day/ $25/day on weekends).
We love the town, the great restaurants and attractions. This is our second visit and the marina staff and services are consistently good.

Comfortable and close, 2012-03-09
Captain: , Pawtuxet Cove, RI (272)

Great marina right in the heart of town. Easy walk to just about everything and as with most places the grocery store is at the top of the hill. A bit loud on weekends but one of our favorites.

Excellent Marina, 2012-01-18
Captain: , Apponaug, Rhode Island (274)

Have been a guest at most of the Newport Marina's and this one is the one we like the best. The location is excellent, the staff are professional and helpful and the facility continues to be invested in. They also have a pool and showers that marina guests can use.

If they have room, they will allow you to tie up for four hours for around $1.00 per foot. Check with the marina for current pricing. This option is great when you want to spend a few hours walking around Newport but don't plan to spend the night.

My favorite in Newport, 2011-04-14
Captain: , New Smyrna Beach, FL (143)

I've stayed here a few times over the years, most recently Aug 2010 for the jazz festival, and it's a short walk to the water taxis that get you to/from the festival. The staff is helpful and professional. If you have kids, they have an indoor pool, a salvation if it rains.

Great place, 2011-02-02
Captain: , New York (187)

Very good staff. Puts you right in the middle of town, walk to alot.

Crowded, but very nice, 2009-05-14
Captain: , New York, NY (470)

Even on a weekday in early May, the marina was crowded. As a novice sailor I was a little nervous manuevering in the tight spaces, but all worked out fine. The dockmaster was very friendly and helpful and gave us a great pre-season rate. Lots of places to eat only steps away.

Newports Best , 2007-07-12
Captain: , Sag Harbor, NY (607)

Best location in town, walk to everything. New floating docks and good shower and laundry facilities. Busy on weekends but space is usually available weekdays. Staff is halpful, but can be difficult to get on VHF 9. Rates are pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Center of town, 2007-02-02
Captain: , Stratford, CT (146)

A great location if you want to be in the middle of the action on Thames Street. A well run, family owned operation that welcomes boats of any size, but handles some huge yachts too.

Wonderful Facility. Fabulous staff, clean, great location. They do pack em in tight during the summer months though.
