Reviews for New England Boatworks
Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here, 2016-05-24
Captain: , New York (185)

A $50,000 insurance repair took five months to complete - even the insurance adjuster was appallled at the delays. Meanwhile, gear was stolen from the boat, there was damage to topside paint while launching, and there were mysterious red wine stains on the interior carpets. NEB management only occasionally returned phone calls, and would not lend me a ladder to board my own boat in the yard even though they own an inventory of ladders, so I had to buy my own ladder. It was an un-neighborly experience.

Great Service, Great Marina, 2015-03-17
Captain: , Hampton VA (150)

Sailed up here for the NYYC Race week in July of 14 from VA (sorry thought i had reviewed here already). While our 36ft boat seemed small here, the boat was kept here for a week before the race and then had them haul it for a month after the race. My wife and I then came up a month later for just us cruising. Boat was launched in in slip, moored properly, and on time. Security was excellent as we needed help to get in with a trailer with the racing gear originally. Night watchman was courteous, and efficient and effective. Office staff was excellent and handled all the details of check in very easily. Most telling part was when it came time to leave, their key book was neat and well organized, like everything else on site. Wife has given 2 thumbs up to stay here again. Bathrooms are EXTEMELY clean and neat. Grounds are also. Reason for late review was this is on the short list to keep the boat at if we move up here, and i have noticed their 2015 rates are the same as 2014. Awesome job NEB! You have not really cruised New England unless you have stayed here.

Open Checkbook Service, 2014-05-11

If you have limitless funds, this may be your boatyard. I was charged $500 for power over a two week period. We weren't staying on our boat, or was the heat or AC left on. I passed on working with them on my refit; we never got a bid for anything we wanted done. I guess we just didn't fit their customer profile: extremely wealthy.

Quiet Alternative to Newport, 2012-07-25
Captain: , Stuart, FL (1019)

We met our electronics guy here to get some work done on the boat. NEB is a major boatyard for rigging and repair. Staff is friendly and helpful (told us it was no problem to stay a couple of hours past check-out time). Melville's is the restaurant on site and it is decent with good food and service.

We rented a car for errands and to get into Newport. Enterprise is right down the road. After all the people and buzz in Newport, it was nice to get back to the quiet of mid-week NEB.

$3.75/ft isn't cheap but compared to $5.00/ft in Newport, it's a bargain!

Secure Marina good yard, 2012-06-12
Captain: , santa barbara (771)

Left boat there for a month - combination of storage and work. Storage was secure with security, yard work was good but not completed timely. Staff was professional, facilities clean.

Great working boatyard, 2012-04-23
Captain: , Bristol, RI (63)

Marina has all possible services for the most demanding sailboats with every possible repair facility. Good services, ships store on site and many additional shopping centers within 5 miles by car. Slips handle > 150' vessels although a bit tight in certain spots. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very clean rest rooms and showers.

Note: Green can #9 on NOAA chart in channel outside NEB is not there a/o 4/22/12

New England Boat, 2012-04-09
Captain: , Bristol RI (80)

great facility, ship store has everything and the personal knowagable and willing to go the extra mile to help. very clean restrooms and showers, great restaurant, loved the chowda.

Full Service Marina, 2011-08-04
Captain: , Bristol, RI (386)

This is a large modern full service marina with excellent facilities. Clean new restrooms, good restaurant on water front, ship's store, transient slips. Fuels prices are on the high side relative to other local marinas. Services rates are less than nearby Hinckley yard.
