Reviews for Mystery Bay State Park

Nice little bay to ride out a blow, but the park ranger is a petty tyrant.
Too bad, I won't be back unless I have to.

Mystery Solved, 2014-07-21

In the bay itself there are numerous shellfish protection zones preventing anchoring and quite a few boats on private moorings. If you can get a park buoy or space on the small dock then you can enjoy the protection of the bay. Otherwise you will just be anchored in Kilisut harbor with reasonable protection from the south. The park itself doesn't offer even picnic space. It's just a public boat launch and some bathrooms. I don't generally mind lack of facilities if there is also a lack of people and activity. Not so here. The harbor is busy with comings and goings of fishing boats that gun it the moment they are free of the ramp.

Great Place to Stop, 2013-07-30
Captain: , Everett,WA (35)

I stayed here July 21 - 23, 2013 with a -2.5' low & had no problems (I draw 5.5'). The store is close & fairly well provisioned. We rode our bikes up to Fort Flagler & It was an easy ride.

Okay anchorage, 2011-11-03
Captain: , Chinook Landing Marina, Tacoma (315)

This is a very shallow anchorage with fairly significant tides. While the dock does not go dry it gets close and the mooring bouys are in less than 6' at low tide. There is a nice little general store a short dingy ride east. Otherwise I am not sure the challenges of the channel to get into the bay are worth the stay.
