Reviews for Matheson Hammock Marina
Beware Beware Beware, 2017-04-11
Captain: , Atlanta (10)

I had my new dual Garmin Navigation devices (that were custom mounted) stolen from my boat in this marina. I found out that theft is a big problem here the hard way. When I called to report the problem to the marina office, they did NOTHING. Only after I complained did they act even a little interested. I asked for them to refund me for my transient dockage, they refused. Do not stay here if you're not aboard. This is a government owned marina, and so many people in charge that no one is in charge.

Love it, recomend everyone to go to and visit the area., 2016-09-01

I've lived about 5 min away and this used to be our morning exercise spot to go to. It is an amazing place. Fairchild Tropical Garden is located within the Park. The marina is really nice and clean. People there are very friendly and mind their own business very safe.

Docks under renovation for the next few months and "nothing available" for any size as they have had to move boats around. Still worth a call, as there is a sea wall as I understand it, just not any space in the foreseeable future.

Great Price, Good Docks, Little Else, 2016-03-18
Captain: , Galveston, Texas (30)

Good for the price, but issolated with no amenities, including usable showers. Gates lock from dusk til dawn and you are locked in or out. You can spend the night on boat, but they admit a staff member (still working to help you) told someone they could not. No discounts of any kind for fuel (unless over 100 gallons) or dockage. Not a service oriented marina. Managed and run by government employees who don't have to care and for the most part are not going too.

Beautiful setting, quiet, 2016-02-15
Captain: , Prouts Neck, Maine (30)

We came in here during the hubbub of the Miami Boat Show and found a completely different setting. Contrary to other reviews we found them most accommodating to spending a few nights onboard. Not more than five, we were told. They are trying to discourage liveaboards. Not near anything. Good place to walk in the park. Nice staff.

no sleeping on your boat, 2015-03-04
Captain: , Dillon (163)

Was so excited to find this marina! So close to Key Biscayne NP. Called and made reservations, and a little into our conversation, the Dock Asst. said that you cannot sleep on the boat! I thought marinas were places for boats and owners! So disappointed.

Will not let you stay on board overnight, 2015-01-24

I called and wanted to stay a night so I could drive to airport to visit our daughter who had a lay over flight to wait for. Was told no one was allowed to stay overnight on the boat :( priceless / useless place

Good marina, 2015-01-23
Captain: , Moyock, NC (1054)

There are six Miami-Dade Park Marinas like this one which are nice, friendly, a good stay, affordable, and working to improve their offering. Pump-out systems have been a problem. However, in 2015 all six marinas are scheduled with funding for new pump-out systems to be installed that will also tell the boater how much waste is removed.

Great Stop, 2014-10-07

Municipal Marina, well run. Short walk to one of the best restuarants in the area. Red Fish Grill, the Sea Bass was excellent, great views, settings. No shopping or supplies to be had nearby, except a few items at fuel dock. Easy fuel dock, good prices and service.
