Reviews for Nanaimo Yacht Club
nice reciprocal, 2016-08-04
Captain: , Gig Harbor, WA (225)

We came into Nanaimo later in the afternoon and found that the Nanaimo Port Authority was completely full. I called the dockmaster at NYC and he found a place for us in a members spot at the docks. He was very helpful and friendly. There is some exposure on the outside docks where we were with lots of locals going to and from their crab pots. But not an excessively rough location.
It is about a 1 mile walk along the waterfront oark to get to the shopping area and restaurants. Very pleasant. $5 for power and no charge for a single overnight for a reciprocal club is a great bargain.

Stayed for two nights. Good rates, pretty friendly staff. Would definitely stay again

Reciprocals can spend a pretty rough night, 2014-06-24
Captain: , Breakwater Marina (83)

Reciprocals spots are limited to the outside of the South and East breakwaters, both very exposed to waves from weather and traffic on the channel. Not only can that cause a very uncomfortable night, but its a long walk to the restrooms and showers. I also found the staff at the desk to be pretty surly. Not a place I'd ever stay again.

Really nice facility - and the walk to town is nice with a great park for kids about half way to Thrifty Store.

Price is reasonable if extending stay from a visiting YC.
