Reviews for Morro Bay Yacht Club
Really special facility, town and people, 2015-11-02
Captain: , Annapolis MD (170)

MBYC has to be the friendliest place we have visited, and it is located in a wonderful town. No reservations but call a few days ahead to see if they have an idea on if there will be space. Be aware that they will (understandably) ask you to move for club events. Website has all the details. Bring a kayak and paddle over to the spit that separates the harbor from the ocean, great beach walks and birding. Coast Guard is also very helpful in providing bar conditions by phone before entering. All in all a very special destination.

Great stopover on the way north or south..., 2014-09-02
Captain: , Newport Beach, CA (360)

Spent two nights here on the way south. People at the YC are very friendly. Hi-spd WIFI is great... very fast. Only downside is they don't have 50 amp 125/250 power, but that won't impact many cruisers.

Very relaxed, accomodating club, 2014-04-09
Captain: , Georgetown, SC (616)

The club has a single 200' (+/-) dock for transient usage, but will also encourage rafting two wide if needs exceed the amount of available space. 30A shorepower and water are available. Very friendly membership. Easy access to plenty of restaurants and all the facilities of the waterfront.
We shared the dock for four nights with an 80' and a 60', all of us waiting for a weather window.

Very nice place, 2013-05-28
Captain: , Kirkland, WA (4478)

05-28-2013 Stayed several nights at the MBYC dock while waiting out foul weather. Helpful people moved boats to make space for us on the dock. Facilities are all well-cared for and reasonably priced.
07-25-2012 We spent one night and morning of the next day on the dock at MBYC and found it to be very nice. Clean, well-maintained facilities that are centrally located.

People are very helpful and friendly, 2011-02-23

The Morro Bay Yacht Club is really the only public dock in the downtown area. It is not a particularly a busy yacht club, but there is always someone "on call" to answer your questions and accept your dockage fee. After hours, there are also check-in instructions on the door on the south side of the building. Once you get officially checked-in, the restroom and shower facilities are quite nice.
