Reviews for NPS Little Sand Bay Marina
Upgrades completed 2015, 2016-12-09
Captain: , Ashland, wi (130)

Hate to give it a thumbs up as this may mean more folks will find the place. The Parks Service has added considerably to the dockage facility since this photo was taken. This is a real jem. Read the other reviews to get a feel for it. Basic facilities so bring what you need with you. Not the most comfortable dock with strong N winds.

Very nice harbor, worth the stop., 2016-09-11
Captain: , Kansas City (20)

Stopped in over Labor Day weekend expecting to just run in and out. I was surprised to see that there were plenty of empty slips at hand so stayed overnight.

Showers were welcome. $2

Ice was available self pay for $6 a bag

Hoksen fishery was well worth the walk through.

The channel was getting a little silted in, with my keel down I draw 5 feet and I touched a bit coming right dowm the middle. Going out, I found a bit more depth on the west side but obviously this sort of thing will change with time so just feel your way in carefully.

Nice anchorage for South to East winds, 2013-10-08
Captain: , Bayfield, WI (145)

We usually anchor off the Fisheries dock in 10 to 12 feet with a sand bottom. The Ranger station has a a small interprative center with some interesting artifacts and very clean restrooms. There is also a nice video about the park. The Russel town campground even has coin operated showers. The ranger can give you a very informative tour of the fishery next door.

Great Stop To Picnic, 2013-07-30
Captain: , Peoria, IL (310)

We stopped here for a picnic after leaving Sand Island. Great facilities, hiking trails, etc. Had no trouble getting a spot to tie up. First come, first served. No charge.
