Reviews for Marquette - Cinder Pond Marina
Marquette Cinder Pond, 2016-08-07
Captain: , Penetanguishene ON (219)

Big boats should stay outside on the bulkhead, 25% discount. Insdie marina is very tight for long or wide boats. Fuel is very expensive and dockhands are poorly trained. Spilt diesel over my deck and forgot to replace fuel cap on friends boat. Waves broke over bow and filled tank with water. Boat had to have fuel cleaned. Marinas refused to return calls from boat owner. Great showers and

a good stop, 2014-09-03
Captain: , Naples, FL (1096)

The good: solid docks, secured gates at night, strong wifi, vibrant waterfront town, nice staff

The missing: laundromat, easy access to grocery store.

Not to be missed: Das SteinHaus for outstanding German food. Marquette Baking Company for delicious breads.

Fee was $50 for our 36 ft boat. Larger boats can stay at fuel dock.

Recommendation: provide transients with maps and info on town. It is a jewel.

Call for space, 2014-07-20
Captain: , Seattle (131)

The Michigan Parks site showed no available reservations for weeks, but they had room for a forty foot boat. Restrooms a bit of a hike, but clean. Very helpful staff. Easy walk to town and many restaurants and shops. If you like German food, don't miss Stein Haus. Spectacular!

Good Enough, 2013-08-15
Captain: , Milwaukee, WI (358)

Marquette is a nice town, and there is decent access to the downtown area from the marina. A large grocery store is a long hike (over a mile), though there is a small coop natural food style grocery store close by. Ditto other reviews regarding bathrooms... "institutional" and "not that great" come to mind. Tight maneuvering room for a 40 foot boat, but quite a bit of depth (over 9 feet above LWD) to at least the fuel dock and outer slips. Helpful staff.

Poorly maintained, 2013-06-13
Captain: , Brisbane, Australia (399)

This marina is staffed by nice, well meaning college kids. However, no one seems to be paying attention to the details that matter to cruisers. The shower facilties (both men and women) were in a state of disrepair. To make it worse the showers were push button - rewarded with 30 secs of water or less per push. All of the locks needed oil or replacement. We would have been better off anchoring out.

Nice Marina - Good Location, 2012-08-24
Captain: , Detroit (647)

Nice place to stay. We are in a 52ft trawler and it is tight. There is only one T-dock that can accomodate a boat our size. Great location to walk downtown for restaurants, shops and a great Farmer's Market that is open every day.

Great Marina to stay, 2012-08-21
Captain: , Bear DE (694)

Stayed for one night and enjoyed the Marina. This marina is verry small und difficult if you are on a 46ft Yacht. They made space for us at the travellift. Staff is verry helpful, WiFi is not as good as expected. Clean Showers!

Nice place to hang out for a few days, 2012-07-23
Captain: , Algonac, MI (1659)

Staff was very helpful. Restrooms and showers are institutional, but kept clean. 1/3rd mile walk to downtown shops and restaurants, groceries are further. Nice asphalt bike/walking path. docks well maintained with security fence locked at night. Marina is very well protected, but the fairways are a little narrow.

This is a nice marina with very few transient docks and tight spaces for maneuvering. Very helpful staff
