Reviews for Mount Sinai Harbor
Change of pace North shore mooring, 2015-11-05
Captain: , Brookhaven, NY (366)

Summered up here this past summer instead of my normal South Shore of LI. used Ralph's to drop and retrieve a mooring. Very inexpensive way to go. Town installed a dingy dock, and now charges about $100 a season. Very convenient (don't forget to bottom p[aint it!),

Birds are a killer up here. You MUST have bird spikes on your spreaders or you will have bird poop all over your boat. I was in east end, and had no issues with some windy storms passing through.
Lots of stringy something grew all over the bottom. be prepared to scrub the bottom every other week or so. Maybe my South Shore bottom paint was an issue too.

they could have been nicer, 2012-07-17
Captain: , West shore Marlboro NY (825)

the satff at the resturant and bar were very friendly 1-2 other boaters were nice but on the whole most were un friendly
we even had a 30$ clam rake taken off our dinghy.i guess our sail boater next door wanted a new one?
food was very good at the club
14$ a night for electric is a bit steep even for reciprocal club???
maybe get a mooring ball at ralphs next time
nice location otherwize good quiet harbor

MSH a no-go for us, 2011-09-20
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (184)

We drove our 50' trawler into the harbor to check it out. The place was jam packed with occupied moorings. Deep enough but not spacious enough for us to anchor. There is a launch ramp and dinghy dock, but no facilities (stores, etc.)

A quiet hideaway 7/27/2011, 2011-07-28
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1290)

If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of Port Jefferson, try Mt Sinai Harbor 3 miles to the east of Port Jeff. The entrance is well marked, and the depths were good for our 5.5 draft sailboat While there are some marinas with some mooring balls, we anchored for a quiet night. There appears to be minimal facilities on shore, but the change of pace was welcome. Holding was good, minimum wake and not wave action senery was pleasant. The fishing boats do go out was early as 5AM rather quietly.
