Reviews for Navy Point Marine
Great spot in a great village, 2016-08-11
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (420)

Sackets harbor is well worth the visit and Navy Point is ideally located. Don't miss the music and dining at Tin Pan Galley. The multi talented owner performs most nights. Also on Sundays during the season the town sponsors concerts at the battlefield park

Great marina to enjoy a nice town, 2016-07-30
Captain: , Seneca Lake NY (313)

Other reviews are right on.
Power boats w lesL than 15 ft air draft may find transient docking in the covered slips pleasant...docks are on both sides of slips and provide the option of tieing to your preferred side.

Calm and Quiet, 2016-07-21
Captain: , Brewerton, NY (489)

Tucked nicely off the sometimes challenging waves of Lake Ontario, Navy Point provides a nice mid-way stop on a crossing from Oswego to Kingston or the head of the St. Lawrence River. Slips are vintage, but in sturdy and good condition. Very cordial and welcoming office staff. Restroom and shower facility is nicely kept up. Less than 10 minute walk to main street of village, featuring plethora of historic sites and architecture, and numerous shops and eateries. Catering largely to resident sailing clientele, marina is a pretty quiet place, at least during the week.

Marina and City are both Gems, 2016-07-06
Captain: , Naples, FL (170)

I only gave this a 4 star rating because I am holding out giving the full 5 stars for something trully incredible. I havent seen it yet.

The marina is very well protected and deep. The staff could not be more friendly. You cannot BBQ on your boat but they provide a couple gas grills free to use. They are placed in a little garden area with a bubbling brook. I loved it.
Facilities are very very good. The town of Sackets Harbor is just a really cool sleeply little town with history and good restuarants.

Towns like this make cruising great., 2015-07-30
Captain: , Oneida, NY (264)

I pulled into the Marina after hours. I tried to raise them on channel 9, but no answer. I docked at the fuel dock to get the scoop. The locals were very friendly and were able to direct me to a dock that they knew would be empty for a few days. The harbor is very well protected, and the marina facilities were very good. Probably the nicest pump out I've ever used! the staff was really hospitable. I felt like I had come home here. The town is a short walk away, and is a real gem. Very charming. I'll definitely come back here.

Never disappoints, 2014-08-30
Captain: , sodus bay,ny (70)

Stayed over, waiting for the lake to lay down. Top notch marina, very clean restrooms. Nice out door common area. Great little town, lots of history, shops and restaurants.

Very protected - cute village, 2014-07-23
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

Harbor is shaped like the letter "J" with the marina on the curl of the inside of the long side. Spent an extra day here when it was raining and blowing like stink out in the river. Very calm. Nice laundry facilities. Cute village and historic site (War of 1812 and all that). Town dock across the way is noisy (thumpa-thumpa boats) and has lots of traffic - never bothered us at the marina. Nice shops, several restaurants (excellent meal at Goodfellos). Needs a little upkeep of the docks. Of the three towns we visited in New York (here, Clayton, and Alex Bay), this was by far the nicest and the least touristy.

Nice Stop Safe Harbor, 2013-09-21
Captain: , Green Cove Springs FL (1380)

This is the only game in town for a 50 ft boat. They cater to local sailors who occupy 95% of slips, So call ahead for a reservation. Very close to town, nice restaruants quaint quiet village. Lot of shops closed after Labor day. We spent 6 nights there after Labor Day, Local Museum only open a few days and most of it was inoperative. They do not offer any incentives to stay longer with a better rate than $1.75/ft. Electric is included, but if you want 50 amp 125/250 volt not all T-heads are wired the same. Friendly staff. If you have a high freeboard vessel request help with dock lines. No regular dock hands.

Nice stop, well protected location, 2013-08-25
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6484)

We called ahead for reservations as ETA was after regular closing. They assigned slips over the phone, left a welcome pack on the office door. Finger docks narrow and a little shaky, but the rest of the marina in great shape, especially the restrooms/showers. Numerous resaurants in town, Tin Pan Galley is highly rated. This port especiallly good if you want to shorten a Lake Ontario crossing.

