Reviews for Myrtle Beach Yacht Club
Great Stop, 2017-09-04
Captain: , Beaufort, SC (245)

Boat US dock rate of $1.00 a foot. Friendly efficient staff, helped with the lines. Washrooms are decent. Lots of shopping about 4 miles away. WiFi was mostly not working and they were having problems with the pump out. We stayed for three days and would stop again

Definately will be back-- soon!!, 2017-07-05
Captain: , Isle of Palms, SC (314)

7-5-17. Left Harbor Village at 6:15am. Beautiful day all day. Changed plans when realize get into Southport way too early and changed to MBYC at mm346. Fueled up-- 80 gal/stb. And 62.2 in port -total 141.6. With Boat US dockage was $34!!(my boat is 34')! $5 for electricity- 30 amp. Gene was as competent as cute helping us dock and take on fuel. Have a pass to get in the club's grill- taco and tequila sunrises on very special! Shower secure, clean and even the soap dispensers had soap. Wifi strong on A-10. Easy to take dog out. No current and maybe a foot tide fall. Docks in great shape. We are here for only 1 night but may be a very good place for several days since so much going on around here. We will be back %u2013 most definitely!!

Nice place to stop, 2017-06-21
Captain: , jacksonville, FL (340)

Lex was waitng for us in the rain. Was very helpful. The Officerrs Club restaurat is closed on Monday and Tuesday. The seafood resaurant next door is very pricey. Their exercise room is not in service.

But at $1/ foot, this is a nice place to stop.

Lovely area. Well run marina., 2017-06-11
Captain: , Hull, MA (580)

Elan, Capt Steve and Lynne, Cohasset, MA
Very helpful dock hands, connected electric for us. Clean, roomy showers and restrooms. Friendly restaurant, Officers Club, where we enjoyed happy hour and $1 taco night. We will be back!

Great stopping point, reasonable fees, 2017-06-04
Captain: , Verona WI (292)

We were planning to spend 1 week which turned into 10 days due to some delays in car repairs. The marina staff has been fantastic in accommodating our delays. The marina itself is very nice with floating docks, docks are being replaced and C dock is all new lumber. This place has of the nicest laundromats of any marina we've been to $1.50 wash/dry. Memorial Day they had a pot luck in the pool area with smoked pulled pork provided by the marina. They have a fairly large liveaboard community most on B dock. Everyone here seems to have a dog and all are well behaved. Poop bags are provided and nearly everyone picks up after their pets ( of course there are always exceptions). We will definitely stay here again on our trip south this fall. There is a restaurant within walking distance and when you arrive you are given a pass to the Officers Club upstairs. Only downside is proximity to grocery stores, hardware etc.

Great For Long or Short Stay, 2017-05-26
Captain: , Georgetown, MD (372)

This is a great marina for the dollars spent. If you stay for more than 10 days you pay for the whole month which is very reasonable. We arrived a day earlier than planned and they were able to accommodate us even though we didn't inform them ahead of time. The facilities are very clean and the Officers Club is a great restaurant. The downside is there is really not much within walking distance so you need a car for shopping in North Myrtle Beach. This is a great place to leave your boat if you need to go somewhere as the harbor is very well protected with no current.

One of the Best, 2017-05-11
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (415)

Absolutely cannot not get a nicer marina for only a dollar per foot. Bud was very patient when I could not manage the wind and get our 47-footer into our assigned slip. After six failed attempts, how embarrasing, he suggested the end of a nearby t-dock.

The marina is well sheltered from any wind and current. Our ;portion of the dock has all new wood.

Unfortunately, we are only here for one night and not able to enjoy all they have to offer. But, we will be back.

Great stopping point, 2017-05-09
Captain: , Grass Valley, CA (320)

The staff was very accomdating, Showers/restrooms were nice and the laundry room has computers, printers, a book shelk, irons, clothes hanger and great WiFi (oh yeah, it has washers and dryers too :-)

At a dollar a foot it more than paid for our rental car which we needed to transport one of the 8D batteries back to Interstate batteries. Still under warranty and no questions asked, they just swapped it out.

Forgot to mention the pool and BBQ area(shaded).

If you are in the area this really is a good stopping point, especially if you need to spend several days.

Excellent Professionally Run Marina , 2017-05-06
Captain: , Savannah GA (82)

Great value, nice people, strong wifi, clean laundry, showers and heads. The staff makes sure all your needs are met. Easy in and off. Came in for 3 nights, because of weather stayed 7. We will be back. Thanks Lex and staff!!

