Reviews for Miss Chris Marina
Inexpensive very basic dockage, 2016-09-17
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Stayed again on 09-13-16 all information still valid. The least expensive dockage and fuel in Cape May and perhaps north. This is a shallow water dockage with only 3' at low tide in the slip. Bottom is a very fine silt mud so as long as you don't need to run marine a/c this is a good spot for the money. Fishing boats come in and out so expect foot traffic at the dock. No showers and bathroom is public. Great easy access to town.

Small, reasonably priced marina, 2015-06-09
Captain: , Newcastle upon Tyne (463)

Stayed here 3 nights. Very reasonably priced, included electricity and water on floating docks. Only a few spaces, but much cheaper than others in Cape May. Good restaurants nearby, Lucky Bones and The Lobster House. Also Tony's Marine Supplies is within walking distance. Groceries are less accessible, ACME being more than a mile, but a new bakery is being fitted out nearby. Staff friendly, if a little unused to transients. 4 Stars for economy, maybe 3 for the facility, so maybe 4 together.

2 June 2014 Diesel price, 2014-06-03
Captain: , Virginia Beach, VA (85)

We stopped yesterday, Monday 2nd of June & diesel price was $3.69 tax inc. Show your BoatUS card for an additional $.10. This is a very shallow channel so try to time your stop at mid to high tide. Rating is for the best price of fuel around.

Sail boarders, 2013-08-22
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (44)

I couldn't get into fuel dock because a sailboard lesson was going on and they refused to move. With a strong current, wind and a narrow channel it was not safe to wait for a lesson completion. I had to pay more for fuel somewhere else but thy misses a 100 gal sale.

Not a marina in the sense you were thinking, 2013-06-24
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (101)

It's more a bait and tackle/fishing charter operation that happens to rent out the fuel dock for overnighters. Nonetheless the folks were great and the ambience had a "time gone by" feel about it that we welcomed. We watched anglers get ready to go out and fish getting cleaned on the dock. On their recommendations, we went to Lucky Bones restaurant around the corner for very good food and craft beers. We draw 5.5' and I won't go in on a low tide again but, we will go back. Showers would be a nice touch but those are the only complaints.

Update 2013, 2013-03-25
Captain: , Sea Cliff, NY (1022)

I just spoke with the folks at Miss Chris marina and they are ready for the 2013 season.

A Great Place with Good Diesel, 2012-09-06
Captain: , Charleston (241)

We stayed one night and got treated very well at the dock. Neaby restaurant are plenty and good and all the fishing advice you could ever want is there at the dock including supplies. We filled our tanks with diesel and was surprised by the low prices. I would go back - but remember the transient space is limited.

Friendly easy acces from icw, 2012-06-21
Captain: , Key Largo (5330)

cheapest fuel in the area (boat us) , limited transient space, walkable to laudrymat, two bars close, also world famous Lobster house .
Don't belive your depth finder comming in, it's a false reading, two 09 ft draft whale watching boats come in and out of here all the time.

2 transient slips, 2012-06-07
Captain: , Port Lavaca, TX (441)

Good diesel price, friendly and helpful folks. Mostly fishing charter boats and docks. 2 transient slips available. Real close to The Lobster House, which has fresh local seafood for sale to take home or eat there.

Basic Marina with cheap fuel in central location, 2012-06-04
Captain: , LeClaire, Iowa (449)

This marina pumps a lot of fuel but does not cater to transients. We chose it because of the reasonable dockage and fuel prices in a location from which we cold walk to restaurants. Cheap fuel and pumpout at slip - very handy for a short stay.

Great People, 2012-05-21
Captain: , Cincinnati (1810)

The cheapest price for fuel that we have had in a year and the cheapest dockage in the area. Nothing special about the marina except that the staff are anxious to please and meet your needs. A lot of charter and sightseeing boats here but they leave gently and you hardly notice them. Plenty of good places to eat close. This marina had plenty of water for us. I would most definitely stay here again.

