1 stall shower/head each for men and women. Oclub next door, well protected. Free washer and dryer. $2.00 per ft cost for slips. Great floating docks.

Best Marina in Narragansett, 2015-03-31
Captain: , Boston (50)

If you have military ID, welcome to the best maintained marina I have tied up to. Clean showers! wide docks, friendly staff, friendly neighbors, 1 min walk to good restaurant, 15 min walk to Walmart, Supermarket. Warrants six stars

Well protected, well equipped facility, 2014-09-26
Captain: , Avondale, PA (448)

This is a well protected marina that was calm even with strong winds blowing upo white caps out oin Narragansett Bay. The staff was friendly and helpful though they didn't respond to calls as we came in, resulting in the only help on landing being a friendly couple from the boat in front of us. The heads and showers are immaculate and the free laundry a significant bonus. The Officer's club is next door and is reputed to have good food at a reasonable price. The Navy Exchange, Package Store and Commissary are not close but withing reasonable walking distance. Note that the Commissary is closed on Mondays. Newport Nautical, Stop & Shop and WalMart are off base but very close by.

The only thing that prevented me from giving this facility 5 stars is that the wifi service is unstable and didn't reach more than halfway down the piers. Even with a booster antenna I couldn't connect from the face dock where they put transients.

If you have stayed here before 2010 be prepared for a new experience. New docks and shower house! A young staff will give you slightly better service but still not expert advice. We radioed in to get advice on a port or starboard tie since the current matched the wind, they didn't answer the radio. Called them on the phone and we were told that they don't recommend how boats should tie up, huh, but they met us at the dock to help us into our transient slip. When we told them that they didn't answer our radio calls they said they would turn up the radio volume.......

Were else can you stay in Newport, RI, for $2 a foot? Nice floating docks and new showers/bathrooms for everyone. Only one shower for m/f each but they were never crowded. The laundry was a bonus as well - it was free commercial front loading machines! We did seven loads and saved our pennies to order pizza fro Mama Leone's!

As far as MWR marinas go this is one of the best. We will be back!!