Great value, helpful dock staff, 2017-05-05
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (7375)

Stayed 4/27/2017; dock staff very helpful guiding us in and getting us tied up. Free in-slip pump outs. Docks in great condition, grounds clean. Good meal at the Officer's Club, other restaurants nearby.

Great stop with good value. Good protection from weather., 2017-04-24
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (3189)

4 24 2017 Called before business hours in the mornng and left message asking if I could get slip for the day. Prompt call back to me just after they opened and arranged a stay on phone. Friendly staff and good help when docking. This place is good value for dockage. Facilities clean. The boardwalk around this basin is great for a long walk around for exercise if you want. This will be a stop when transiting through again. Good fuel prices.

Nice Stop in Myrtle Beach, 2017-04-22
Captain: , Branson, MO (90)

The price for this marina is great, $1.25/ft. But the quality exceeds the value. Very clean and the staff is helpful and cheerful. The restaurant next door, Clark's, is extremely good. A little pricey but the food was delicious and the staff was great.
Captain John, M/V Seascape

Stellar service, 2017-04-22
Captain: , Kingston (72)

We arrrived there after trying to get a hold of Lightkeepers' marina (who never responded). The attendant had finished his day but came back to assist us. He was really friendly and helpful. Facilities were great. Go to to this place, not to lighthouse keepers marina who do not even bother to respond to voice message, e-mails, or calls on VHF.

Great Value, 2017-02-16
Captain: , Wrightsville Beach, NC (55)

This is a wonderful marina along the ICW. It is off the ICW so the water is calm for a good night's sleep. You will enjoy good facilities, and, most important, very competent friendly people if you stop here.

Thank goodness they answered our call, 2017-02-15
Captain: , Fair Haven, NY (100)

After trying to reach Lightkeeper's and Coquina with no avail, we were able to reach Sebastian here. We stayed at the fuel dock for the night and had a wonderful dinner at the Yacht club. Angie the bartender was gracious and spot on with what to recommend for dinner. Great restrooms and awesome showers. Would go there again.

Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, 2016-11-12
Captain: , Galesville, MD (1341)

11/12/16 - Update - Still a great stop. Don't miss the wings at the Officers Club upstairs. Price per foot still a good value.

Convenient stop. Great price at $1/ft. Clean. Bud was a great dockmaster to work with. Good wifi. Secure docks.

A Favorite Marina, 2016-11-05
Captain: , Cincinnati, OH (110)

We had already planned to be there when Matthew came through as we really enjoyed our previous visit. What was planned as a couple of days turned out to be five weeks! I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating the staff at MBYC are. Not to mention, this is a great "hurricane hole" with excellent protection and floating docks. We did evacuate inland when Matthew came through, but our boat saw no damage. Power was out for a few days, but the whole marina and boats saw minimal damage as well. Two great restaurants on site, and if you have a car, I highly recommend going to Little River and Calabash for fantastic seafood.

Frindly efficient yet homey, 2016-10-30
Captain: , Marion, MA (472)

Called 2 days ahead and they had room.Practised and efficient AND competent handling by everyone. Had to wait 4 days for water to drop and they made it work even though they were very busy. Friendly neighborhood feeling, clean facilities. Will stop here on our way back. Highly recommended!

Terrible place, 2016-07-09
Captain: , Shinnecock Bay, NY (610)

I want to say this is a terrible marina just to keep people away so I can get a slip. Great location for a quick stop before exiting through Little River Inlet. New (Or renewed) T-dock, easy in and out of the ICW. Good pool, resturant, showers, laundry. Not too much within walking distance, a car is needed to get to stores. Tides run prettu fast out on the ICW but this marina is off in a cove and is not bothered by the current. Went thru a pretty good sized thunder storm with some big wind but hardly felt it. I take 5.5' draft and came in at dead low and saw 6' in the channel, but I got in. Once past the entrence it was deeper to the dock. At the dock it again went to about 6'. Large tide swing so there will be no trouble getting in or out any time for me.

perfect stop, 2016-07-01
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, Fl (320)

Safe Returns 65 ft fairline Squadron
This was really a perfect stop for a boater. Bud and Leila both helped us tie up. They did a great job and gave us great service the entire time. Nice showers and bathrooms. Nice pool. Onsite restaurant was really good. Also right next door is another nice resturant. Both had great views of the Marina.

Best Home Port, 2016-06-05
Captain: , Myrtle Beach, S.C. (32)

Could not ask for a better place. Everyone in the staff cares and is very helpful...

