Reviews for Mattapoisett Boatyard, Inc.
Nice Stopover , 2017-07-01
Captain: , Providence (443)

No frills boatyard with a friendly and helpful staff.

A beautiful place., 2017-03-31
Captain: , Swifts Neck Wareham, MA (452)

Beacause it's so open to Buzzards Bay, it's usually a bit choppy, but not overly so. There's a dinghy dock at the town wharf. Be sure to check in at the Harbormasters office. There's a nice restaurant called "The Inn" with excellent food and a casual pub atmosphere. A very pleasant harbor for power and sail boaters alike.

Good service!, 2016-08-30
Captain: , Perth Amboy, NJ (220)

Good service, however the launch only runs to sunset. The marina facilities were clean, but a bit spartan. We took our dinghy to the town dock and walked to a restaurant in town: Had the 'inn burger' and would order that dish again.

Just a Mooring, 2013-07-26
Captain: , Boston, Ma (161)

Stopped here to time our entry into the Cape Cod Canal. This is a boat yard, not a marina, but the mooring was only $35. Nothing within walking distance (we were tired), but a local gave us a ride to the laundramat (1 mile) which is a short walk from a decent seafood diner. The outdoor shower (singular) is very rustic. The water flows between the porch boards out into the dirt parking lot. Bathrooms are gas station quality. This did not bother me, but some may be put off. You can make a reservation with no deposit or prepay.

Good Mooring Stopover, 2013-03-19
Captain: , Fairhaven MA (446)

MBY generally has transient moorings available with short notice. Can be choppy in the wide open harbor with a SE wind. Very helpfull staff. In 2012 the Boatyard added another launch so as to service the entire Harbor including the Town Wharfs.Easy walk to the harbor village for the restaurant at the Mattapoisett Inn. The local "chandlery" is a recent West Marine superstore on Rt 6 in Rairhaven. There is a public bus shuttling between the towns for transportation.

Helpful staff and lovely location, 2013-03-02
Captain: , Montreal (253)

Spent a few weeks in the boatyard working on my boat before launching her for the season, and a 1000-mile journey. The staff were very helpful and full of advice. The facilities were basic, but were all I needed.
Mattapoisett itself is a sweet little village in a beautiful location. Just a shame the nearest chandler is a 6-mile drive away in Fairhaven.

Pleasant Stop 7/19/11, 2011-07-19
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1290)

Friendly, hospitable marina with reasonably priced moorings @ $30. Good launch service until 8PM. Mechanical services available.Quiet scenic mooring field, nicely spaced. Peasant neighborhoods to walk in. Historic lighthouse is just short walk. Onshore facilities are very limited, no laundry, outdoor showers. Deisel prices high @ $4.30 gal.

Very enjoyable mooring, 2010-11-26
Captain: , Essex, CT (1675)

Picked up a mooring after a tough ride down the Cape Cod Canal. What a wonderful respit from very difficult seas. Very quiet with no traffic and little wind or wake slap. Launch service was very nice as well.
