Fantastic marina!, 2017-06-04
Captain: , La Salle, MI (70)

We've stayed here on three separate trips now, spending about 10 days here in total. Lots of great things to say, and we highly recommend this as a great place to stay. They allow transients, and you do not need to be a member of a yacht club to stay here. On our most recent trip, we were welcomed by Shannon at the fuel dock, who was very professional and accommodating, and received outstanding service from Alex at the fuel dock later during our stay. We were greated with a smile by everyone who assisted us. I would also like to compliment Jaime Cordova, the general manager, who always checked to make sure our needs were met on each of our visits.

The Pros:
- 24 hour service/fuel
- outstanding floating docks
- fantastic restaurant
- Best place on the lake to spend 4th of July weekend, with outstanding fireworks right outside the marina
- Pool and nice outside bar
- Well protected from anything Lake Erie can throw at you!
- Very nice and clean shower facilities

The only downside is the price of fuel. $3.30/gal for diesel, but paid $2.90/gal after receiving a $0.40/gal discount for purchasing 100+ gallons.

First-Class Facility, 2017-01-10
Captain: , Erie, PA (120)

Visited last summer enroute from Erie to the Sandusky Islands on 10-day trip and is one of the nicest marinas wa have stayed at. Altho a yacht club, will accept transient boaters if space is available. Features 24-7 staffed fuel dock (nice if you come in late), lots of shade and picnic tables adjacent to the horse-shoe shaped lagoon, large new pool, large clean restrooms with plenty of showers, access to a large swimming beach, and a casual bar and grill for a burger etc.

Took a bike ride in surrounding suburban area, grocery store may be a ways, but am sure you could get a cab. Staff and resident boaters all very welcoming and helpful.

Can't say enough good things!

Fresh review, 2016-07-10
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (60)

Ditto on prior reviews. A nice facility and engaged staff First night $1.75 foot, second night "free.". Club affiliation not required. Entrance to the harbor is tight with lots of little sailboats flitting around, but plenty of room inside to maneuver to the docks.

Captain: , Sandusky, OH (370)

Beautiful park like setting old classic yacht club building salt water pool fuel was $3.35 but transient visitors get 40cent disc per gallon Valvetech very clean restrooms picnic park use Club shuttle to access or dinghy go to gas dock to register as we couldn't get an answer on vhf yacht club reciprocal stay one nite get 2nd free ask for it

Quick Overnight Stop, 2015-09-09
Captain: , CURTICE (171)

Very nice club and grounds. After a long week on the lake we were a little under dressed for what was expected at this club. More of an upscale restaraunt, then workign boat cub.

Stop at the gas dock (manned 24/7) for a dock assignment. We were told the seconds night is free FOR RECIPRICAL CLUBS only.

Showers and restrooms are all the way up towards the gas dock, so if you are at one of the smaller docks you have a walk.

Not much else in the area, but a relaxing and quiet stopover.

Beautiful facility, 2015-09-08
Captain: , Little River, SC (752)

I highly recommend this stopover. Yes, a little pricey, unless you stay two nights in which the second night is free! And price really isn't that bad at $1.75 per foot. Gorgeous clubhouse with restaurant and bar. A bit of a walk to the showers and restrooms. But they are very clean and well maintained. Not much else in the area, however. Nice, peaceful, relaxing and quiet stopover.

Very nice place, 2015-08-19
Captain: , Lorain, OH (54)

Really nice place- as others have noted, pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for. 24 hr gas docks/etc... Really nice pool and deck area. hard to get out with sailboat when the waves are coming from the NNW, so we spent a couple extra days!!

GEM of a marina, 2015-08-02
Captain: , Petoskey MI (327)

Plenty of water and dockage for our 52' trawler. Dock staff super friendly and helpful.Locals were pleasant. Restrooms were a little old, but clean and spacious. This had a real old-fashioned yacht club charm.

GREAT STOP OVER, 2015-07-17

Mentor Harbor Yacht Club, 2012-07-01
Captain: , Michigan City (349)

Friendly people with a beautiful club facility. A little pricy at $1.75 per foot but have all amenities are available including a shuttle to and from the North side of marina 24 hours a day. Depths are 10 Feet plus at gas dock and slips. Navionics charts still show 6 feet or less.

Very nice in season for stop over, 2011-09-10
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

facilities and dock are very good except there was no hot water in the showers? Maybe the end of season wind down?

Nebtir Harbor, 2011-02-04
Captain: , Ashtabula YC, Ohio (278)

Newly rehabed floating docks. Great facilities, clubhouse, food, pool, and beaches.

Nice marina - a bit stuffy, 2010-07-19
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

While the marina is well staffed by summer hires, they don't seem to know how to answer the VHF. When you pull in, you need to stop at the fuel dock and fill out paperwork and at that point they'll assign a slip. Note that stopping at the fuel dock may be problematic for boats with a large turning radius.

The grounds are very nice and they have a beautiful pool. There's a very nice looking restautant on site, but we didn't try it. Bathroom facilities are OK, but need updating.

There are lots of large boats here, but I suspect that their major purpose is a floating condo rather than a vessel that moves.

They're also one of the more expensive marinas in the area and they charge 3% for using a credit card + tax, raising the rate to close to $2/ft.

Mentor Harbor Yacht Club is a first-class operation with great facilities. They are friendly to transient yachtsmen. The docks are in great shape, and the clubhouse has a fine restaurant. We enjoyed our one night visit very much.
