Not quite on a par with the KY or TN resort parks, but nice spot for a couple of days, especially if you have kids aboard. Hiking Trails, nature center, links style golf course, two beaches thaet were both well kept during our three days with the grand kids, two pools, in and outdoor, two hot tubs indoors, indoor fitness center, wallyball, racket ball, all kinds of outdoor games and play areas, sevveral scheduled events daily that you can take in if you wish, some require a nominal fee, bike rentals,,, paddle boats and canoe rentall ona tiny pond. Jet ski rentals are available if you wish. Not five star dining but decent meals at two restaurants and a snack bar. Fire pits and all kinds of games, puzzles and books for use in several really comfortable lobbies. They do a very nice job at what they do and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a very good pastry chef on staff. Entrance is much easier then described. Head south as directed and steer on the windmill that will bring you right to the marina opening, stay in the middle of the rock entrance and call on 69 for dock assignment.

Spending about a week here, for the first time. Approach was described in a scary manner and I agree with 1st poster, it's a little bit over hyped. The shallows charted out by the Concret tower light #29 are what Ithink they're guiding you through by stating to take a 180 deg heading. there is not channel per se, as somebody had told me. It's a shallow bay, but water is up to "normal" as I came in, but then my boat only draws about 3.5ft and is trimable. I suppose if you came in a fixed shaft drive boat, but I saw a pair of roughly 40ft sail boats during my stay and I'd assume that they have a fixed keel and draft of 5-7ft or so. I think the approach guidance is to assure you don't go willy-nilly flying across the bay from east/west and tag a 1/3ft area.

Anyway, as for the place. Id say the Erie beach is pebbly and shell'y. water looks dirty, but I think thats just the muddy nature of the bay. I thought it was quite clean. Rental jet ski was fun for an hour. Pools are great, twin hot tubs were very hot. Good is ok, if not great by certainly very edible. Plenty of activities, you can look up on website. Everything was very safe and clean. I think we'll spend our 2wk summer boat trip almost all here, as opposed to hopping to all the islands I had been doing just to go to the beach,m play in a pool, ride bike, go on hikes, etc. Do it all here, especially teh nature boardwalk, which is the biggest I have every seen by 10x.

Great, beautiful place you can stay for a week without a car and survive in terms of food and envertainment.

The un-marked approach isn't as intimidating as it sounds. The docks are short, but wide and have uprights. Power is right at the dock, but the water spigots are a stretch from some docks. The Lake Erie beach is dirty, but the pond has nice clean sand.

There's a restaurant in the hotel. It's mediocre. The hotel also features a gift shop, lounge and indoor and outdoor pools.
