Reviews for Nauticus
This is only an "OVERFLOW" marina for Waterside Marina!, 2012-09-30
Captain: , Bear DE (694)

Be aware that this Marina is only an overflow Marina for "Waterside Marina". Check in at Waterside Marina! call (757) 625-3625 or channel 16

low bridge, public display, but cool place, 2012-08-07
Captain: , Chesapeake, VA (253)

I haven't tied up here, I don't make the 24' cutoff. I will say this, though. Nauticus is COOL. Worth taking a day to see, it's full of everything nautical, from the ancient to ultra-modern. If you want (or need) a down day, Nauticus is a good way to do it.

Nauticus (April 2011), 2011-04-27
Captain: , Richmond VA (281)

Nauticus is run by the Waterside marina. It is so small it is easy to miss, in fact I have cruised that area for years before I ever noticed it. Well once I did my curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to try it. Waterside can be very public especially when you more on the inside wall. I didn%u2019t want feel like I was on display and asked to try Nauticus. When you get in the marina you feel like you%u2019re surrounded by buildings. This gives you a good protection from the elements but also hampers your view and no internet provided. In addition I pulled in on Monday and asked for weeklong stay (no weekly or mouthy rate breaks). Wednesday morning they told me that Nauticus itself was having an event and we would have to be escorted on and off our boat from 5pm Wednesday to 8pm Thursday. Couple this with the fact that a Waterside facility member had to also escort us after they found the security guard, and they only were around during business hours. So we had to move. We chose to go to Ocean Marine Yacht Center, and paid for a month the same amount as I would have spent for a week at Nauticus or Waterside

Excellent location, 2009-08-23

Many resturants nearby ranging from good diner to fine dining. New addition is a full service grocery only two blocks away. Only negative is marina is more subject to wakes than Watersde ( they are operated as one) although not a real problem.

Very convenient and quiet, 2009-07-31
Captain: , Marathon, FL (1213)

Located right next to Town Point Park and in the midst of Nauticus, this marina is a bit tricky to get into, but is much quieter than Waterside. The entrance to the museum is about 100 feet, so there is some foot traffic, but not a lot. We were there during Bayou Boogaloo, so it was noisy over the weekend, but we enjoyed the convenience of the festival. Norfolk is a great town to walk. Try the Cannonball Trail for an introduction to the history of the area.

Great Little Hidden Marina, 2009-07-31
Captain: , South Portland, ME (537)

Nauticus is a small marina hidden behind the Nauticus Maritime Center and Naval Museum (where the USS Wisconsin is docked). It is tight getting in but excellent once you are there. It has a 24 foot air draft to get under a foot bridge. The service level is great and the floating docks are in like new condition. Great way to see a fun city.
