Reviews for Marquette - Presque Isle Marina
Not a bad marina, but not much there, 2017-06-01
Captain: , Bayfield, WI (340)

We stayed here one night because the Michigan DNR reservation system said there was no room at Cinder Pond for our beam. The marina manager (of both Marquette marinas) explained that the reservation system is somewhat new and not all the bugs worked out yet, but there was definitely room at Cinder Pond if we wanted to move there. We opted to stay here. It's not a bad marina, but there isn't anything here, as it's about 3 or 4 miles from Marquette. The pump-out wasn't working, and hadn't been for 3 years. No laundry. Restrooms and showers were clean, but the shower heads were extremely high pressure. Nice park across the street. Staff was helpful and met us at the slip. There are only 2 piers, not 3 as shown on charts and cruising guides. There are some improvements planned in the near future but we were told they may eliminate transient slips (all transients would be handled through Cinder Pond).

These are old docks with metal sides. Also there is a problem with depth entering this harbor if your draft is over 5'. The entrance is deeper on the port side when entering. I good not get to the fuel docks. I carried diesel in jerry cans to the boat. Also no staff arrives until mid day.

Nice little marina, 2010-11-16

Nice little marina. A bit out of the way, so you will need a ride into town for dining or supplies. Basiin is a bit shoal, so boats drawing over 5 feet are advised to contact harbormaster via VHF. Very nice park nearby, with a small zoo.