Well protected marina, great staff, 2016-05-30
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (1244)

Nice facility, good power and friendly folks. Marina staff went out of their way to find a place for me as TS Bonnie was making her way ashore. Restaurants on site. Good coin laundry.

A great find, 2016-04-26
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1130)

What a rarity: excellent facilities and service combined with a great pricing! All good.

First rate marina at third rate prices, 2016-03-23
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (70)

Beautiful marina, great staff, incredible price...$1/ft for BoatUS and $7.50 for 50 amp. Wifi and cable also included. Everything is in good shape, and when I went to pay, Jean was out landscaping a bit. I figured on one night here, but may have to lay over a couple days. Very quiet, clean and has gated docks. If you stop in this area...STOP HERE. I doubt you will be disapointed. Jean and Lex are great people. Stop and see them.

Good prices, well maintained, 2016-03-18
Captain: , Richmond, VA (201)

The Myrtle Beach Yacht club marina does not require affiliation with a home yacht club. It is a relatively easy in and out. The staff person, Jean, was exceptional. She assisted with fueling, line handling, and was a wealth of general geographical general knowledge. It is a short walk to McDonalds and a connivence store. Not sure about grocery as we did not need that. All in all, we will return here in the future.

$1 per foot slip, 2016-02-10
Captain: , Bear, DE (560)

Stayed here in early November.

Convenient, well-protected harbor surrounded by condominiums which reduce the wind in the marina. Well met by very capable dockhand. Very welcoming staff. Facility was clean and well maintained. Fuel dock was an easy in and out.

Dockage rate was only $1.00 per foot. Hard to find anything better for that price. Will definitely recommend to others.

Great 3 night stay, 2015-11-30
Captain: , Sausalito, CA (161)

Friendly, helpful, can't say enough good things.

Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, 2015-11-27
Captain: , Leamington, Ontario (710)

Us - 47 foot sailboat, 6' draft, 66' air draft
Shoaling at entrance, dragged keel at entrance low tide. Once inside entrance, lots of water. AWESOME staff! Very nice facility, well protected, close to great restaurants. Nice pool, nice showers! Very well priced, fuel available and well priced.

Top notch., 2015-11-25
Captain: , Apponaug R.I. (908)

Great value. Docks were tight but doable. If you are not good at handeling your boat do not go here. Rest rooms, showers, dockhands are all top notch.

Great Stop!, 2015-11-11
Captain: , Sandusky , Ohio (100)

Julie & Terry, Sandusky, Ohio

Great Marina with super nice people running it. Easy access with plenty of water. Dock master Lex bent over backwards to make our stay a good one!

Very nice service, 2015-11-11
Captain: , Montreal (20)

We stayed there for one night and we got good service. Shower is clean, laundry works quite well and Wifi is very good high speed all the way!

Exceptional Value, 2015-11-04
Captain: , Lake Texoma (190)

Stopped in on our way south in early November. Excellent staff who were extremely helpful & accommodating. Officer's Club was entertaining with reasonable prices. Southern hospitality at its finest!

Stayed 10-17-15 and once again hospitality rules, 2015-10-19
Captain: , Hampton, VA (150)

Great marina with the most hospitable staff we have come across. Well protected harbor but take care entering from ICW. There is a large rock close to the red markers so keep more to the green when entering. Good restaurants nearby and the officers club is good on site as well.

Gfreat Overnight stopover, 2015-10-17
Captain: , Hull, MA (720)

Marina is a bargain at $1/ft rate. Marina is located right off the ICW in a well protected manmade cove, has floating docks, clean restroom shower facilities and 2 restaurants on site. The staff is very helpful assisting you whatever your needs are. The biggest weakness is their WIFI system is terrible. Diesel at $2.34/gal

Never answered phone or returned calls, 2015-10-02
Captain: , Seven Oaks, South Carolina (245)

We tried numerous times to reach them via telephone, no live person, and they didn't bother to return calls. We went on and found great people at Osprey Marina.

Agree with the others, 2015-09-22
Captain: , North Charleston, SC (752)

This is a great "hidden gem" right on the ICW. Very competetive fuel price (diesel) and dockage at $1.00 per foot (Boat US). Where do you find that with a pool to boot?

Everything was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly.

Just what a marina should be, 2015-09-10
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (20)

Stayed with MBYC for two nights 6/28 and 6/29/2015.

