Reviews for Milford Boat Works/Milford Harbor Marina
Good location, decent facility, 2017-08-10
Captain: , Glen Cove, NY (62)

Stayed 8-5-17 overnight. Nice location as it's the closest in the harbor to town, a 10 minute or less walk. The marina is basic, very clean bath/showers, gas grill and tables on shore. No pool as it's more of a boatyard, but the rates are reasonable. Dock crew freindly and helpful. The slip we had did not have cleaths, just kind of flimsy looking rings to tie to, might be an issue in a storm. And there's an ice cream place 2-3 min up road towards town. Good stay.

Great Dockage!!!!, 2016-08-02

Very nice harbor!Finds/has spots for vistors.Nice people at the gas pump and pump-out.Has nice bathrooms.5 minute walk into town.Scoopy Doo's Ice Cream is great, they put marshmallows in the bottom of there cones ,so watch out for allergies.7 Seas is great for dinner! All in all it's a great place to stop at!

Still a great place to stop, 2016-07-01
Captain: , Thornwood,NY (40)

Easy access and very friendly. Reasonably priced. Clean bathroom and showers. Short walk to town for supplies, many restaurants and train. Well stocked ship chandlery. Small picnic area with grill. A pool would make it 5 star for me. They made it very easy for new J32 owners. Would consider berthing there for the season in the future. It is 1hour by car from home in Mt. Pleasant, NY.

Fantastic service, 2014-10-01

We had our prop fail. Milford Boat Works got right on it and we were on our way. Thanks, MBW!!

full service, 2013-08-14
Captain: , Milford, Ct (138)

Well run, clean bathrooms & showers, washer /drier; barbcue grills & picnic tables - easy access to fuel dock; short walk into Milford with lots of restaruant/bar options. Ship's Store has good inventory of parts & supplies
Yard work is repoted to be good (no personal experience)

Nancy does a great job of communicating with customers!!

Some nights there can be some noise from the adjacent town pier.

impressive yard, 2013-01-27
Captain: , Rehoboth DE (51)

In 35 years of boat ownership I have rarely been called by a yard during the winter to get a head start on spring work. These folks did. Very impressive. They are not cheap, but no one is these days.
I was on their email disribution during hurricane Irene and they were on the site while the water was rising, and keeping their owners informed. None of their boats was lost. I am confident that my boat is in good hands here.

Super place for boat work and resort vibes, 2012-10-22
Captain: , Delaware (47)

Top notch boat works with super knowledgeable year round staff. Experts available for your every nautical need from engines to woodwork to fiberglass to metal work and more. We spent 7 weeks hauled out and had a full make over for our beloved trawler. She is like a new vessel in every aspect, we even gained 1knot in speed! What a job : ) Milford is a resort town with fantastic restaurants and activities. The train to NYC is just a short walk from the marina, very handy. I am going back for more!

Pleasant surprise, 2012-09-02
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (1145)

The marina is small - so make sure you have a reservation. But once here, the heads are clean and the laundry is free. There's a work bench also free to use. No pool or other amenities. Short walk into a cute town. If you have bikes, it's a short ride to a Stop N Shop.

Good marina for boat work, 2012-07-25
Captain: , Poughkeepsie, NY (6077)

I needed to replace three 4D batteries and one starter battery in my Beneteau 423. Milford Boat Works was recommended by a friend and I'm glad I followed his advice. It's a family run marina and the owner, Larry, listens carefully to what you want and takes a personal interest in ensuring your needs are met.

Larry showed up right at the time he promised and with a helper, replaced the 120 lb each 4D's. He did some of the heavy lifting himself, nothing like owner participation to ensure customer expectations are met! He freely offered advice when asked on other boat systems.

I would definitely come here again for future boat work!

Well done, but a bit tricky to get in and out, 2012-07-14
Captain: , Mamaroneck, NY (50)

MBW is a nice place, very close to town. Clean and well-run, friendly people with a nice ship's store. Many decent restaurant choices in town - ate at Stonebridge for dinner and it was good. For breakfast, went to the Corner, which had unbelievably excellent French toast and other great food.

That said, the marina lies at the end of a long, narrow channel. We entered late afternoon on a low tide, and there was an endless parade of boats on the way out, making the channel a bit nerve-wracking. Then, on arrival to the marina, we tied up to the fuel dock, which required a tight turn with shoals very close by and fighting a bit of wind. Once we got to our slip, things were fine, but the approach can be challenging, so pay attention. Deep draft sailboats, especially, should enter carefully on a high tide. When we left in the morning (on a rising tide) all was well.

great fuel prices - fun location, 2012-06-17
Captain: , Milford (530)

Diesel was almost $1.00 cheaper, and good stuff too.

The town of Miford is 2 minutes walk, and the entire area and marina is spotlessly clean and pleasant. Older docks - they put me in a slip 5 feet too short, and so narrow that we could barely squeeze a fender between the boats - talk about a scary place to get in and out! But the staff was more than friendly and lent lots of assistance so all went well.

Quiet - a little current but not bad.

valvetec 3.99/gallon, 2012-05-29
Captain: , Westport,Ma (710)

great price for the area at 3.99/gal and its valvetec 5-26-12

Great ships store, 2012-02-20
Captain: , Milford (190)

This very inviting and friendly ships store has it all and is often better than a trip five miles down the road to West Marine. Mike (manager) will bend over backwards to order a part or help in any way possible, all while providing a free cup of coffee. One of the best marina stores I've encountered in 30 years of sailing in New England!

Great Stop, 2010-04-23
Captain: , Ipswich, MA (318)

Clean restrooms, washers and dryers, short walk into town. Full marine store. FUel etc. Very nice people run it.
