Reviews for Montague Marina

We had no problem to get throught the channel to Montague marina, wich is a very nice shelter where you're always welcome. The owners are very nice, professional and friendly. Enought to lend us their car to go for a grocery! Anyway, everything essential is easily accessible by foot because the marina is literally in the middle of town.
Thanks for everything, merci pour tout,
Les madelinots!

PLEASANT & CHARMING, 2012-07-05
Captain: , Kodiak, Alaska (32)

Located 5 miles up the well-marked meandering and scenic Montague River, you will find this jewel of a marina to be small, quaint, charming and professionally run. The manager (Sheila), her assistant (Kay) and the entire staff are all knowledgeable, accommodating and willing to help in any way they can. Sheila%u2019s husband (Daryl) is a first-rate hydraulic mechanic; but from what I observed, there is very little else that he doesn't know about machinery or that he can't fix. There is also a sizable fishing fleet in the area which appears to be well supported if you find yourself in need of other mechanical or electrical repairs. Everyone we met, during our 4 day stay here, were warm and friendly. We made several new friends and look forward to returning!

The tidal range is 4 to 6 feet, with a max. current of approx 1.5 kts (at full ebb). Our boat is 70%u2019 LOA, 20%u2019 beam, a full 10%u2019 draft, single screw and 135 Tons. We had no problem in negotiating the river or with docking maneuvers (even with the current running). We tied-up alongside their center set of docks and found 10%u2019 at MLLW. They have floating docks (16%u201D off the water), standard cleats (spaced every +/- 10%u2019), dual 50A power available, potable water (every 30%u2019), locked gates and 24 hour security (for which we saw NO need), very fast Wi-Fi, fuel, restaurant and a gift shop on the premises. The marina is meticulously cared for, in a beautiful park-like setting and is dog friendly. There are also 2 well-appointed hardware stores, a market, nice restaurants, a post office, several parks and museums all within easy walking distance.

Very nice trip up the Montague River to the Marina. Friendly staff, a number of new slips installed in 2010. Situated right in the heart of Montague.