When we first pulled into MBYC I was a bit concerned by the condition of the docks - the decking is a bit tired and in need of replacement - but within minutes we realized that wasn't what was iimportant. The real spirit of a marina is in its occupants and its management, and here we were welcomed, helped and supported from the very first moment we arrived.

The folks on C-Dock were awesome. The night we arrived, we were invited to a potluck spagetti dinner poolside. People stopped what they were doing to help us with our lines, and showed a genuine interest in what and how we were doing. For a transient stay, we could not have been more graciously welcomed.

On our route to MBYC we realized that we were running a bit slow in the current. Once we arrived, we checked their webpage and under service providers found Larry's Diving and Propeller. Larry rearranged his schedule on short notice, came down and did a great job cleaning our bottom at a fair price.

Finally while warming up the engines we had identified an air leak from the bottom of a Racor filter, and without asking Lex in the front office marshalled us into his car, and drove us to an auto parts store nearby to pick up a fresh O-Ring to seal the leak.

This truly is a welcoming and warm marina - deserving the highest rating. It is the people who really matter as we move from place to place....

Friendly staff, 2015-08-15
Captain: , Honolulu (712)

Stayed 7/23/15. $1 per foot, plus electric. Great assistance getting into the slip and then lots of helpful information in the office. Used the pool but didn't try the restaurant. Good location.

Nice Spot, Good People, 2015-08-05
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (185)

As a liveaboard/cruiser, enjoyed the community of boaters here. The staff was helpful and friendly. The on-site restaurant has a good menu and the food was well prepared.

What a bargain at $1/ft, and cheap diesel to boot!, 2015-07-12
Captain: , Bayfield, WI and the ICW (1390)

The docks aren't in first class condition, but what do we care about what the docks look like? Nice swimming pool, friendly staff, dependable power, access to restaurants and great protection.

Overnight stay, 2015-06-02
Captain: , Daytona (410)

May 14, 2015
Only spent one night here so didn't get a chance to explore the surrounding area. Tucked back in a protective cove and with our boat U.S. discount, couldn't beat the price $1/ft. Facility was clean and had a pool, which would be nice for staying during the warmer months. Would stay again if schedule allowed for it.

Late Arrival, 2015-04-19
Captain: , Guntersville (100)

Planned to arrive before 5, but Little River Bridge problems held us up for more than 1 hour. Called the Marina - no problem, we will be here when you get here. Sure enough, when we finally arrived much past 6 we were greeted with great hospitality.

Nice facility, very well protected, good meal at the Officers Club and reasonable price.

Great Marina, 2015-03-08
Captain: , Grand Island, NE (240)

Excellent Marina - courteous staff - professional - clean restrooms / launday and showers.

Dockmaster 'Bud' is incredible - helpful with local knowledge and willing to help secure outside resources as necessary.

John and Rose offer a repose and dinning experience in their Officers Club onsite restaraunt.

Great facility with helpful staff., 2015-01-27
Captain: , Washington, NC (30)

Just far enough off the ICW and surrounded by tall condos to protect from the wind made for a pleasant stopover. Lex met us at the dock and was super helpful and efficient.

What a deal!, 2014-11-22
Captain: , Annapolis (560)

Only stayed here for one night, but enjoyed it. Staff was friendly and helpful. This is a modern, clean facility within walking distance to shops, etc. With Boat/US discount, only paid $1/ft/night. Fuel prices also were reasonable.

Really friendly, 2014-09-14
Captain: , Sanford, Fl. (887)

Really a first class Marina. Have met a lot of people who make it their summer home!
This is our second stop at MBYC. The people really go out of their way to be friendly. That includes the crew Bud, Liela and Lex who really run a nice Marina. I also highly recommend the Officers Club Restaurant. Good food at reasonable prices. Altogether a class act!

This is a well kept and nicely maintained facility. Staff is very professional. The people are some of the most friendly I have run into in a marina. For only spending 2 nights we must have met at least 4 couples who went out of their way to welcome us. The pool is a really nice benefit. We will be back!

Wonderful Place, Wonderful People, 2014-08-12
Captain: , Hamilton, Ontario (1141)

We are making our way slowly south and originally decided to stay for one or two nights. Within 24 hours we realized we were in an awesome marina filled with wonderful staff and great residents/members. The prices here might just be the best along the seaboard. We draw 7 feet and that was not a problem. In the end we decided to wait out the end of hurricane season here... Folks gather by the pool every afternoon for a beverage and some social time. Every time we attend, something wonderful happens, from the offer of a ride into town, to a great spot to find a cheap meal... Although we think the facilities are excellent, we learned that they are planning to replace all the floating docks and dredge the harbor this winter... This place is a "must stop" marina....