A most Honest Man, 2011-09-09
Captain: , Stuart FL (835)

This is an additional review on Aug 2011.
Our buddy boat and ourselves stayed at Miss Chris Marina and needed to fill up. Price was good ($379 Aug '11). Two days latter we got a call from The owner . Bob who informed us that he had an ncorrect price on the fuel tank. That it really should have been $.10 less per gallon. We both purchased over 400 gallons and Bob sent check back to each of us for over $40. Miss Chriss certainly has my business from now own. Bob cdrtainly did not have to let us know that but obviously he is a "most honest man".

Basic Accommodations, 2011-06-05
Captain: , Wilsonville, AL (300)

Diesel fuel was $2.59 gallon with Boat US discount. O.K. for 1 night, but the head boats wake you up coming in. Food @ Lobster House was great! Worth the visit. Try the soft crab sandwich and crab soup.

Shallow But Good, 2010-10-16
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

You will be right at the bottom at slip, if you draw 4'. One slip is about 3'. We always stay here, as it is convenient and cheap. Cheapest fule in Cape May, usually. BOATUS. People are great, and safe. No wakes, easy in/out. No showers. Only 3-4 slips, and you may have to dock in tandem, being blocked or blocking another boat, but they coordinate that well.

Reply to Be Careful, 2010-09-26
Captain: , Cape May (13)

Capt was told only slip remaining available had not been in use since last year and boat would sit on bottom at low tide. Capt still wanted slip. No mention was made of problem while at marina including electrical problem which was only told to a person who did not work at the marina. Sorry for his bad experience but over 70 boats stayed with us this spring to 78' and the headboats he refered to have drafts up to 9'.

Nice inexpensive stop over, 2010-09-19
Captain: , Boca Raton FL (274)

We draw 5' and bow in. We sit on the bottom at low tide. We only run our AC at mid tide or higher. That being said we have stopped there several times and will return.

Be Careful, 2010-06-26
Captain: , Beaufort SC (81)

Really a head boat dock. Although they claim 10' approach and dock depth we found 7' approach a 2' dock side depths. Both we and our neighbours (36' and 43' trawlers} woke to being sucked in mud (6/19/2010). On top of this we found that one of two 30 amp outlets had reversed polarity. When we informed marina operator, he seemed to absolutely oblivious to the implications.

Great stop!, 2009-09-30
Captain: , Lewes, DE (2517)

People are very friendly and helpful. With Boat/US discount this is best and quaintest marina here. Close to lots of restaurants, fish markets, and narine stores. West Marine 1/4 mile north across bridge.

Usually Good fuel prices and lowest dockage, 2009-08-04
Captain: , St Louis (671)

Second time we stopped at Miss Chris’, this time in June when we were heading north they had the cheapest fuel prices from northern Chesapeake Bay to Hudson River that we found. Dockage is limited but with BoatUS discount it is the cheapest at $1.50ft in Cape May. Agree with the other reviews, not difficult to get in, reasonable close to town and very nice friendly folks! Will stop there again.

Quick fuel stop, 2009-08-01
Captain: , Melbourne Florida (4616)

Easy bow in and out.....cheapest we found.

Good stop, friendly owner, usually cheap fuel, 2009-06-07
Captain: , Miami, fl (3544)

May 09: stopped for fuel only since they didn't have overnight dockage avail. one of the whale watcher boat left their slip to let us refuel... the creek is a little shallow at low tide (7' or so) but it's very soft silt. their fuel in may 09, was 0.40 cheaper than the other cape may marinas.

Oct 08: didnt' stop as their fuel was a higher than Ustch (fuel prices were dropping fast at that time and you had to find the place with the most recent delivery)

stopped there in may 08... had the cheapest fuel in Cape May and willing to stay late to refuel us. Friendly, number of restaurants nearby. Even gave us some fresh fish jsut off the charter boats for dinner...

Miss Chris, 2009-06-04
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

$1.50/ft + $5 elec. Nice stop after a long run from either direction. Easy to get into the slips, but only 3 available, so call ahead. Primarily geared toward head boats (fishing trips), but friendly and helpful. Several restaurants in walking distance. No showers. Laundy is 3 blocks to to the south. There is a Wawa (kind of like a large 7-11) for groceries next to the laundry. The main tourist district and boardwalk is a little over a mile walk to the south thru a nice nieghborhood.
