Reviews for Nanticoke River Marine Park
Stopped here for a week one night, 2015-08-14
Captain: , Kings Creek Marina (746)

We were only going to Seaford, DE., so we could say we had. What a delightful marina. Harbor Master is in the office Thursday thru Sunday. If you get there Monday thru Wednesday, just wait a while, and leave your cell phone number on his answering machine. He will catch up with you sooner or later. Kind of like Island Time in the middle of the Delmarva. This is one of the most protected marinas I have ever seen. A little channel off the Nanticoke River leads into a circular basin protected from all sides and all weather. Next time there is a hurricane, I'm headed here!
Came for a night - stayed a week. And will do it again.

Nanticoke River Marina. Still a great stop, 2015-07-13
Captain: , baltimore md (644)

We stopped here for 2 weeks in july '09 and couldn't have been more pleased. Roland is the dockmaster and is great. Excellent laundry/restrooms. Fuel and pump out available at very good price (fuel). Riverfest is in mid july and is great fun. Several looper/mtoa cruisers there and a extra friendly yacht club. Satellite view as of 3/10 doesn't show marina (too new). We came up the Nanticoke again July 10 to attend the annual River fest. The " float down" was a blast. Again we met some very nice people with some very unique boats. Ed Cranston is the dockmaster and everyone is so friendly. This is a great stop for a week or two.

Great place to re-provision, 2014-06-13
Captain: , Pungoteague, VA (227)

We came in here for just a night or two and ended up staying five. This is a modern facility with floating concrete docks, very clean, with a friendly staff.

There are two convenience stores to the north: BP just a block, with basic stuff, and Royal Farms just a couple more blocks, with bigger selection including their fresh fried chicken. For more serious provisioning, a Walmart Supercenter and a Lowes are 2 miles NNE.

There is a laid-back yacht club on the premises, and it isn't difficult to get an invitation to Happy Hour on Wednesdays, or the $10 dinners they have most Friday nights.

This place goes on our Keeper List, and we'll come back here any time we're up the Nanticoke.

Great facilities, 2012-10-22

New marina with great floating docks. A long way to the Bay, but friendly folks and an excellent hurricane hole.

Nice Place, 2010-11-01
Captain: , Alexandria VA (59)

We enjoyed a Columbus Day weekend stay here. The marina docks are excellent and Roland the manager is a great and helpful fellow. The shower/bath facilities are OK, not fancy but they work fine.
Folks around the marina are friendly and helpful. The Marina Restaurant is a very short walk and has good food.
The ride up and down the Nanticoke is the main reason to go here as it's a beautiful river. Otherwise we found very little to do as we explored downtown Seaford.

Note: there's an unmarked no wake zone along the town's industrial waterfront leading up to the marina which we were gently informed of upon arrival. The railroad swing bridge is marked "no wake" but we're told this is enforced well before you reach this area. So as you start to see grain elevators and refinery towers slow down.

Overall it's a nice facility and good stopover as you explore the natural beauty of the Nanticoke.

Lower Slower Delaware, 2010-05-09
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (495)

Nice place, laid back and friendly people. We are going to base out of here for the summer and travel the lower Chesapeake. The Nanticoke River is very scenic as it meanders through Maryland's Eastern Shore to Delaware. Please note that the bridge clearance at the Route 50 bridge is 50 feet, so it will be unacessable for some taller sail boats.

Marina bar and grill just behind the marina, and a Yacht Club on premises. Wal-mart, lowes and all kinds of resturants and motels within 1 mile of hte marina.