Nice marina, loved Clark's Seafood & Chop House next door, 2014-07-14
Captain: , Bethlehem, PA (736)

Nice marina but has concrete pilings and docks. And a little tight to get in and out.

Fourth visit, 2014-05-15
Captain: , annapolis (453)

Nice marina. One stop: fuel, pump out, slip and restaurant. Manager Bud and assistants are very helpful. Floating docks, a little rough, but in good condition. Nice laundry and showers. With Boat US disc pd. $1/ft. what a bargin. Will stop again.

Second visit here, 2014-04-23
Captain: , Washington DC (312)

This is our second time at this marina for an overnight stay. Staff is attentive and helpful with docking. Colored signage on pilings gives dock letter and even or odd side numbering to help you find your slip. Fuel dock is straight back at the end of the fairway. Clean and safe marina in a small snug harbor. Good pricing. We would stay here again.

Great dockage, 2014-04-20
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl (960)

The marina is tucked in Coquina Harbor at the very end of the harbor. Great fuel prices, very reasonable dockage fee. With Boat US discount we paid $1/ft. Dockmaster Bud is very knowledgeable about docking any size vessel. The laundry, showers, restrooms secure and very clean. Yacht club restaurant open to transients. Excellent meal and very friendly staff.

Waiting for Spring, 2014-02-11
Captain: , Phoenix (580)

We decided to leave Beaufort, SC and head north and wait out here till spring. This marina was reccommended to us by some friends so we checked it out. Lots to do in the Myrtle Beach area. Great rates, nice people, and the can rent you a car on the spot if needed. Grocery shopping a few miles away that you can bike to if you want. Friendly live aboards and very helpful people. Free guest membership to the Yacht club resturant that has very reasonable prices and good food.

Good stopover before rockpile, 2013-11-26
Captain: , Vandemere NC (418)

Helpfull marina in good location before going through the rockpile southbound. Secure docks with a lot of friendly cruisers. Clark's Restaurant next door provided one of thr best meals on the ICW.

Good stop , 2013-11-15
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (1190)

Easy in and out, nice facilities with a PC, printer and desk within the laundry room. Good prices, friendly staff, floating wood docks. Will stop here again. Oh yea good food at the restaurant, especially if you're from the Philly, South Jersey area. They used to own the Jug Handle on Rt73 in NJ.

A great stop at the right price, 2013-10-26
Captain: , Houston, Texas (970)

Good help getting tied up at the gas dock and thin in a slip. We used the on-site 'rent-a-wreck' to go to Wally, Dollar Tree, West Marine, and to Calabash for dinner. Good wifi. Afternoon byob at the pool. We met some great folks.
Deep, easy entrance.

Fabulous location, 2013-10-05
Captain: , Port Everglades (595)

With Boat US discount, only $1/ft . Helpful staff nice floating docks and competitively priced fuel ($3.75 incl tax).
Great restaurant .. Clark's .. and nice bar on property.

Nice, clean and cheap, 2013-09-30
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (462)

Stopped here for two days while I resolved a fuel problem. Nice location with a mini-mart and McDonalds a couple of blocks away. $1.00/ft with BoatUS discount.

5 Days...but we must leave, 2013-09-05
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (986)

At dead low tide we had 7 ft from entrance channel to slip so don't let the one negative comment sway you! Experienced, highly professional staff. Pump out receptacles at your slip. Excellent facilities from pool to the Officers Club Restaurant. All the ladies loved Aqua Zumba but unfortunately ended the season after Labor Day. On location - Clark's Restaurant is well worth a visit.

Great Place, 2013-09-02
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (250)

We stayed at MBYC on a Labor Day cruise with the Cape Fear Sail and Power Squadron. Great facility. Easy in/out. Secure docks. Nice pool, clean and spacious bathrooms, Officer's Club restaurant on premises is great for lunch and dinner. Grilling areas (grills and picnic tables) provided (no grilling on boats). All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Ship's store--ice, ice cream, sodas, some clothes, a few boating parts, fluids, etc.

Ask Dockmaster Bud Coonfield about his Sweet Southern Peach frozen drink! He made a batch for our group and they were awesome.

