Reviews for Mount Vernon Docks
Easy Dock and Access to Mt Vernon, 2016-08-07
Captain: , Beverly, MA (1140)

Access is easy, can dock along the right side of the dock. There is no charge to dock. Staff are friendly and will lend a hand with lines. There is a free shuttle that is avaliable. A must see, plan most of the day to take it all in. Make sure to "Fender" well as the tour boats do bring in wakes. No overnight/water/elect.

no dock fees, 2015-05-30
Captain: , Clemson, SC (71)

no charge for docking with regular admission fee of $18.
we were there 6/26/15

High day docking fee, 2012-06-19
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6484)

No overnight docking, day dock to visit Mt. Vernon only. $2.00 ft to dock plus entry to Mt. Vernon.

Super Stop for History, follow channel closely, shallows, 2011-07-12
Captain: , Washington, DC (350)

This is one of the stops I always take visitors to, as we have drinks enroute and dine on the water, to arrive at Mt Vernon for a historic tour of Geo Washington's Farm.

A must, but small dock for maybe six 30 foot boats.

New fees 08-30-09, 2009-09-06
Captain: , clear lake texas (435)

Managment is charging $2.00/ft to tie up for a day visit. Then you will have to pay the entrance fee to tour Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon is worth a visit but dockage is expensive!

Mt. Vernon Wharf, 2008-07-10
Captain: , Pasadena, MD (1496)

Tour boats operate from the north side of the wharf daily except Monday, so Monday is the best day to visit. No reservations; first come, first cerved. Room for two 40' boats on each side of wharf. There are two access channels, but the south channel is the better of the two. The northbound channel carries approx. 5' at MLW. There are no services here, and you can't overnight. It's approx 15 miles to Washington (Washington Channel) or 15 miles south into Mattawoman Creek for overnight anchorages. Visitor's are asked to pay for admission to Mt. Vernon, $12 for adults. Newly opened Museum is excellent. Overall, an excellent stop and a fun day.

Call ahead, 2007-08-09
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, FL (79)

Tour boats can fill the docks and you will not be able to tie up.
Call the dockmaster in advance to check on availability.
Their phone is ext 8056
When hailing on VHF "Mt Vernon Wharf"

Mt Vernon, 2007-03-15
Captain: , Key Biscayne FL (3049)

No overnight but come in to see Washington's homestead and gravesite. We carried 5' right to seawall on the south side. Pay for admission to Mt Vernon
