Reviews for Mermaid Marina
Older marina, work in progress . . . ., 2017-01-29
Captain: , Evansville Indiana (56)

December 2016. Spent the night, fuel fill up in the AM.
Had to drag a crappy leaf covered hose down the hill to take on some water. Filled up with gas (well we tried, emptied their tamk)
Had a trash bag to dispose of while taking on fuel, no offer to take care of it for me, just pointed up the hill to the dumpster. (that and the garden hose situation kinda determined the zero tip)
Somebody had a mufflerless 4 wheeler in the parking lot after dark.
It is what it is. More of a fish camp than a marina.

too shallow, 2016-10-19
Captain: , Eagle (292)

3' at entry, docks almost out of the water, no showers, no laundry, no toilet except in the store when it's open.
Not a lovely stop.

Shallow entrance but wonderful marina!, 2016-08-04
Captain: , Quebec (20)

We are traveling in a Cataman so our draft made it very easy to get into Little Mermaid. Our GPS noted that we had 6' only. If you can make it to this marina, you can fall in love. The Harbour Master, Barry, made us feel like part of his family! We enjoyed our morning coffee with him and his team. His shop is full of great of items that you may not realize you need right away but trust me, you'll find something you need! I can't wait to get back!

Nice stop for fuel and a short stay, 2014-10-23
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

The helpfulness of this staff makes this place a 3 star. They are working to make it better, but it does need some work. The fuel price is worth the stop, as of this date it was $3.69 for diesel. They lent us their van to get to the Grocery, which is 15 miles away. Hopefully they make the needed improvements to make it truly a 3 star or possibly a 4 with a lot of work.

Nice Quiet Spot, 2014-10-17
Captain: , Belleville, Ontario (410)

Water depth was 7 at the lowest in centre of entrance channne - power was good - showers were getting repair work and the owner offered a rental cottage for a shower - nice folks - very quiet spot

A Port in a Storm, 2014-10-03
Captain: , Cape Coral, Fl (838)

Came into the Marina with 2 other boats (2-42 ft and 1-38ft) because of weather front moving in. We all draw 4 ft and lowest was 4.7 ft coming in the channel. The owner, Barry, said deepest water is near the idle speed buoy. We had 6.7 ft at the dock. Barry was very helpful and said he was rebuilding the business and now has diesel that as of today was the same price as Pebble Isle Marina.

Very friendly and helpful, 2013-11-18

Marina is under new ownership and management from September. Barry and Betty did everything to make our stay pleasant.
We arrived late in the year when the water levels on the Tennessee River are allowed to go lower. When other marinas could not accommodate our 3.5ft draft with the pool at 354, we were able to dock at the Mermaid Marina. We had 4+ ft at the center of the entrance and were 5+ at the docks. Depths should be fine at normal levels.
While they don't have a CC at the moment, Barry did run me into town for some much needed parts and supplies. Barry says he will have Diesel in another two weeks, gas was 4.12 11/16/13.
The restaurant served good meals over looking the river.
A new golf course is close by.

WELL PROTECTED, 2013-10-19
Captain: , Fort Smith Arkansas (131)

At about mile 140 watch for narrow entry on LDB. Depth over 7 feet on entry but as little as 4 feet directly across from fuel dock and office. Some slips may be deeper farther away from fuel dock area.
Quiet and extremely well protected from wind and waves. Very friendly staff also helps with docking. Restaurant had a good selection. Buffet was good. WIFI worked fine. Cell phone also worked fine but strength seemed to vary frequently. 30 and 50 amp at slips. $1 per foot included tax.
Would stay again if in the area.

Old marina, run down., 2012-07-21
Captain: , Mesa AZ (1609)

Restaurant on premise is too expensive for fried food. Staff is not knowledgeable about boating. No courtesy car as advertised. Would not return.

Laid back - quite, 2011-09-28

End of September- -No one else at dock - restaurant closed for season. Dog friendly - good stop for quick overnight. Well protected in cove