Will definitely stay here again.

delightful stop, 2013-08-08

after nineteen days of our trip either moving and anchor out for the night or staying in a marina and sightseeing until we dropped each day, we decided to go somewhere peaceful and more remote with lots of great amenities and this location was perfect. Great, friendly staff, nice slips, clean showers, laundry and a wonderful pool and good eats for lunch and dinner on site Officers Club. With boat US it was $1.00 per night and $5.00 for electric. Tis was so nice, I almost did not want to leave after 2 days and night. would definitely recommend this place and will stop on our way back south.

Nice two night stop, 2013-07-23
Captain: , Weston, VT (570)

Had never been to Myrtle Beach. Rented a car (Enterprise will pick you up) to explore and while the area did nothing for us the marina was great. Mark helped us fuel up and then changed our slip assignment when I requested a starboard tie. Nice pool and casual bar/restaurant. Only problem was waste pumpout. Their system would not draw well enough to pump our holding tank. Don't know why. Will return though.

good stop in Myrtle Beach, 2013-06-03
Captain: , New Bern, NC (171)

We stayed here night before last. Very well protected harbor. Dock master very helpful getting us tied up and settled. Facilities very good, nice pool, which we took advantage of, and 2 restaurants on site. All for $1/ft with BoatUS discount. Saw a minimum of 7' in the entrance channel at low tide.

NIce stop well protected, 2013-06-01
Captain: , Mullica Hill, NJ (688)

Friendly helpful dockmaster. Well protected harbor. Two restaurants only ate at Officers and food was good. Very clean Resrooms and showers. WiFi at all of the docks. The floating wooden finger piers are very narrow and shakey. Wife had some difficulty walking to the main dock. Very difficult to get hold of anyone. There was only the dockmaster when arrived and he finally answered the radio as we approaced the dock. I never got through or a callback on the phone. (The Lightkeeper Marina never answered the phone or the radio)
Will stay here again.

Nice marina, 2013-05-01
Captain: , wichita falls (260)

We stayed on the fuel dock overnight and before we came in didn't know what to expect. It was a great surprise. The place was great, clean and the staff was very helpful.

Cant beat the price, 2013-04-30
Captain: , Great Falls, VA (1092)

For a buck a foot, you cant beat it, I hate the anchorage at Little River and will gladly pay for the marina when coming through here. Wifi is a tad slow, but for this price I wouldnt complain if there was no wifi at all.

Great Marina, 2013-04-16
Captain: , Stony Point, NY (852)

We came because we have friends from home who retired here. We were greeted by the staff very warmly, and helped into ur slip. They have a nice "Officer's Club" casual restaurant on site, but otherwise you will need a car. We had access to our friend's car, so we were able to get to just about any type of store you can think of in the area along rt. 17. They have pump out stations on the docks, but unfortunately our outlet is starboard aft, and the hose had to come from the port bow and couldn't reach far enough.

Good value at $1.00/ft.

Great Marina, Great Staff - Will Come Again!!, 2013-02-07
Captain: , Hilton Head Island (86)

Don't let Capt zoey keep you away from this 1st class marina. They could not have been more friendly or more helpful for us.
We arrived 7 weeks ago limping in on 1 engine to a strange marina in the rain. Staff guided us in, helped us tie up and had an excellent mechanic there to meet us - how great is that. Well maintained docks, plenty of power, superb showers and laundry, and the price can't be beat for the Myrtle Beach area. Between major and minor boat repairs and vacationing we stayed 7 weeks - that should tell you how much we loved this place. Leaving tomorrow for Hilton Head, but will definetly return. I highly recommend this facilty and its staff!

7 feet in fairway?????, 2013-02-01
Captain: , Seattle (180)

What a joke, 7 feet in channel???????????????? why did I get stuck??? Was told plenty of water, 7 feet at MLW, stuck with a 5'5" draft????????????????????? How do you really rate it a zero????????????????
Never did you people even check with me about still coming in when you knew I was stuck and had called for a tow. At 5:05pm I hailed you on radio and got no one what great service and you expect people to stop and stay with you???? THANKS FOR CONCERN. I will never recommend nor speak nicely of you facility.

Convenient and a great value, 2013-01-23
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (435)

At $1 per foot (with Boat US discount), the value here is terrific. Nice protected docks and clean facilities. Exercise room is minimalist, but at least they have one. Clarke's restaurant is good and an easy walk.