Nice Marina--Great town, 2012-08-04
Captain: , Henderson Harbor, NY (431)

Navy Point is within a 5 mintue walk to down town Sackets Harbor and a great little town with good restuarants and bars.

The Marina is well protected with deep water. They carter mostly to Sail Boats but will accomodate Power Boats when slips are available. Best to call ahead for reservastions. Services are good, including power, slips, showers, etc. They do provide fuel and pump outs and have a full service marine shop on site.

Navy Point 2012, 2012-07-12
Captain: , rochester (20)

Great marina, always looking to improve. New this year are BBQ grills plumbed into natural gas so you don't have mess with charcoal.

Nice Place to Stop, 2012-06-09
Captain: , punta gorda, fl (1328)

We stopped here after crossing lake Ontario from Oswego. Very protected. Floating aluminum docks. Grounds are attractive. Good bath/showers and laundry area. Numerous grills and picnic area, Quaint town with shops and restaurants. Lots of history re war of 1812. Marina charged 1.75 per foot including all appurtenances (such as dingy in davits). But, they tell you this in advance and they don't charge extra for electricity. Altogether, a very nice place.

Navy Point Marine, 2011-10-15
Captain: , Catawba Island, Ohio (160)

Nice clean marina. Fantastic garden and gazebo overlooking bay. Nice baths. Primarly a sailboat marina with very competetant sailboat service. Walking distance to village, museums and battlefield. One of our favorite stops. Must eat at Tin Pan Galley!

Pricey but Friendly, 2011-04-20
Captain: , Kingston, ON (455)

We've always enjoyed our stays at Navy Point. The people are friendly and the facilities are clean.
The town itself is one of the prettiest that I've seen anywhere on the lake. There are plenty of restaurants, historical tours, and museums.
Tne town is a 'must see'.

Navy Point Marina, 2010-07-05
Captain: , Wicomico Creek, MD (494)

Reasonably priced marina @ $1.75/ft. Clean bathrooms, laundry, slips OK. Fairly quiet for a 4th of July. Close to town, restaurants and historical fort. Pump out $10, diesel at $3.47/gal

Don't judge a town by its marina, 2010-06-30
Captain: , Palm Coast (792)

In this case the marina is only a way to get to the town. They cater to their seasonal customers and accept the rest of us if possible. We ended up on the docks for their travellift. I say docks because the front half of the boat was tied to the dock on one side of the lift well while the stern was tied to the other side.

This is our second time here and you put up with that if you want to visit the town which is most charming and has great places to eat combined with interesting history. You will have to hike a couple of miles if you need supplies.

So come for the town and you've probably been in worst marinas.

Navy Point Marina, 2009-05-19
Captain: , Wellesley Island, NY (15)

Excellent protected Marina with several trainsient slips. I usually call ahead to reserve a slip. I have called the day befor to an hour before arrival, and have never been turned away. It is a short walk to local resturants. They have both Diesel and Gas and a pump out is available. A nice touch is they will give you a Navy Point Koosie when you check in.

Navy Point, 2008-09-13
Captain: , grindstone is, ny (3)

Very overpriced. Most expensive marina we have stayed at this summer on L Ontario, but the marina is not that great. Practice of making big deal of length including swim platform is kind of chintzy. However, Sackets Harbor is charming little town and Navy Point has the only game in town.

Class A marina, 2008-07-18
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

Nice docks, cleanest bathrooms we've seen in ages. Beautiful garden by laundry which "makes doing laundry a pleasant experience." My biggest gripe is that they charge based upon total length, not LOA, so my davits added 4'

beautiful but pricy, 2007-07-08
Captain: , Belhaven, NC (363)

The lovely villiage of Sackett's Harbor with many restaurants, antique stores, museums, and even a battlefield is the crown jewel of Black River Bay. Navy Point is there to cash in on it. Diesel fuel for $.85 over the going rate. Very little space for transients.
