Great Hospitality, 2015-06-20

Stayed here for 1 night but had to tie up to the red pier down from the fuel stop. Luverne who runs the store was extremely friendly and helpful. After 5pm make sure you go to the store and play Rummikub with her and locals TT and Ronald. We were in a 42' sailboat with a 6'1" draft and bare,y had enough water to get in. The fuel dock was under water due to heavy rains so anything more than a 4 1/2' draft will have trouble under normal conditions. At dark the Mosquitos will carry you off.

Got gas and groceries here the staff was so so so nice.Very good prices on food and gas for being on the water.

no diesel. but gas was $3.98 a gallon.

Again the Lady was extremely nice. I stayed for an hour or so and really did not want to leave. Just a great spot!

Southern Hospitality, 2011-02-12
Captain: , Kemah, TX (188)

We spent two nights here and really enjoyed the southern hospitality. This is a small country store with beer, and other convenience store items. The shower/restroom is in the store. They have a small seawall on the river's edge. There is 30 amp power by the flag pole. Very few big boats come up the river so you will be greeted by the friendly locals. One couple took us to a grocery store in Lowry, LA and would not accept payment even for gas. Another couple invited us to their home for a great cajun feast and LSU football on their TV. This is a beautiful river spot but a very primitive marina. If you are adventurous, this is worth a stop.