Great Marina, everything that you would want, 2013-01-18
Captain: , New Hamburg, NY (140)

Stayed here in July on our way back to NY. Very friendly people, more than willing to help with lines. The restaurant on site had very good food at a reasonable price. Facilities were excellant. Very reasonable rates for docking and diesel fuel. Would definitely stay again.

easy night entrance, 2013-01-13
Captain: , New Orleans (651)

we stayed overnight 1-13-2013 and had an easy entrance after dark. We had called ahead and been directed to tie at the large fuel dock. We were not expecting a welcome, but Leela (staff) llives in the marina and met us with helping hand to welcome us. The facility is clean and the people great. We ate at the Officers Club on site and enjoyed healthy entrees with fresh vegetables and a great key lime pie. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant had live entertainment - a great guitartist-singer. We dined out on the deck as the weather was spring like - everyone was excited to be in short sleeves in Janurary!

Everything good about a Marina!, 2013-01-01
Captain: , Charleston SC (743)

We don't normally stay in Marinas but it is cold this New Year's eve so we opted to try MBYC. What a find! Everything good that people have said about this place still holds. Rates are very reasonable ($50 for 48 feet incl electricity. The boardwalk is a great place to walk the dog, they even have a "pet mooring" cleat by the office door. The dock they put us on is about 55 feet with spacious width. Call ahead and they will meet you at your dock and take lines. Happy new year.

Truely a Yacht club, 2012-12-20
Captain: , Woodbridge, Va (126)

The prices can't be beat. You'd spend more on gen fuel. I have a 43 ft. It was $48'. The laundry was great 6 large machines. They had a nice lounge in the laundry with a computer and printer. The rates for a month were very reasonable. There's a nice lounge upstairs with great food.

We almost did not want to leave, 2012-11-25
Captain: , San Francisco, CA (312)

We pulled in here for a week because we had some family business to take care of. We did not meet Bud (out sick) but Leila and Mark are great. This marina is very dog friendly, Leila even hands out biscuits. Very nice docks surrounded by attractive condos and a walking path. Good laundry facilities, bathrooms and showers. The free internet is better in the library/laundry room than on the boat.

Nice inexpensive marina, 2012-11-24
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

Only $1.00 a ft with boat US discount. We arrived on Thanksgivings day, so staff left info in electric box. Had Thanksgivings Dinner at the onsite restaurant which was excellent. We will definately be back. Pump out was a little slow, but at your slip.

Quick Stop off ICW, 2012-11-21

October trip south, 2012-11-17
Captain: , Red Bank , NJ (275)

Nice marina. Stayed there several days because of Hurricane. Its just off intracoastal in Coquina Harbor. It is very protected harbor with condos all around , great weather protection. Extremely reasonablely priced at $1.00 per foot per night. People are very nice, restraurant on the premises.

Well protected marina, 2012-11-16
Captain: , Roseville MN (398)

Great place off the ICW - large docks and (for once) enough room between the docks to turn our boat into a slip. nice professional staff.

Channel entrance only 5'6" MLW, 2012-10-01
Captain: , Sydney (313)

The channel to these 3 marinas is shallow. Friends saw 5'6" so I waited for more than 6 inch rise in tide and bumped on the way in. It was about an hour after a spring low tide. I draw 6 feet.

A great value, 2012-09-30
Captain: , Amelia Island, FL (507)

This marina has by far the friendliest people. Everyone has a ready smile and a big hello. The marina itself is clean, well laid out and very easy to get in and out. Entering the harbor can be unnerving as the red buoy is halfway across the opening, giving the apperance of a very narrow channel, particularly when approaching from the north. The docks are older but well maintained. The staff are great. It would be helpful if the marina offered a courtesy car as there is not much nearby and Myrtle Beach proper is some 20 miles away. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great Place to Visit or Stay Long Term, 2012-09-26
Captain: , ocean isle beach nc (10)

All of the ammenities needed, includeing fuel, pump out at your slip, and two restaurants within a one block walk. The staff is very attentive and show real southern hospitality.

Great Marina, Great Restaurant & Good Hurricane Hole, 2012-07-23
Captain: , Satsuma, Fl (10)

This wonderful marina features a great restaurant which overlooks the harbor, has excellent facilities, very clean showers and restrooms, a very large pool and is close to quite a few golf courses. Great protection in a major storm. Easy access from the ocean or intercoastal. Have spent a lot of time there and the Dockmaster is the best.

