Reviews for Montebello Municipal Marina
Montebello Municipal, 2016-07-24

Good overnight stop or location to pick up guests.
Face dock is for boats over 30 ft or so. It is open to wakes from passing boats. There is no electric on this dock and only one water. Docks are a bit tippy.
The plus for it is that it is relatively inexpensive and a short walk to the resort at Montebello.
The grocery in town is surprisingly well stocked and they gave us a ride back to the boat with all our groceries.

Lock master very helpful. Nice and close to town to get supplies

The lockmaster now has a building on shore at the marina. It also houses restrooms & showers. He spoke English well & was very helpful. This is a full service town - restaurants, grocery, chocolatier, cheese shop, etc. We enjoyed hiking the trails to Chateau Montebello. Some boats throw wakes & roll the docks but most are courteous & slow down.

The docks were a bit dated - old wooden fingers - but safe enough. We were put on the outside face of the Tee inside the outside face dock. Power and water were within reach. Dockmaster was helpful with lines and information about town. Laundry was just a few blocks away. Several restaurants within an easy walk, and a cheese store at the top of the driveway.

Price $1.6 with Power. No pump out and Laundry not working. However a 5 minute walk takes you to a nice laundramat where several loads can be done at once!

The harbormaster was very helpful and does speak English well enough that one can communicate.

The finger docks are very short (20 FEET) And no pilings to tie off the bow if you back in. With our Krogen we had to back in to be able to get off the boat. This would be a very difficult place to tie up if there was any wind. Additionally if a storm is anticipitated I woudl not want the bow stuck out 20+ feet and the bow lines acting mostly as aft springs.

We did meet very friendly boaters there and our stay was pleasant. I would stay there again but only in good weather and no wind blowing duiing a tie-up.

There is a long face dock but at this writing it was not very secure and dockmaster did not want a boat as heavy as ours on that dock. If that dock gets secured then tying up will be quite easy.

It says they have pump out but it doesn't reach to deep water. The docks do get some wakes but it settles down in the evening. Significantly cheaper the chateau. The office is up the hill in a red brick hotel building.

Montibello Marina, 2009-07-05

Not too sure about this one. We made reservations here thinking we were making reservations at the Chateau Montibello. We passed the marina by and tried to get directions to our slip....our mistake. When the Admiral tried to phone them (Montibello Municipal) to ask directions to the marina, whoever answered the phone hung up on her. Finally found our way to the marina and got tied down. You have to register but you can't register near the docks...you have to walk to a hotel which is on the main drag in town. A real pain....a longer walk than the Mega Dock in Charleston. The facilities were in a buiding near the docks, however, so not a total waste. All in all, I would probably look elsewhere or anchor out.