Officers Club, 2012-07-19

Best of the Carolinas, 2012-06-23
Captain: , Little River, SC (10)

Of all the marinas in NC to Charleston, SC, you have got to spend some time here. Don't miss this one. With its' on-site restaurant with a great, reasonably priced menu, swimming pool, grilling areas and, my favorite, lighted boardwalk around an entire harbor that is almost 2.5 miles of walking or jogging pleasure, you will not be bored. The staff is the best. They also have fuel docks, pump-out on the dock, so you can pump out without leaving the slip, beautiful clean bathrooms/showers, fitness equipment, laundry and reading area....on an on!! Of course, free WI-FI on the docks! What more could you ask for! I fell in love with the location and folks there so much that I had to buy a slip and call it home port! Yes; liveaboards are allowed!! It has superb, easy access in and out of slips, plenty of depth, easy and close access to Little River Inlet (no bridges between you and ocean). I could go on and on!!...wait a minute...I already did! You just have to see it for yourself! You will be glad you did!

Great marina - and restaurant, 2012-04-08
Captain: , Westbrook, CT (453)

Diesel was reasonable (3.89), docks wonderful, catv, power, water, pumpout all there in a very protected setting. Officers Quarters restaurant on site, newly taken over by a NJ couple, was excellent, with a varied menu, and priced competitively to boot. All in all, a wonder experience, inlcuding some of the best showers we have seen on the ICW.

Lots of Boats, 2012-02-08
Captain: , SeaScape Marina (310)

Very nice marina. Able to accomdate boats in excess of 60'. Very well protected.

(Still a) Good place to leave a boat, 2012-02-06
Captain: , Vero Beach (527)

We had to break a trip for land commitments. We felt the boat was as safe or safer here than at our home marina of 21 years. Great people. When I asked for a taste of something in the restaurant, I got a sample big enough for lunch.

Once again we had to run back to DC and down to Florida in mid trip to handle commitments. Once again we chose to leave the boat here. The impact of the economy showed in the slip occupancy. The restaurant is not what it was in 2009.

We will still bring a boat here because this place shines in the essentials (and they have fixed the in-slip pumpout capability and it works well.

Friendlly, Helpful, and relatively Inexpensive., 2011-10-04
Captain: , Black Earth, wi (63)

Bud still is an A-1 guy and was terrific, as we thought we were in a different marina. He made us feel welcome and we spent the night at the fuel dock. Our dogs were close to the doggie rest area, and our cat felt right at home. The restaurant is excellent and a dock away. Must stop - have excellent monthly rates

Local Knowledge, 2011-04-23
Captain: , Little River, SC (8)

Myrtle Beach Yacht Club is located at ICW Mile Mark 346, 1.3 miles north of the Little River Swing Bridge (MM 347.3) which opens ON REQUEST. Local Knowledge Hint. MYBYC is a nice stop because you come through the Swing Bridge, go one mile, turn into the marina, spend the night or just top off your tanks%u2026 The Sunset Beach Pontoon Bridge which opened on the hour located 8.3 miles north of MBYC has been replaced by a 65 foot high rise fixed bridge....No more waiting there. Back to Myrtle Beach Yacht Club which has just been certified a South Carolina Clean Marina. In addition, pump out is available at your slip.

Left our boat here for a month, 2011-03-15
Captain: , Westport,Ma (710)

Good monthly rates, the resturant at the yacht club is very good. Best pecan pie ever. Though you need to rent a car to get around make sure you get over to the little river inlet and to key west crazy for oysters and drinks you can sit out on the deck and watch the boats go down the ICW.

Very nice folks, 2010-04-14
Captain: , Sea Cliff, NY (1075)

The dockmaster, Bud, is a fine fellow that goes out of his way to be accomodating. We needed a spot to leave the boat for a couple of weeks and he gave us a great spot in the marina, and also gave us a very fair price. The other folks working there are also very helpful and polite.

The floating docks are in fair to good condition, and all docks are behind lockable gates. Power was excellent, even at the end of a long pier. They also have a security camera system in place and operational.

The Yacht Club restaurant, located above the marina office, was surprisingly good. Again, very nice people.

older docks, 2009-10-03
Captain: , Varies - Home in Charlotte, NC (243)

Floating docks that were older but quite adequate. Dock hands were friendly and they have a good marina shop. The restaurant above was very good.

excellent marina, 2009-07-17
Captain: , Little River, SC (101)

Deep, protected. Easy fueling. Great staff. Good restaurants.

Welcome to SC, 2008-11-19
Captain: , Belhaven, NC (363)

We've stayed at MBYC several times, once for a month. The staff is very friendly, and the facility is well appointed. The docks are secure, and the showers and laundry are pretty good. Fuel is easy to get to and usually competitively priced. Bicycling is at your own risk, but there is a great boardwalk for exercise and a pool. Try the porkchops at Umberto's next door.
